Part 2 of how to add extra holes to a nylon strap

  • Here I'm trying to figure out another way to add holes to nylon strap. Thanks to my buddy Jeff for the suggestion.

    Try a soldering iron with a small tip ... works great for me.

      I did. It didn't do it as clean as I liked. But it does work.

    I think that is a good idea, but I know that even I am not as steady as I used to be and uneven holes drive me nuts. I am going to make a two piece metal template with the holes of the correct size and properly spaced that you put one piece on either side of the band and clamp with a pair of small vice grips , then you can poke a hot nail /wire/drill bit of the proper size. It SHOULD, in theory, make absolutely perfect holes......probably make it long enough to rivet one end together and slide it over , that way it will be easier to align.

      Why not just use a solder gun with a pointed bit

    Do you think this would work with a nylon dog collar that is extra thick? It's basically 2 nylon straps sewn together. Thanks for your video.
