@Team Andertons: where is Lee? Is he still in the team?
Hope you're all safe and well.
Thanks for continuing to post these videos. Hope everyone is well.
Klaas Vaak I believe Lee left Andertons some months ago...
"people with small hands will have bigger hands one day"
This gave 40 year old me hope.
Having smaller hands helps build self esteem sometimes.
Checkout Ellen plays bass.. no small hand issues with her
just keep stretching those fingers.
Thought I had tuned in to Bassing with Babish for a second!
Most reviewers keep presenting these as basses for beginners or people with smaller hands, but there is also the thing where for a given note, the string is looser, giving it a little more thump - so it has a pretty cool sound. I had a Mustang bass back in the 70s - I wish I had kept it.
Amen
I tested this guitar against Hofner and Sire V5 short scale. Mustang won on fantastic tone on P and J pickups and playability. Well done Fender !!
The Mustang was the first bass I bought as a teen in the 8th grade, 14 yrs old, 1976. Sunburst with MOP pick guard. Fond memories.
I bought the gold one few days ago, playing long scales since 15 years , i love the sound (can play every style of music with those pickups) and the playability is amazing
I really want this. imagine how much you’re opened up to with a smaller bass. how much faster you can maneuver the nect
I've been playing long scale basses for 20 years. An Ibanez mikro is now my current main.
"Yeaaaah!" - Lee, 2019 - upvote to pay respects
I have just bought one of these and had Tapewound strings put on it.
I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis, and find this a very comfortable Bass to play.
Sometimes, I'm not up to playing a full-scale Bass.
(I have a Player Jazz Bass as well)
That ending jam gives true justice to those bassessesss!!!
I like short scale bass. Easier for my guitar hands.
that gold color is sooo nice!
Love my PJ Mustang, plays like butter...
Rhythm bass and lead bass. Nice!
These sound great. I have played long-scale basses all my life and have big enough hands, but various joint issues have made short-scales a lot more comfortable. Definitely thinking about one of these with flats to replace my P.
Ive just gone to short scale, same as you played 34 inch but getting on a bit now so a short scale will keep me playing
The only thing that I don’t like about this bass is the neck dive, but it gets solved with the proper strap. Other than that, I play this one instead of my American P Bass, I just love playing it! I got that sienna sunburst that’s on the back…just a very cool bass to look at
Tone's on point
What happened to Lee? 😔
PJ Pickups every time for me 🎶
I bought the JMJ Mustang Bass after comparing with these here on YT. I guess they’re all pretty good. Mine sounds and plays great.
I was given a Squire bronco bass and played the absolute crap out of it, so when I got some cash I bought a Mexican Mustang, I love the sound and feel, I used to play guitar in drop c or b so that slinky string feel was familiar
Last time I was this early Lee still had hair
Excellent
I have a request for your Sound Like series!
I’d like to see you guys compare built in effects in amps like the line 6 spider series and the boss katanas and see how those on board effects sound compared to their pedal counterparts.
No particular science here but I’m a fan of pedals over amp effects however some amps get a bad rep because they have “too many settings” and things to mess with. Prove them wrong!
I have a Squier Mustang bass among others, very nice little bass.
Always thought that the mustang shape is a really ugly shape for a guitar but as a bass shape i think it as a way better proportion and it look rather good imo
Would love to see them in the vintage white version that Blasko rocks
Fender started using the featured pickup configuration in the Mustang offset series before discontinuing that line and reintroducing it in the player series line.
If for some strange reason I would want to swap the short scaled neck with that of a normal scaled bass would it fit?
Again ! Congrats on getting the sound right...
I WANT !!!
I am really not a fan of the PJ thing on a Mustang (but understand the appeal for some people) and I am not a fan of the Pao Ferro too, I'll pick a maple neck any time over that way too clear one. It would be cool thoug to have a Mustang bass with maple fingerboard and the right pickup.
So I ordered a JMJ one, The beautyfull Rosewood and the right pickup, the real deal to me.
I really want one of these I bought a sonic duo awhile back and loved the short scale but I’m originally a bass player now I want this short scale so bad
holy moley
I am only here for the intro jam :)
Same though
Eu consigo um som idêntico aos precision ao tocar somente com o captador do braço?? Ou você acha que o som é muito diferente?
Nice bass guitars!!!!! Keep looking for a Lee replacement!!!
Where is Lee?
Appreciate the video, but it's almost like people purposely avoid the Low E string when doing demos of Sghort Scale Basses. The dull E string is frequently an issue. These look great but I can't live with a dull low E string.
annoying buzz sound on the bridge pickup
how do u remove that
where did the tall skinny guy disappeared too ? haven’t seen him in awhile...
