very cool 3rd single from the upcoming cd in flight. cannot wait to see cover and tracklist for the new bnl cd. but hey i like this song. the other two lovin life and too old were awesome. mike bnl fan since 91
Sweet video reminds me of when skating rinks were popular and we would have a blast skating/dancing around on the skates 🛼 and having a blast on dates or just hanging out with friends.
so where'd you hear it? and it's better than the last one? the last one had some really good ones and some i didn't care for they weren't awful by any means
@@Thisisjamesgoh okay my mistake for me their last one I loved was silverball fake nudes and detour de force or whatever it was called both had some good ones but they aren't as good some of the earlier albums. But they weren't terrible albums either
We all have eternal life. The question is where will you spend it. Jesus died on the cross for you. He who hears my word (JESUS) and believes in Him (GOD) who sent me will have eternal life! He will not be condemned, he has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24
Musically, this song sounds a bit like Pinch Me, but you know what the difference is? Specificity (and also dark humour.) They are both pop songs, but Pinch Me evokes a certain surreal suburban ennui that is actually really interesting when you think about the lyrics. It's a song about depression and existentialism in an idyllic bubble in the suburbs and it holds a lot of goosebump-inducing darkness under it's melodic pop exterior. It has a juxtaposition between dumb dad jokes (I could hide out under there/I just made you say underwear) and actually pretty haunting and existentially depressing lyrics (On an evening such as this/ It's hard to tell if I exist / If I pack the car and leave this town / Who'll notice that I'm not around?) It's the unusual and specific details in that song that make it interesting, such as putting the sprinkler on the lawn and running through with your gym shorts on and taking a drink right from the hose. Specific details that are real and nostalgic and that we all remember and can actually relate to. It talks about the urge to just drive away from everything, but deciding not to because "all my stuff's here anyway" - which is such a strong commentary on how everyone feels trapped by the stuff they own. It's a specific song that talks about a specific feeling. But this song? One Night? Find me ONE specific or relatable detail in the lyrics. You absolutely cannot. Every single line is a cliche that, upon closer inspection, is totally meaningless. They are all repeated phrases borrowed from countless other songs that are easy to remember and sing but that don't tell a story. "Take another record off the shelf" "We only got one night" "If you got a malady, I got the remedy" "Nothing to lose" You could make about 100 different music videos for this song, because the lyrics aren't really ABOUT anything. It's like a song written by ChatGPT - it follows a catchy songwriting format but it's devoid of any original thought or expression.
""Pinch Me" was, I think, the last song to be written for the record. I wrote it up on the third floor of my house, just feeling a bit melancholy; sometimes you look around, and things are great, and you just kind of feel down, and there's no reason for you to - you have an inability to appreciate your surroundings sometimes. That's what I was trying to get at, some of the boredom of pristine suburbia and the potential lying under every yawn. I had a basic framework in mind, but couldn't finish it off, really. It was a hard one to write, because of the sort of quick singing/rapping; I was so scared people were gonna go, "Oh, it's like 'One Week,'" which it isn't. But I was so paranoid about what people would think that that I almost didn't write it. ---Ed Robertson Ed, are you being paranoid again about what people will think? Is that why you are writing cliche say-nothing songs where you don't actually touch on any specific and real human experiences? Stop worrying. Write what's real and true.
Man, we used to have one week, now all we got is one night!
Watch yourself, or we'll cut it down to one hour

Okay for a band that has humorous lyrics they are way beyond that if you listen to their whole catalog. This is just another example its great.
WOW! Dudes keep it up ! One of your best videos btw
It’s been one night since you looked at me .

Though simplistic, the lyrics are about the connection they have with the audience when they do shows.

Ok its Old Apartment moved up a half step to the key of natural B.
Great song , but obviously that’s a record company video , because the video sucks. It’s not in the genre of BNL music .
Agreed. I like the song; the video is just meh.
Only 31K views. BNL has fallen off a cliff....must be because all songs sound the same since Page left.
I dunno, I feel like you guys are kinda stagnating lyrically lately. There's just not much meat here.
Well that’s just modern bnl it’s just isn’t the same without Steven page
I am not feeling this one. Feels too generic for me. TOO OLD was way richer than this one.
Video sucks but song is great
A corner of the msm and groups like this want to push this couple as being stereotypical. Just weird.
personally i think it's disgusting that THEY are trying to force together such disparate groups as skateboarders and roller skaters
7 times worse than One Week
😂haha
ew
Why are two 30 year olds acting like they are 18-20.....it's just.......weird
I love it :)
People are supposed to stop skating at 20? That's news to me, a 42 year old who makes good money teaching roller skating lessons.... to adults 😅
as if 30 year olds cant skate? what exactly is "acting like 18-20"? this comment is so werid...
