your baking videos do really well because of how chaotic you are. it's like watching a seal walk on land. sure, it can do it, but not without looking absolutely hysterical
Right? I'm so sick of those over sanitized baking influencers in picture perfect kitchens. I like seeing someone who has no idea what they're doing eff it up royally.
I love how Dakota is so supportive, helping with the videos while also throwing in passive aggressive comments from the off. “What if I made all 100 cookies?” “No.” 😂
Nick, you can sprinkle sea salt either before the cookies go in the oven OR right when you take them out, either should work. Great video, keep it up!! (Also, you should get the Baking Yesteryear book by Dylan Hollis!!)
The background music is adorable. Also FINALLY ANOTHER PERSON WHO LOVES TAGALONGS! Growing up I never knew anyone else who liked Tagalongs, everyone was always about Thin Mints. I never understood!
Thank you for making me smile today...my dad was diagnosed with a second type of cancer today after already doing radiation this past year..so it has been a day and I just needed to laugh.❤
I always look forward to a Nick video. Why? Because I know there will be at least one Matteo dig, Matteo won't come barging in talking like Liza, and won't talk about pasta carbonara. You should get the KitchenAid scraper attachment, it'll scrape the side of the bowl while it spins. I bought one not knowing it wouldn't fit my KitchenAid model. :(
Salt doesn't "melt" like sugar does when it's heated so you SHOULD put finishing salt on as soon as they come out of the oven because at that point the cookies are warm and have a sheen that the salt will adhere to as they cool.
Nick, salt doesn't melt from heat! Dampen them slightly or brush with butter and the salt will stick. That's what is done on pretzels or sprinkle un baked dough so it sticks you could even slightly tap the dough ball into the salt B4 putting on the sheet
06:12 "I really do love baking" -- I laughed out loud, this looks like such a stressful experience! I know you work in NYC real estate tho, maybe you love chaos?
I'm a minute and 14 seconds in, and I had to pause just to say you are my all-time favorite youtuber 😂 Don't ever stop putting your hand behind the item, in this case ingredients, to show them ...
The fact Nick thinks heat from cookies would melt salt sent me running around my living room. Salt "melts" at around 1400 degrees F*. I bake often, you add the salt right out of the oven so it sticks.
This needs to be a show. Maybe a competition? Three teams. Two people per team. One films and one bakes. Funny commentary. A judge decides who's tastes the best, but the twist is one of the teams secretly switches the baked goods for store bought. The team that tastes the best wins, unless the store bought item is chosen, then the judge wins? I'm not sure about the last part.
Honestly Nick, you would be a master cookie baker if you went through that entire book. Also, it’s a great thing to come back to when you run out of ideas of what to film lol. That’s another 2-3 years of easy content for your RUclips right there.
You are for sure getting better at baking Nick! I would add the salt while the dough is still wet so that the salt can stick to it. Also careful with how much you do since the recipe already has salt in it. Hope that helps! ❤ Also are you going to serve any of your homemade cookies at an open house? If so you must film it if possible!
Nick; I watch all kinds of cooking shows; love baking....but yours have that certain "at home and mistakes happen" and I kinda like yours because what other cooking/baking show would have the host say it looks like I fisted Cookie Monster? I love to see mistakes and / or experiments....like melting butter instead of room temperature. Remember that cooking and baking are like high school science experiments; make sure you have things prepared before shooting; follow the recpe because they all come together for a reason....like why you can't just add dry to wet all at once. The chemistry the food produces with each other is important. My husband, by the way, thinks you have beautiful eyes :) I'll keep watching. xoxo
Nick, you mentioned chocolate chip cookies with walnuts. My Mom made the best and she always put walnuts in hers. Thanks for reminding me of Mom's cookies. She also made a great sugar cookie that had buttermilk in them and they were delish! I ask you, who doesn't love a good cookie? Anyone who doesn't love a good cookie isn't worth knowing! Love your videos!
Nick should bake his way thru the cookie book like in the movie Julie Julia. By the times he’s done he’ll be a pro & capable of creating his own recipes.
i just noticed the bowl you melted the butter in has a metal rim. i thought metal in a microwave was dangerous. ok the bowl is a little worn but i still wouldn't risk it again nick.
I've added cold butter when making cookies - straight from the fridge....It's not great, but you just need to process it more....(At least that worked for me)
I love watching him bake 😂 Also! Adding salt after baking: spritz water (not droplets) over cookies and then sprinkle salt Or add before baking. Idk. I don't salt the tops of cookies lol
Yes definately do the 100 cookies. If you like walnuts in your cookies. just add some to your fav choc chip recipe. You can make easy cookies from your fav cake mix. just add 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of butter. mix.. chill then use a small trigger release scooper to make perfect shaped balls onto parchment lined cookie sheet you can add nuts or sprinkles or sprinkle your maldan salt on top I tried my smoked salt and skor bits (scooper helps to scoop without having to roll with your hands.) you can bake a pan and scoop the rest into a freezer safe container. to bake anytime you feel like cookies without the mixing and cleanup bake at 350 for 10 min Have fun baking! have fun
Am with you Nick...the Tagalongs and shortbreads are my favorites as well. i love putting the Tagalongs in the freezer or fridge. Cookies looked amazing. If you make the sugar cookies will you be icing/frosting the tops?
I’m here because I heard a rumor that Nick was giving up his day job to open a bakery. Wanted to see if it’s true. At least he will not starve. Maybe? 👍❤️ Paul
I don't bake... it requires rule following and science. I cook by senses and rarely follow directions. When someone wants a recipe of mine, they have to watch me cook and write down what I do.
Nah, recipe instructions are there for kicks and giggles. Quelle surprise when choices are made that I Dream Of Jeanie blinks of wishing do not happen. 🙄

