Yeah, this is a great game. I've had a lot of fun with it over the years. It's such a shame that the Dead Space franchise ended up the way it did. There was so much potential there...
@@emulation2369 Yeah, that's true but the core team of visceral games expressed their wish to make another one if they had the chance. I know that they are disbanded but i'm a hoper.
EA said that single player games are dead, i don't expect any new offline game from them. The only hope you should have is a new dead space-like game named Negative Atmosphere
I got this on my ps3 but I'm stuck at the flashlight part cuz my controllers can't to the shake thing. I got dead space franchise cuz I started liking horror and the whole series was like 12 bucks at a trade store in my mall. Big fan so far. Very gripping
If you're on a rail-shooter mood, check out The House of the Dead: Overkill and Time Crisis: Razing Storm. Both for PS3, with Move support. The first one is available digital, the second one only at retail but it comes with Time Crisis 4 and Deadfall Pirates, I believe.
I too was pleasantly surprised with this game when I got the Dead Space 2: Limited Edition when it first released. I played it with the Dual Shock 3 controller and really enjoyed it.
Another great review. I mentioned this in your Dead Space 1 review but I’ll just lay it out here again. If you’re looking to review the multiplayer portions of DS2/3 then I’ll be happy to help. I play on the X360/One versions of the game, if you don’t have the X360 versions then that’s fine.
Reviews for 2 and 3 are already complete. Friday reviews are always completed and uploaded months before the audience sees them. We do appreciate the offer to assist, though. Thank you.
Gaming Pastime Damn, so you didn’t review the multiplayer portions of the game? They really didn’t matter except for Dead Space 3’s coop which is where you would get all the offerings from the game. Looking forward to seeing the review though.
I just purchased this game on the Wii. I used to rent it back on gamefly back in the day. I know the PS3 has HD,Wide screen support but somethinh about the Wii remote feels right for this game. I tried the PS3 version and the game looks cleaner but the controls Don't feel right. Plus I like the extra content on the Wii version. Listening to the comic stuff is good lore wise.
No it’s not! Cex have them in stock for a fiver each. They did not have one at my local store so I ordered it instead and it only £1.50 postage and it’s on the way. Should get it this morning 😄😄😄
Can I give you some feedback? I've watched a few of your videos (and will likely watch more in future) and you seem to always list off all the weapons in games. I don't think this is necessary in a review, I actually think it's both kind of boring and even a little spoilery, discovering new weapons in games is fun. You could just broadly mention how much weapon variety and creativity there is instead. Also you say 'subsequent' weirdly. :P
This game is long?...Hell, thought it was short. Easily beaten in a day. Since I have the Wii version the only thing I didn't like is the motion control. I always thought it was a stupid concept. At least I get to watch the motion comics. I didn't know the PS3 didn't have it. This was my introduction to Dead Space. A Christmas gift. I really enjoyed it then I bought the DS Downfall move. Also really good. I don't know much else about this series, but I hope to learn more if I read the books. By the way, at the end...Did Lexene die or was that a hallucination? Hard to tell with everyone loosing their minds.
Me, looking at some move controllers. Me vomiting at these ridiculous prices for these controller. ME LAUGHING I IMPORTED DEAD SPACE 2 LIMITED EDITION without knowing. I do like the WII even when I can not buy it without dying. I have a really bad (love) - hate relationship with anything after the GBA. I agree nintendo has good consoles but I dislike the games, so I am happy to know I can already install Extraction and only need the move controllers which go up to 90€ yay
Wish we got to play as Lexine in this game. Then see her get chloroformed by a nurse on the med deck like that one scene we got for Elizabeth Comstock in the Burial At Sea DLC for Bioshock Infinite.
This game absolutely spits on the face of the entire dead space franchise. It's story is bare bones, the sound effects recycled and not updated, and it curb stomps the games appeal: being careful of your surroundings, and exploring them for upgrades: In this game your on a rail cart being pushed from point A to B, it is the textbook definition of a game that is simply a big fucking hallway, or BFH. This game could of actually been the franchise killer instead of EA in my opinion.
@@valkyrialylatte321 you really Don't like the game. It's a rail shooter. You know like the kind you play at the Arcade. You must not play those much. The game is pretty good and It's hardly a franchise killer. It was the 2nd game released of the Deas Space series and the game did nothing wrong. It added what was going down before Isaac got there. Dead Space 3 is a franchise killer.

I love the lore. Marker pretty scary.
Boy, have I got news for you
Ouhhhh, a new channel with potential out of nowhere in my feed!
Looking forward to see you grow, mate :).
I hope all of these Dead Space videos that were made lately will renew EA's interest in the series. Btw. great review as usual.
Original dev team with the vision is gone so who cares

Don't forget about the Dead Space 2 DLC that continued the story from Dead Space Extraction
I didnt know dead space 2 had dlc. I'll have to play it after I beat dead space 2 a 3rd time.
Just recently played this on the Wii. Surprisingly fun with a great story. Next to Ghost Squad, my favorite rail shooter on the system.

Possibly the highest rated rail shooter plus was my first Dead Space game where shooting the head didn't work only dismemberment.
I loved this game. Here’s a little secret: just like in the first game, pay attention to those chapter names.
It would be cool if this game was remade in VR
Didn't know this game is sold on the ps3 store still, need to get it and finish it.
Ken B. I'm playing it now on the ps3.also got it day one on the wii and still own that copy.Great games!
U love on rails shooters!!!!!! Keeps the pace going well
I might have to check this one out since I have Dead Space 2 but it has the demo version of this. Thanks Gaming Pastime for the review
Same

If I may out in a request, please do hollow knight. The games hand drawn and flat out beautiful, also will you be doing a video on ready or not?
I got to play this on the Wii and end up buying this on my PS3 and I really enjoyed it
I played this on my PC using an emulator and I had such a great time. Playing this game with a mouse is a pure joy. Would recommend to everyone.

This is one game I really want for my wii. Its so hard to find a physical copy now of days.

better on wii or ps3?
This comes recommended from me if you are into the lore of the series, and you get to see a couple of places you didn't explore with Isaac.
Imagine if this was an arcade game like those ones where you sit inside a booth and play
I love everything about dead space games, movies, comics and books
lol that last part
Dead Space 2 is next right?
Yes
@@Gamingpastime64 Awesome, cause I thought that was this week.
Gaming Pastime Are you going to review the multiplayer portion of the game? Because I can help with that if you got the X360 version.
I can see if I cask the online as well
ClammyMercury39 Want to help?
I had this on the wii
best way to play it
Don't forget to review Mobile and xbox arcade Dead Space games!
I'm not joking.....I'm Batman....ok?
This great on rails classic game would be excellent on VR.

I played this on the Wii :) Fun game.
House of the Dead Space
This game is still solid even without the move controllers.
P.S. you can safely pass on Dead Space: Downfall.
I wish they had released this on pc
Have you tried emulation?
just play it on Dolphin emulator
Imagine dead space vr
Why did you spoil the entire story?
Shame EA didnt release this on PC.
I doubt I would have played this if it had not been included with Dead Space 2, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was

Well it is a rail shooter. Designed as a rail shooter.
That's the same as saying "Well it is a hallway, designed as a hallway."
Well it succeeded at what it was trying to do is my point. It's a rail shooter. It wasn't meant to be like the others.
and due to that died into obscurity, good riddance.
