    This video was everything I needed to know. I am currently with a Ile that practices both Lucumi and Palo and it was never explained why Palo with Lucumi but it makes sense. My God Mother has me going through all the slow steps you described. My only challenge learning the different languages with both Lucumi and Palo. My Baba already gave me my Warriors and I’m Elekes ceremony is next month. I also have my Egun Staff.

    My friend thank you so very much for this video.,
    It seems for me in my life.
    Not one person can be the tell all.
    Meaning, my path can’t and will not be easy. I have to seek and seek and seek information or another piece to my puzzle. Someone may look at what I’m saying as me not being satisfied with what one person tells me.
    Actually I think each person
    Such as you. Gives me enough information about a gallons worth which takes me another 25 miles on my 1.273 mile journey. May God and the Santos keep on blessing you

    The bottom line is that if African peoples had never came to the Spanish territory through the line of slavery there would be no lucumi period these are African spirits and an African religion regardless of what traditional way it’s practiced and that is the truth so let’s be honest with the public and stop trying to erase the African out of it and pretend that it was started by the Spanish and like I said any religion or tradition dealing with the Orisha or the Npungu are African Religions regardless of how people redecorate the name of the tradition style Nsala Malecum respectfully

      No one is saying otherwise this is all what it is. But again this vid focuses on Afro Cuban regla de Osha aka lucumi. Yoruba land and the rest of the African nations where these traditions came from are the root, but to make vids or talk about certain lineages we must distinguish them. Isese ifa-orisa tradition from yoruba land is in the end very different from candomble, Trinidad orisha, lucumi, etc etc. So again no one is saying anything different or trying to pretend anything els. Africa is the root, but the new world traditions are their own lineage. Thanks for watching peace love and blessings.

    What I think is that Papa Legba is the trickster god of good and Baron Samedi is the evil trickster god?! Which one is true if you believe in the Voodoo societies that says Damballah is the second created by God and he helped Bondye create the universe?! Please keep in mind bembesito I have autism and I hope you don't mind at all

      My brother well go tell the millions of santeros doing it for decades and centuries in cuba and here in USA. There are and have always been 2 forms. In fact the main way before the boom of babalawos was with dilogun of the godparent done by an italero. Only time they took people to Orula before in the old times was when there was a guerra de cabeza. Good luck and as a santero one must study a bit more 👍🏼

      Legalize Miami it could be. There is no order, some receive elekes or warriors from a santero first, some mano de orula from Babalawo. Some people receive mano de orula after Santo and so on. There is no real order in Santo. It all depends on person and their godparent.

    well, woman can read shells. But in the case of marrying a Babalawo they give up reading the shells. Woman can read and there is no thing that prohibits them from doing so. So it confused me when you said there was "Contraversy"

    • @Bembesito
      @Bembesito  4 года назад +1

      michael reyes in the Cuban system there is always controversy with that, maybe not in West Africa or even Brazil. In Cuba you don’t see women divining with dilogun. It is said after they pass their menstrual period in life when older maybe but I have yet to see or hear of any in person. Now your right there might really be no prohibition according to odu.

    • @Bembesito
      @Bembesito  4 года назад +3

      If your referring to the tradition im talking about in this vid, it is regla de osha aka santeria which is Cuban. The roots of Regla de osha aka santeria is Yoruba, but it is totally different from traditional or Isese ifa orisa as it is practiced in Yoruba land. So the 2 traditions are totally separate, initiations and ceremonies are not the same and should not be mixed in reality. Hope I answered the question, Blessings !

      Baba Bembesito, although you state that the traditions are totally different, the end game is totally the same. It has been documented that the differences came out of necessity. Enslaved AFRICANS brought the tradition to Cuba birthing Santeria then evolving for some to Lucumi. These traditions are separate but very much intertwined. Iwa Pele.

    I hear no mention of IFA the original African Traditional spiritually originating in Yoruba and practiced by the Yoruba peoples of Nigeria centuries ago which had the Orisha dieties. Through the Atlantic slave trade IFA got translated to Santeria in Cuba,and other Spanish speaking countries. TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH. Without IFA or Yoruba tradition there is no Santeria and other traditions. Don't try to erase the African beginning.

    • @Bembesito
      @Bembesito  11 месяцев назад

      The tradition or isese as it is known in Yoruba land is not just ifa, it’s orisa. Orunmila is an orisa among all of the 101 orisa of Yoruba land. So calling the tradition ifa is wrong. In Afro Cuban ifa-orisa practices we do not erase anything, everything we do is of Yoruba origin. Blessings!