21.4K more subscribers to go until we get a singing video from Nick! (yes, we did not forget)
😂 you better get people to start subscribing!
Subscribed! I want that to happen. Lol Nick! We love the cooking videos because the struggles are real❤go for the 100😊
I'm so glad you said this. I came to comments to ask why Nick doesn't sing. If only I could subscribe twice!!!
Lets gooo people 😻🙌🏼
@@NickSmith09 done
I want to see you make all 100 🍪 's, definitely! 😄👏
Thought I left a comment, maybe not. You sold out the cookie book already, Sarah better be grateful!
Wait!? Really?!😂
@@Eyes_Unclouded no. not really
How about now?!?!
I love how Dakota is so supportive, helping with the videos while also throwing in passive aggressive comments from the off. “What if I made all 100 cookies?” “No.” 😂

“….no 😔”
“😒😏”
Says to tap it... Proceeds to slam it. You rock, Nick!!
Your cooking videos are popular because you're at your most hilarious in the kitchen. You and food preparation never fail to hugely entertain. 😂❤
Plus we’re waiting to see if he will cut off a finger! 😂
@@Marvelous0ne 😬😄😅🤣
It is like the people who watch car races because want to see a crash.
Look what the Food Network is missing out on.
We need to see more of Nick in his baking era.
I'm here for it
Oh, how you brighten my day, Mr Smith. 🖤
Nick, you can sprinkle sea salt either before the cookies go in the oven OR right when you take them out, either should work. Great video, keep it up!!
(Also, you should get the Baking Yesteryear book by Dylan Hollis!!)
"Can you leave one unsalted?" "NONE OF THEM ARE SALTED." 🤣🤣😂
Literally not a single one had salt on it😂
Lmaooo “if I knew Sarah, and I don’t” 😂😂😂 I needed some BigNickEnergy so bad today. ❤
The background music is adorable. Also FINALLY ANOTHER PERSON WHO LOVES TAGALONGS! Growing up I never knew anyone else who liked Tagalongs, everyone was always about Thin Mints. I never understood!
I love tagalongs, but I hate that you only get 12 in a box!
@@usagi32211 Seriously!
The chaos of Nick's baking is great. And yes, I would love to see you bake all 100 varieties of cookies.
NICK: "I don't have anymore sticks of butter!!"
ALSO NICK: * throws new stick of butter in the microwave *
As long as the result is edible, it's a success! 🍪
I definitely think you should do all 100 cookies. Would be a fun video series.❤
Thank you for making me smile today...my dad was diagnosed with a second type of cancer today after already doing radiation this past year..so it has been a day and I just needed to laugh.❤
Sending love to you and your dad 🫶🏼🥺
1:07 The cooking vids should be called "Adventures in the Kitchen with Nick Smith". Cuz u do what u want despite what the instructions say 😆
I always look forward to a Nick video. Why? Because I know there will be at least one Matteo dig, Matteo won't come barging in talking like Liza, and won't talk about pasta carbonara. Send it to Nick!! ☺️ He should get a PO box
Salt doesn't "melt" like sugar does when it's heated so you SHOULD put finishing salt on as soon as they come out of the oven because at that point the cookies are warm and have a sheen that the salt will adhere to as they cool.
I love how you just deviate from the recipe and do your own thing and yet you’re still surprised when it doesn’t turn out right… 😂😂😂
Honestly that's my go to baking experience
Just what I needed to start my day, no joke!!
an episode about cookies! yesssss!!!!!
I love how high Nick's self esteem is when in regards to his kitchen skills.
Nick, salt doesn't melt from heat! Dampen them slightly or brush with butter and the salt will stick. That's what is done on pretzels or sprinkle un baked dough so it sticks you could even slightly tap the dough ball into the salt B4 putting on the sheet

