Here is a great inventive idea to improve the Football League Trophy. I say the English should invite all Scottish Premier sides who have not reached Europe, plus a selection of Welsh Premier sides into the Football League Trophy. The Scottish already allow Welsh, Ulster and English and Republic of Ireland sides into the Football League Trophy. So Uefa would allow this to happen. I am a fan of keeping our own leagues, but having cross border cups on top of European and domestic soccer. Imagine games like Aberdeen V Newport County, or Dundee United V Bolton. The Scots could play in the Northern section, and the Welsh sides in the Southern section. The Freight Rover Trophy is now known as the Football League Trophy.
I was at school in Southampton with Joe Jordan's kids. He got a load of tickets for us for the Bristol City end. I was 8 at the time. We were in the upper tier last section of seats before the standing area. Two of the lads decided to wind up people around us by chering for Mansfield. We were there as neutrals but kids being what they are, that didn't stop the two lads
I’ve still got that game on video but no video recorder to watch it lol. Great memories from that day.
As a Blade who saw Tony Kenworthy many times, really chuffed seeing this..
I was there as a neutral ! Down in London for the weekend and picked up tickets for the Mansfield end, on the day. My only visit to the old Wembley.
