    Good job bro! I think the oil catch can must be under the pcv valve so the condensation of oil go easily to it.. what do you think 🤔

    Can you just get rid of it all and have a breather on top while blocking off the other two holes? What benefit/ disadvantages would this have

    • @Drivewaybuildz
      @Drivewaybuildz  2 года назад

      You can yes and just have a breather on top of rocker cover but the whole point of the catch can is to collect excess condesation and sludge etc from the engine to keep the oil clean.
      just running the standard decanter would be more recommended than blocking it all off and catch can better still.
      Hope this helps

    Besides enviromental reasons is there any benefit from using a catch can instead of the hose just to the floor? I've heard that catchcans due to the need of condensating vapors to turn them liquid make the vapors leave the crancksaft later and can produce backpreasure on the cranksaft. In the other hand by logic I understand that due to the catch can being conected to the admision wich is all the time sucking air can be used as an air extractor compressor for the catch can.

    hi, i've installed same catchcan to my engine and after few hundred miles i notice that it gets filled with a lot of gunk....condense ,oil and all sorts of stuff. Max i've done is 480 miles and is getting more than half full.....my concern is that all that gunk will enter in my engine .
    also i do have a strange missfire when I hit 70 mph on 5th or 6 th gear.... so there might be some entering the engine.....
    any advice....do you ever experience anything like this....? Anyone I can seek for advice in london area?

    • @Drivewaybuildz
      @Drivewaybuildz  2 года назад +1

      Hi.
      That is literally the purpose of a catchcan to catch the gunk and condensation from the engine so that all of that does not recirculate in the engine.
      when it starts to fill up there is a drain plug at the bottom for you to empty it then check your oil level each time you empty the can.
      some catchcans dont really fill up at all and some need to be drained every couple of weeks.
      Hope this helps. 👌

    Can I just put a breather on the PCV closest to ignition coil #4 and block off the other one in the back of the engine?

    • @Drivewaybuildz
      @Drivewaybuildz  3 года назад +1

      you can. will also need to block off the intake pipe aswell. I personally wouldnt recommend doing this though as the system works on pressure and should really be routed back to the intake either directly, via pcv system or catch can. people have routed from top of crank case to catch can then to atmosphere with no issues but i personally wouldnt.

    Hi there,
    Do I see that correctly, that the connection that was closed with the cap leads to overpressure? Can you connect a boost pressure indicator there?
    Sorry for the English, I had it translated with Google.

    • @Drivewaybuildz
      @Drivewaybuildz  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@NDBBDB people would argue that all engines benefit from a catch can. but really the standard setup is just as good.
      just maintain it and clean the segregator out like in my previous video.
      only when you start tuning and running higher temps etc like on track would i recommend a catchcan.
      especially a baffled one which mine is not.
      again thats my opinion so others would disagree or agree.

      The coolant normally does go a tinge of orange after a while from heating and cooling. Not anything to worry about unless your car is over heating. 👍

      i am assuming you mean the pcv/breather. its in the black casing on the top of engine i removed. its not necessary if diverting through a catch can. i wouldn't recommend straight from engine back to intake pipe.
