Thank you for the suggestion. I’m preparing for the United States Medical Licensing Exam and it requires undivided attention. I will be uploading videos soon!
I'm a bit surprised about your checklist. I'm a paramedic from Germany and of course we have our checklists as well, but it's rather brief compared to yours. Seems like you have to check every single item, even security stickers (btw what are those? Some kind of safety sign like "watch your head / step" at the side door etc)? And you check registration stickers, inspection stickers and oil at the beginning of every shift? On our checklist for each shift we just put in the date, shift-name, write down how much pressure there's in the 3 O2 cylinders and if we have spare O2 cylinder on board, if everything with the ECG, suction unit and ventilator is working, if normal medication and narcotics are checked, if the CO-warning device works and if the ambulance itself is okay ... it's by far not as detailed as your checklist. There are more detailed checks e.g. concerning expiration dates on medication or service stickers on the number plates on the 1st of each month, no need to check is every single day. What's the OOS sign? And why do you use pillows on your cots? At some compartments I'm surprised on how much empty room there's left, e.g. where you show some of the outside compartments or inside compartment with the pedriatric stethoscope 4:40 isn't there some kind of cover to secure the spare bottle at the top that it doesn't get damaged? We don't have ballistic vests ... don't really feel the need to have one here
@@nycstreetsmd Too bad that there's no cover; Here a truck wouldn't be allowed to leave the company which does the service and refill on these bottles if there's no cover on the tanks; Just a simple plastic cover but alot safer in case something hits the top of it; And at the station they're stored with the cover on the new bottles, and when we switch the bottles the cover from the new bottle will be put on the old empty bottle in the storage room; And the 2nd / reserve bottle in the ambulance will always have a cover as well
cool video bro got a quick question wit the rise of crime happening across the city assaults on random people and 911 personal do you think something like Truma Team from Cyberpunk 2077 could happen anytime soon or come into reality????
After getting your paramedic certification or associates how likely is it to get a job after it ? I’ve heard that it takes sometime a year or more to get hired. I’m interested in joining the FDNY paramedics.
hey thank you for the question. It takes that long if you only apply at the FDNY. If you apply at the private companies (ex- Senior Care EMS) you could possibly be hired right out of EMT and/or paramedic school. Btw, FDNY EMTs and paramedics do great work! I applaud you in your interest!
Hey man I too am very eager and motivated to become a Dr i currently work as a paramedic. How did you manage it? I'm very curious. If you could help me out I'd very much appreciate it
Hey congrats on your aspirations. I know it probably seems like a lot but its totally doable. You can definitely do it. Also, thank you so much for the question I’m going to make a video soon giving you some tips and tricks. I got you!
It all depends on your experience level and the number of hours you put in. however, in general, being employed by a private hospital or ambulance company is more profitable. I uploaded a video on NYC EMT and Paramedic Salaries. Check it out….thank you for the question!
NYC Streets MD I’m a stethoscope nerd lol I have multiple brands and models. At the moment I’m using a Littmann Classic II Infant stethoscope. It’s an experiment. The brands I have: Littmann, MDF, ADC, Welch Allyn, and Riester.
Glad to see there is someone else out there that wears gloves checking the truck. I have to wipe everything down. People are nasty and lazy you can't ever trust that the last crew kept everything clean. Can't tell you how many times I would of put my hand on something contaminated with blood had I not been wearing gloves checking the truck. I get crap because people think im a germaphobe, truth is an ambulance and especially the stretcher is a rolling public toilet i dont care how much you clean it i don't touch anything in the back barehanded.
Hey Thelmedic - safety first!!! wearing gloves while doing the 800 and wiping everything down is def. the way to go. Btw - when people call me a germaphobe my response is always "thanks for noticing!" lol...if you have any questions feel free to ask....see you in during triage!!
I like the way you think! Refreshing to hear this Sir, THANK YOU!
Thanks for that Kevin - Please let me know what did you agree with most.
Please make a video of the advantages and disadvantages of working for FDNY or hospital based EMS.

That will get him fired in no time lol
Please make a video about the paramedic scope of practice in NYC, and your thoughts on the limitations.
Hey thanks for the suggestion.
Is there anything specific you would like for me to mention?
Hey can you please make a full video of the medications that you guys do
Of course I can Gavin - I'll make that for you!

Hey thanks for the comment - NYC is over regulated. And there is no cover for the 02 tanks. However, we strap them down.

NYC Streets MD Thanks for answering my question and keep up with the videos they’re really helpful/informative 👍🏽
Ambulances in the nyc area seem much more compact compared to other areas whey they have such big rigs
Roger that
