    Pretty cool! I've seen photos during the steam days when crews would move shay-type steam locomotives in the exact same manner as shown here. Impressive!

    look up flying cat logging and they have a newer at the time 527 I think and you can hear the cables talking it is awesome

    this was up around forks am i right. i met a guy named *dee* he supposedly helped rig these for lifting. redhead bad ears anyhow.     we'll walk cats into cable units for flatter areas, but flying one in? never. Is that a D6?

      Yes, it's a D6. They flew three of them across the canyon for the job.

    Perhaps mstaff657 heard incorrectly. In the video, someone suggests that the Cat weighs "maybe 35,000." That is consistent with your approximation of 30,000. Sounds like you know your stuff.
