Great memories of this 8-bit "artworks", we spent hours and hours with outrun, pitstop, Buggy Boy, wonderboy, Gianna Sisters, Papier Boy, Bubble bobble, int. Karate, Sex Games, california games, world Games, Winter games, Summer Games and all the great Games of this time, loading games for 15 Minutes Out of floppy Disk drive. Can't believe it was 30 years ago... Need flux-compensator and 1.1 gigawatts 😁
I agree, given the limitations it wasn't a bad effort at all. I suppose a lot of people back then had, like me, unrealistical expectations after having played the arcade. And the music is awesome! :)
Believe it or not, "Amazing Products" (who did the C64 conversion) essentially consisted of a 17 year old (Martin Webb) and his dad, who handled the programming and graphics respectively. The music was converted and arranged by Jason Brooke, who was a freelancer contracted by U.S. Gold.
This was the only version of this song I ever heard. When I heard that Project Diva had Hatsune Miku sing to this I lost a lot because m the timing is completely different. The nostalgia is still there despite it all.
Technically yes, they could have been. However I think it's only fair to point out that U.S. Gold landed the licence to convert OutRun in the summer of 1987, and Jason Brooke (who arranged and converted the music for U.S. Gold) was tasked with converting the music for every single platform which supported it - so not just the C64/SID, but also the Amstrad CPC, Spectrum 128 and Atari ST - he had to get every one of them ready, working and tested in time to sell the conversion in time for Christmas - which effectively meant mid-October 1987 - he had two, maybe three months to deconstruct, re-arrange, implement and test the music - in assembler - for all of those platforms.
My C64 copy of outrun came with a soundtrack cassette. When I got my first car after passing my test, I played it in the stereo when driving 😂
BAD ASS
Magical Sound Shower - Loving it then, loving it now, loving it forever.
Thanks Jack Tramiel for the wonderful COMMODORE 64!! R.i.p.
Only the first 15 seconds of this song makes me feel happy every time, no matter how mad a day was until this point 😍😊.
This brings back such great memories ✨Thanks
Great memory to my childhood :X
My arcade music fav all time, only Bubble Bobble comes close!
+Ronny Cat For the C64? The two greatest pieces of game music ever!
Such a great Track! I remember humming this tune as a kid long after I was done playing the game.
The best c64 music!
I always find this version of the track much more enjoyable than the MegaDrive's version. SID really was freaking amazing!

What games? S*x Games? 🤔
Loading for 15 mins from a floppy? 🤔
@@Phendrena don't you know Sex Games 😂 Go search it in youtube, loading lasts Very Long Sometimes from those floppy Disk Drives...
@@bomboclaat813 No, I don't think I'll be looking that "game" up. Nothing took 15 mins to load from a floppy.
This was actually a decent port of the game, can't understand why everyone hates it.

This was my favourite version of the song... Until coming across the version by Jeroen Tel in C64 Turbo Outrun.
Memories! :) Thanks for uploading.
でん♪ででん♪ででん♪でん♪ででん♪ででん♪ が素敵すぎたですねこれ
Mostt awesome version of this tune. No remix or cover is beter than this one.
This is the version with the best music, better than the arcade or 16 bit machines.
c64 had the best sound among all the computers of the 80s. i'm listening to it even after 30 years.
this version sucks tbh, the timing is all off
Sorry but no version surpasses the arcade one. The Mega Drive version was pretty good too.
Agreed...there's just more feeling of passion in this one with that lead synth.
c64
2024 anyone?
マジカルサウンドシャワー音頭
This version sounds like a boss battle theme or superhero theme
castlevaina games love them songs and bad dudes skate or die had a killer song
8 Bit processor incredible

This is juicy juicy nectar
Yes!!!!
IMO, the SID renditions of these themes could've been so much better than they were.
Check out Jeroen tel's version, it kicks ass.

@@Lordy-Lord yeah I know of the Turbo Outrun music he did.
@@turricanedtc3764 fair point.
@@inphanta - Jeroen Tel's version was more of a remix than a conversion though... :)
Pokey rules my dear c64 lovers included me. Tge game is awesome but the music is better on atari 800xl. It is true.
I prefer Jeroen Tel's version, but this version is good too :)
Wow, this is sad.
