Hi There. Interesting and Informative Vid. I think the Big End shells (may) have been replaced in the long and distant past 🤔. There appeared to be a Scuff mark on one of the bearing shell nuts, an indication. to me. Of a spanner slipping off under tightening/loosening pressure, of said nut. Then again it could have happened during initial build. I don't think there were sockets or ring spanners around in them there days ???. See you in the next one. 👍👍
Very straight looking engine, what sort of money do these engines go for now? 25 to 30 years ago, a good friend of mine had lots of Lister’s and similar stationery engines. You could pick them up for £30 to £100 easy or cheaper! Keep up the good work👍 I always look forward to your next video👍👍
Yeah I started rallying about 35 years ago and like you say back then you could get a nice engine for 50 quid. Sadly things have moved on a little from those days. I just had to pay 200 for this one. Am sure I will have it running again soon tho. She is a heavy lump tho.
You have got to love these old Engine designers , there was always a reason for doing something right .
Very nice engine, should be an easy job if the carb and mag are good.
Swan necks were always original on the head for the spark plug. They used to snap off and then tapped directly into the head!

If I had the money I would have bought them all
So would I mate. He got a shed with about 10 open cranks, 5 or 6 internationals and a gorgeous little John Deere..
