I think its a reincarnation type of deal with the guardian. Fits certain cultures where the guardian deity may use a mortal as a vessel and they take on its likeness and nature. Also explains why he calls himself a immortal god. He is after a fashion though unsure about how many of the deities properties are kept along with the mortals consciousness.

Without my glasses at first, when I saw the notification, I thought it said "Birthdayest Birthday" In any case, hoping Manly and everyone else had a great Christmas, I remember that this game was an interesting experience to play
Okay so... this is so cool. I hope it gets finished! Some elements are fascinating. Like the names of the two brothers. We never got to hear the name of the playable character - each time either he doesn't remember or someone interrupts when Rocc is about to say it or something else. And Rocc himself, I'm pretty sure his name references the Rokh/Rock/Roc bird, a mythological bird from persian and indian origins. It was a fabulous bird that was both an ominous sign of imminent death and a symbol of immortality and renewal, and the guardian of the Tree of Wisdom. And according to some stories, it spread darkness with it's great wings. Pretty accurate, depending on how you look at it, right? Names aside, I really like the overall atmosphere and mood of the story. The gameplay looks fine enough. It looks tough, and I'm pretty bad at not turn based games, but that may be a case similar to Owlboy, where the game can be brutal and I have to try and try and try again, but I still persevere because I love the game and want to enjoy it myself. So yeah, I'll probably be getting it. Heh, funny how both games include a bird protagonist. Speaking of being a bird, my assumption would be one villager always inherits the title of Guardian, at least seemingly at random (it doesn't seem to be a lineage thing). My guess would be that Rocc and his brother are actual blood related brothers, but Rocc was born a Guardian, and thus, a bird-person. Or maybe this is a transformation that happens at a young age in Guardians. If he wasn't born like that, it must have happened when he was very young, considering he's obviously totally at ease and used to being what he is. Also, I'm curious - does the demo have two endings? Depending on how you ended the fight with Rocc? When he reaches his last HP bar, he doesn't seem to fight back anymore, and the bar depletes fairly quickly, from what I've seen. Sooo... is it possible to stop fighting at that point, or does the game force you to actually beat him down? Anyway, really great game, with great art. I love the character designs too - very simple but effective... Man I got attached to these boys so quickly!

_Bird Boy Meets Metal Girl_ It started as an action game, then became a meet & greet rpg & thesaurus of anime expressions. It's an interesting beginning if a bit talky for me as a non-slice-of-life fan.

I think a really good way to play this for a good ending would be at the end you kick him, and then he's instantly down, and you have to do the final blow while he's on one knee. I think, when he has that low life, if you do nothing he just passes out anyway. Thus, you don't kill him. It's the *overkill* damage that actually kills him.
This game kind of reminds me of Crosscode. The overall look, the way Dialogue is presented... I like Crosscode a lot, so looking forward to this one too!

This game looks sick??? I hope it doesn't lean TOO hard on the chuuni angle, it's kinda cute - and I do like the idea of a chuuni that is both 1) actually the Real Deal Chosen One Whatever and 2) out-chuuni'd by much older Real Deal Demon Lord Whatevers - but it could get really old really quick. Need to ease up on it I think. The combat looks great, the design on the main Rocc fight looked awesome. One of the perks of bullet hell stuff like this is that the actual engine can be very simplistic and as long as you make strong, memorable bosses then you really don't have to do much more than that. Either way looking forward to sharing around the kickstarter then totally forgetting about it for two years rofl

Idea for a short wideo. Play "one last game" a very short horror that makes you wonder and sometimes, even emotional and leaves you with at least one question, or more in my case.

This game looks sick??? I hope it doesn't lean TOO hard on the chuuni angle, it's kinda cute - and I do like the idea of a chuuni that is both 1) actually the Real Deal Chosen One Whatever and 2) out-chuuni'd by much older Real Deal Demon Lord Whatevers - but it could get really old really quick. Need to ease up on it I think.
The combat looks great, the design on the main Rocc fight looked awesome. One of the perks of bullet hell stuff like this is that the actual engine can be very simplistic and as long as you make strong, memorable bosses then you really don't have to do much more than that.
Either way looking forward to sharing around the kickstarter then totally forgetting about it for two years rofl