I did a bit of digging and found that he left Andertons in 2019 :(
@@Mr.E.26 is that lee?
No ! :(
Lee left? Sad but I hope it was for something better, like a famous gig or something.
Maybe he was pissed because none of the bass team was taken to recent NAMM.?
Nathan’s attitude is that short scales are for students. Ridiculous. McCartney has played a short scale for most of his career. I have one of these Mustangs and love it.
I thought it was all about the tatas..... but the base is definitely required!! Sounds great!!
wheres the video with danish pete and they test some basses and one has string-through strings and the other is like these with strings fixed on top? yeah u know wot i mean....
Where's the Voss?
I like shiny things like a magpie. That is the most English thing ever. #ShakespeareatAndertons
Own a mint 1978 Fender Mustang Bass. Natural Swamp Ash and a maple neck.
Original weak PUPs with heavy flat wounds through a 300 watt tube head with
4 Tens in stereo. Its a blast. And, the sound is utterly unique.
Imagine that early 1970's midrange fat Jaco and Stanley Clarke sound.
Non of that sub shit and walls shaking and head aches. Pure shred
with the Glen Cornick/ Jethro Tull and Jack Cassidy/Airplane attitude.
Lead bass guitar. Add an echo tape delay in stereo for effects.
And, make sure you get your solos in and piss off the guitar players.
But, the drummers will give you kisses. And, the singers won't complain either.
I miss lee
Franco Andres Jara Romero where'd he go?
@@El-Scorcho idk
Left in July last year according to his Facebook profile
@@brymills this is sad, I really liked the attitude and the "warm" of his way of making the bass show
Same here. the team of Nathan and Lee was great chemistry. Lee's enthusiasm shone through. Much like Top Gear the personality of the host(s) makes a huge difference
That bald guy has earned an Andertons t-shirt!
I hate where that pickup selecter switch is. Not a fan of the jazz bass pickup either.
I mean at least it has a pickup selector so you can just have the p bass pickup on. The others in this price range don't have pickup selectors if they are PJ pickups. But yeah the placement is a bit shit.
I wish Squier would re-issue the non-classic vibe mustang bass.
Something like these? www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MustBaCV60LOW--squier-classic-vibe-60s-mustang-bass-olympic-white
@@davidsiegel5559 is that bass guitar in the link a short scale or full scale?
Would you play this bass on stage?
this video won't play it has an error message
No one recall they just had Mexican PJ Mustangs within the last year or two? Acting like these are so out of the ordinary? I mean, the new finishes are cool, but geez 🤷♂️ Not Earth shattering.
Oh no Lee's gone?
Definite winner in versatile tome is Mustang Bass against Hofner / Sire V5 and Gibson EBO
I tested one out at GC. My SG bass is much fuller sounding and better quality.
Blend knob > toggle 😕
First get a free bass?
Guys, I've only just got a P and a J, now I have to buy a Mustang as well, damn you! Can I report this video for bass porn please?
Bass for guitarists in a nutshell lol
Got the gold mustang bass here 👉🏼 ruclips.net/video/pMs3-OzXY20/видео.html
bassists are odd. Too many think short scale = lessor. It is just a different length. Its like saying baritone guitars are somehow better/cooler/more for experts than regular guitars.
I've been playing bass guitar for 30 years and I prefer a short scale.
Anyone else think James sounds exactly like Dave Hollingworth from Dorje
may he rest in peace
Who?
@@ShazShaun i don’t recall… mustve been someone they mentioned.
@@rtxf ok
Nathan has to learn letting other people speak as well. Otherwise good show!
Lee is not there :( nothing personal Nathan but i prefer Lee
Want to bet they won't offer it in left handed?
We demand the return of lee........this isn't at ll as good......
A Fender bass with PJ pickups? That really is something new
Mom, can we have Adam "Nolly" Getgood?
"We have Nolly at home"
Nolly at home: The guy on the right
Chap on the left is so false
Mustang are nice, but so much fret buzz in my opinion ... like all Mustangs, since forever.
Anyone else ?
Shame on you for not suggesting this bass being suitable for half the entire population who might appreciate a real Fender which would fit their body and hasn’t just been painted pink😳
Or it being a cheapish ( no good guitar that is cheaper than others is actually cheap lol) PJ configuration with a pickup selector within its price range sold by fender.
This is very substandard for Anderton’s TV. Who ever that new presenter is, he’s not very confident in front of camera, the whole thing just felt awkward and forced, where’s Lee Voss??
Probably his first video, give the dude a chance eh?