You shouting at your microwave when the timer goes off is exactly what I do when I cook because I too cook/bake chaotically
Omg the opening line. Cookie Monster had an “ experience” 😂
The fact Nick thinks heat from cookies would melt salt sent me running around my living room. Salt "melts" at around 1400 degrees F*. I bake often, you add the salt right out of the oven so it sticks.
QUOTE OF THE DAY "Looks like Matteo B4 hair transplant"
10/10 would watch Nick work his way through 100 cookie recipes.
I'm here for you baking your way through the whole book
"sarah may be a lot of things" but doesn't actually know sarah😂 maybe try the salt before putting them in the oven nextime? just guessing hehe
"if I know. Sarah, and I don't" . . . 🤣

Do it!! Make it a series…making all the cookies and end with the sugar cookie. And to the cameraman/bf don’t question Nick. He is the master baker. 💜💜

You can Add flake salt before baking.
it wont melt.
or just squish a crunchy pretzel on top before baking

“Beat the butter until creamy. 👀 📒 OK, Sarah!”
I had a really shitty day and I was happy to see Nick upload a new video. Yay ❤
Watching the timer countdown behind him while reading the recipe book made my anxiety spike 😂
I love when you throw shade at Matteo! 🍪
I hate baking, but love these baking videos ❣️🥰
Nick is my favorite!
Nick, if I order will you bake. I'd love to gobble up the cookies, it's my diabetic dream come true.
I always forget to take the butter out of the fridge, but I cream them with a mixer anyway. I don’t notice much difference.
Can we get a fast food/chain restaurant tier list?
I 2nd getting the Baking Yesteryear cookbook. Dylan is great...and a colab would be amazing!
She just released her 5th cookbook. 500 recipes is a lot of content for the channel😊
OMG Nick! I just realized that Matteo's kitchen is bigger than yours !
Nooo😭😭
"You better whisk it for the biscuit!"
Way to go, Nick! Next time...with walnuts!
Although you got a solid "NO", i kinda want to see you make all 100 cookies 🍪
Nick should bake his way thru the cookie book like in the movie Julie Julia. By the times he’s done he’ll be a pro & capable of creating his own recipes.
I think you absolutely should do all 100 cookies... But you need a new camera person!😂
i just noticed the bowl you melted the butter in has a metal rim. i thought metal in a microwave was dangerous. ok the bowl is a little worn but i still wouldn't risk it again nick.
It's paint not metal. But good call!
that voice and you bake as well. what a dreamboat. ha
Who knew chocolate chip cookies would be so stressful. Lol
I mean maybe not all hundred but this actually could be this years Christmas series on your channel 😍😍
I googled cookie tapping, and sarah's name came up.
Tapping is exactly what you did...who knew?
Not casual LOTR blasphemy 😭
I needed this , my day has been rough and you always make me smile thabk you for being there for all of us who need a laugh ❤
I don't know what looks more anemic, Nick or the cookies. 😟
😂😂
Oh yes, I want to see you make all 100 types of cookies! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Totally do all 100, you'll be the next Julie & Julia!!
this child...just go get some oreo cookies, throw some vanilla icing on them and call it a day, I got things to do...boo...jk...you're hilarious...lol
Nick again on the schedule to brighten my day 🌞🌸☺️
Aaaaand now I want cookies... Ten bucks says your kitchen smelled heavenly
I should be getting hungry from this but all I get from Nick is anxiety...
Who's behind the camera? They're annoyingly passive aggressive 😅❤
sprinkle the salt in the raw dough before they go in the oven, salt doesn't generally melt like sugar
I've added cold butter when making cookies - straight from the fridge....It's not great, but you just need to process it more....(At least that worked for me)
Google Analytics knows.. i fall out of my chair laughing when you do a baking video.. hence.. i return for more!
I love watching him bake 😂
Also! Adding salt after baking: spritz water (not droplets) over cookies and then sprinkle salt
Or add before baking. Idk. I don't salt the tops of cookies lol
Nick. These cookies should definitely be added to the Olive Garden’s desert menu.
Yes definately do the 100 cookies.
If you like walnuts in your cookies. just add some to your fav choc chip recipe.
You can make easy cookies from your fav cake mix.
just add 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of butter. mix.. chill then use a small trigger release scooper to make perfect shaped balls onto parchment lined cookie sheet
you can add nuts or sprinkles or sprinkle your maldan salt on top
I tried my smoked salt and skor bits
(scooper helps to scoop without having to roll with your hands.)
you can bake a pan and scoop the rest into a freezer safe container.
to bake anytime you feel like cookies without the mixing and cleanup
bake at 350 for 10 min
Have fun baking!
have fun
In Australia we say ‘That’s the Coca Cola Challenge’ to make all 100 cookies and make Sarah proud . One down, 99 to go, you can do it Nick ✊✊👍
Why are you staring into my soul in the thumbnail 😂
Am with you Nick...the Tagalongs and shortbreads are my favorites as well. i love putting the Tagalongs in the freezer or fridge. Cookies looked amazing. If you make the sugar cookies will you be icing/frosting the tops?
