When I was a child, around the late 1990s in Batam (a small island city near Singapore), I had so many friends who came from East Timor. They attend the same elementary school as me and live in a mosque which are used as a kind of "shelter" or orphanage for them. There are no adults, only school-age children. At first I thought they were all young refugees who chose to become Indonesian citizens after East Timor decided to independent from Indonesia. But after seeing this documentary, I suspect that my old elementary school friends who came from East Timor might be victims of abduction or even human trafficking, because I remember that some of them used to look depressed and homesick for their homeland and their families, some of them even try to escaped. They also seemed to be indoctrinated that their parents in East Timor didn't love them and Indonesian saved them so that they were obliged to love Indonesia. Hopefully they can return to their homeland and be able to meet their parents and families.

Aditya H most of these invasions had Muslims claiming another type of Muslims were persecuting them: Iraq has Shia Muslims claiming they were persecuted by Sunni Muslims and Syria has Sunni Muslims claiming they are persecuted by Shia Muslims. They do this because of what it says in the Quran chapter 2 191 claiming to be persecuted Justified killing disbelievers which were anybody who didn't believe exactly the same version of Islam. As an Indonesian, I've never known about this before. Probably, Indonesian government and media cover it up. I did learn about conflict in East Timor at school, but the topic about this kidnapping never came up.
It's true history is determined by the winner, and you should never blatantly trust what the government tell you, especially if it is related to conflict.

And to finish Portugal is the country that sends more aid to East Timor.

do you know that the separatists of independent Papua have killed civilians, health workers, construction workers, tribal chiefs, priests and our officers. And also if you don't know that the independent Papuan separatists once took 1,300 villagers from Papua itself and have been rescued by our officers,And after all that, do you still think that free Papuan separatists represent all Papuans? And fortunately, now many independent Papuan separatists have returned to Indonesia. They realized that they had been tricked by their senior.

It's betel leaf (sirih). It turns red when you chew it. Many of my older indonesian relatives chew it instead of brushing their teeth regularly, believing it as antiseptic. I think it's like the old romans used to chew basil/parsley.

I would have liked to watch this video but I’m not gonna watch it and be required to read subtitles throughout the whole video. It’s not difficult to do a voiceover. I almost dislike this video by doing a thumbs down but I decided I wouldn’t do that because I like the channel since that’s the BBC. But I’m not gonna watch a video without a voiceover. So hopefully in the future you will have a voice over actors. You don’t even have to have a different actor for a different people, you could even have the actual host be the one that reads the words. Anything is fine.
