    Thank you for posting this video. Your video is the only one on the internet that I can find about this particular problem on this specific car. We don't have a torch though so we might have to just pay a shop to replace ours.

      That’s why I made it cause I couldn’t find one either! If you have a breaker bar that’s what was most useful, may be able to without a torch!

    Great tip for blocking the fly wheel. Helped me get the job done on the vehicle I was working on. Pulley was super stuck like yours.

    I pushed a stubby philips screw driver in the fly wheel then turned the pulley with a breaker bar until the flywheel was locked and then used a breaker bar to get the pulley off. The job wasn't that bad.

      I definitely was overthinking the job looking back. Glad I got it off but could’ve taken other methods like you said

      @@TotalDIY2737 Oh nah the Allen wrench was a good idea I just didn't have one because I gave em away after I bought torx sockets and I didn't want to mess my torx bits up. I posted my comment so others will see it in case they don't have an Allen wrench and of course to keep from buying or having to rent a fly wheel holder.✌🏿

    I just took a rigid impact wrench, the upgraded one with 1100 lb reverse torque, and it came right off. Good video though man

    • @TotalDIY2737
      @TotalDIY2737  2 года назад +2

      I didn’t have a battery impact wrench with much torque, but I did have a air impact with about 500 lbs of reverse torque. Guess I just needed more juice!

    • @willsrestorations
      @willsrestorations 2 года назад +1

      @@TotalDIY2737 yeah more juice is always the way to go, it's the hammering effect that causes the vibration when you use an impact wrench and a lot of people don't understand that, also it really helps to put some PB blaster or rust buster on that a day or two before you disassemble and also about 15 minutes before you put the impact on that bolt, you'd be amazed how quickly that shit comes off

    • @willsrestorations
      @willsrestorations 2 года назад +1

      Yeah if you have a good impact wrench the hammering effect is always the best way to get it off and when you use an impact wrench you get that hammering effect and heavy vibration which breaks free all the rust and you can always use PB blaster the day before you take it off and then 10 minutes before you actually remove it you could spray on some more rust buster, I've never had one give me a problem.

      Agreed! If I had a better air gun or air hammer definitely would’ve been helpful!

      @@TotalDIY2737 I've seen people try to remove them by spinning the bolt counterclockwise and had to laugh my ass off.

    DOHC engine 2004 Ford? Have used PB Blaster for the exhaust bolts and I applied it three times two weeks before and tap it firmly, then four days before and tap it firmly, the day before I worked on the bolts I applied it again to firmly tap the bolts or nuts maybe both, so I don't smell it the day I am working on it! Rusted bolts snapped but otherwise I have been successful! Elbow grease and the breaker bar plus extension 😅.

      I do those same things!! I feel like exhaust bolts break too easily sometimes…but sounds like you had success thats always a plus!

    I wonder if you could put a wrench on the inside bolt and hit it hard it would come out..

    • @TotalDIY2737
      @TotalDIY2737  2 месяца назад

      Possibly, I can’t recall if I did try that, but depending on the amount of rust buildup that could certainly work

    Is it the same for RHD vehicles....would you turn the same direction to loosen

    • @TotalDIY2737
      @TotalDIY2737  Год назад +2

      I can’t say for sure without the manual for your car. I found that very useful as I had never heard of a reverse threaded part/bolt before. I would highly suggest looking for forums online for your car though as I found those very helpful in things my manual didn’t talk about. The Haynes manuals are great if they have one for your car!

    Hello, my 2000 Taurus OHV, I need to turn the engine through crankshaft bolt. May you please tell me whether I should turn it anti-clockwise? Thank you!

    • @TotalDIY2737
      @TotalDIY2737  8 месяцев назад +1

      Never turn it the opposite way it’s supposed to turn. If you need to, you will need to block off the flywheel first or use a powerful impact gun! It helps to watch the belt spin when car is on to see which way the motor spins

    • @ask43242flight
      @ask43242flight 8 месяцев назад

      @@TotalDIY2737 I don't need to loosen the bolt instead I just need to turn the engine to TDC. The crankshaft turns clockwise when the car is running. So I think I can safely turn it clock-wise.

    I got a 2002 ford tourist s e with a 3.0l motor turns Am I post too to go the opposite way of the motor to spin it off or what

    • @TotalDIY2737
      @TotalDIY2737  9 месяцев назад +1

      So because it is reverse to remove it, You would need to find a way to block the flywheel as I did so that you don’t turn the motor in reverse. Or a very powerful impact gun may do the job. I chose to use a breaker bar so I had to block my flywheel.

    1000ft pound impack 16mm impact socket came right off problem I'm having now is the pully doesn't turn with crank just the harmonic bolt is just spinning with belt on and not turning the belt brand new part

    Wouldn’t having the vehicle on park have the same effect if wheels are on the ground? Since there is room to crawl under.
