Here one that I’ve seen with my own eyes. A CW4 with a ranger/ Sapper/ SF Tab with a master bubbles badge. I swear to god I’ve never seen something so rare and so majestic as this dude. Saw him in the woods of JBLM walking out of 1ST Groups AO

My brother retired at CW4 in the US Army - 4th ID CAB. He would’ve been promoted to CW5 but he wanted to retire - and he did in 2010 after 26 years. He went to WOCS as a E-6 in 97. James F Ewing. RIP. I miss him.

The U.S. Air Force is bringing back their warrant officers. The first class of warrant officer candidates is supposed to convene later this year (2024) or early next year. The service identified a need for warrant officers in the cyber warfare arena. No warrant aviators are planned, which is kind of ironic for the "air" force.

My Dad was a walking Warrant. I retired as a CW5 155E Fixed Wing Aviator. A great experience.

USAF Basic in 1992. I swear i saw 1 or 2 back then. Mighty mystery then, too. Do other nations have similar structures? Seemed that they were more civilian than "Military", chill, too busy to bother us. Respected by all. Neat.

In the Air Force, have warrant officers been replaced by Technical Sergeants? Since they are to be specialists/technical experts?

Only approx 1,400 CW5s in the entire Army. Way less than E9s.
