We sprayed last week bc of the rain expected this week .. We've spent alot hours trying to prep for the rain .. digging to revert water from lower areas . It's been a job but we got it completed and rain has hit our area ! We've also prepped for winter already alot of sheds we got painted and some tin roof repaired as well .. We put in much easier water shut offs completed also .. Next week we decided if rain is gone that is .. we will be building a small shed fully enclosed for just spraying hoses , all pesticides and anything we use outside for animals !! It will also hold our hoses etc .. We got tired of having things spreas out everywhere so we are organizing for safety and convince !! Prepping for winter is so important if you own anything , but for any rancher you know winter can get harder if your not prepared for it ! Our tack room is now organized and so much easier to find things ! Watching y'all video has really helped us in many ways ! Although we only have cattle and horses it's a treat to see y'all set up! Oh my grandaughter is still out there with her metal detector and boy has she been busy with her findings .. making different things that she sells with all her findings ! Such a blessing for her ! I hope next week when all the rain is gone ( maybe?) We can begin doing some painting on the fencing .. Our last goal before winter sets in ! God bless an thanks for the video's !
You can see the instant relief when they came out tails hanging limp instead of steady swatting. We always just run ours under a diesel rub seemed to help but like everything else not a permanent fix. Enjoy the videos y’all thanks for sharing.
How often can you spray cattle ? Just sprayed last weekend (Permethrin) but washed away with rain we’ve been getting. Just wondering how long till I should spray again ?
I saw a RUclips in NY used a little oil along with the spray to get it to hold better. Was almost like a car wash they walked through after feeding. Worked great. I know zero about farming 😂 but it was very effective.
Ruby and baby Onyx look amazing!!!❤❤ I understand why, but it’s a shame they won’t let y’all use ur awesome chute scale to weigh in the steers. It’s a true testament to your parenting when you can send your kids home with a trailer of steers and have full confidence that they can get them home, penned, and then go on to the next thing. It’s awesome! Prayin for big gains for the steers this season!! ♥️&🙏🏻 from Alsdorf!!
@@Bar7Ranch they really are. Productive humans is an understatement. Y’all have done such a fine job teaching them all kinds of skills and how to problem solve, and critically think on their own. Those skills and common sense are not common anymore. You set your kiddos up for success in their own lives. It’s beautiful to watch and inspirational. You also teach them to laugh and love the Lord. Just doesn’t get any better than that!! ♥️🙏🏻
Do y’all like this method over ultraboss ? First year we’ve had to fight pink eye all summer Just looking ideas and input Draxxin and ultraboss has done well for us but looking for other practices
We trim the bottom 2-3 inches off to make them look more uniform. This doesn't prevent them from swatting at flies. It also aids in keep the spread of cockleburs and devils claws traveling in their tails around the pastures.
All cattle are grass fed. Some are exclusively grass fed which makes them taste like the stuff that comes out their backside...lean and dry. Grain finished is the only way to go.

For real. When you sit back and think about it from the outside looking in, they are some amazing kiddos. ❤️

I grew up on a farm in Virginia my father would get so mad when we worked or moved the cattle. It would make me a nervous 😟 wreck!

Hey Cody , what brand of pants are you wearing? They look cool to wear in the summer heat .
Does the fly spray kill the flys ?
Haaaah what a very different farm is the same in my place.

If your days on feed is typically under 200 days, why not just use a coated implant and not worry about reimplanting?
WHY DON'T YOU JUST DRAG THE LOT EVERY OTHER DAY
..NO POOP NO FLYS
❤❤❤👍👍👍
👍
They use fly tags in their ears here where I live. Do they not work there?
We’ve used those as well at times. None work for long. Constant battle.
My dad died last year at age 86 had cattle his entire life. You're right, it is a challenge.
So, why in the world did you cut their tails short. You removed their natural defence.

Why not add a scale to your arrowquip?
We have one. They have to be officially weighed at the sale barn on a set date for the county fair contest.
First one to comment…..Keep Ranchin
Keep Ranchin!

Cody, have you ever noticed that red-hided cows have less flies than black-hided cows?
When they sell their meat will be lable grass fed meat!!! No hormones smh
Ours? No it will not. Stop fear mongering.
