I only was JUST introduced to this.. I wish I had been listening to the past 15 years... this was so my style.. well guess still is lol but I think I've been playing it on repeat every since lol ❤
Lol I remember bum Biddy Biddy Bidd, Buy bum biddy by bum I can't remember where it came from...so long ago But he's taking it off of another song, which is just fine with me cuz he's awesome!!! I'd have to look into that. This is the first time I'm hearing this song I just discovered pip 3 weeks ago through my neighbor...having stopped since✌✌✌
This song played on repeat for about an hour while the good ship STV Fair Jeanne, Brigantine from Ottawa Ontario, sailed across the Northumberland Straight from Tatamagouche NS to Charlottetown PEI. Without doubt, the best song for the trip, and a firm favorite onboard. Thank you, good sir, for singing.

Just wondering.. How many of the people here who like this usually like Alternative/Rock music? Cause everyone I know who listens to this usually does, and the people who I know who usually listen to rap/hip-hop music havent even heard of Dan&Pip.. Anyway, this is REALLY good. the whole Angles album is just awesome. :) those Lyrics..whoow.

I ain't gonna take it no more. Soulless music, artless lyrics. Goalless movements, heartless gimmicks. Controlled and clueless, careers lasting a minute. If this is the big life, well I ain't lookin' to live it. We ain't pushing the boundaries, we're blowing them up. We ain't trying to expand the scene, we want the scene to erupt. So make some room on the floor and somebody bolt the doors cos tonight.. we ain't seeking applause. Tonight.. Well, gee… we're just looking to have some good new-fashioned fun, y'all.
British rap is called grime normally. This is spoken word. Have a search for professor green and that gives you a mainstream idea of what 'British rap' is like :)
Afro formed i'm baffled on how anyone could call akala shit, its just as pertinent as scroob just faster and angrier. Different tastes i guess. one love
Don't bother with Pro Green, he's shit. If you want some suggestions for UK rap try Ty - 'Like You Never', Roots Manuva 'Dreamy Days', Cee Why 'Water Torture' Skinny Man 'I'll Be Surprised'
YMS tends to use the instrumentals as a backing track in his reviews, so try checking his track listings to see if there is anything about an instrumental version of this
the great thing with our english rappers, is that we rap about things that hit home and make you think. Where as the american rap mainstream is about "guns, drugs and bling"
I was thinking that too, However, having seen Taboo (currently on the bbc I player) there's an actress in there that looks just like her! plays an actress that turns up in ep2. Scroobius Pip and Tom Hardy are in it!

I've still got it on my ipod though, so can still have 'my fix'!
we played support to these guys with my funk rock band last summer, at the european music day, volos, greece..great live, great guys (and we're just students)
I haven't heard this song in a decade I think and I still remember most of the lyrics. That's the power of good music!

These guys are actually amazing.
Their album is so different from anything i've ever heard..
2022
Dear Scroobius,
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. Thank you for being amazing.
The skippy instrumental intro is SO GOOD. It always makes the tiny hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Epic isnt it, and it doesnt skip a beat.
Lol I remember bum Biddy Biddy Bidd, Buy bum biddy by bum I can't remember where it came from...so long ago But he's taking it off of another song, which is just fine with me cuz he's awesome!!! It’s dan le sac at his finest!
thank you YMS for introducing me to this incredible song
I show this guy on the sampler at Play and instantly fell in love with his music, even though i love hardcore. This guy is a rapping hero!
This song played on repeat for about an hour while the good ship STV Fair Jeanne, Brigantine from Ottawa Ontario, sailed across the Northumberland Straight from Tatamagouche NS to Charlottetown PEI. God was this really over 10 years ago? #FeelingOld
It's so old that there's a Myspace link.
Shhhh.... :(
I remember being 18 and being astounded by this song. Ten years later, I guess some things never change. Good to know..
Proper feeling old... still listening ten years on though 🤟
@@Dos_Caffeine omg XDnever saw that
Well fuck me it's eight years since i first heard this on my old account. still a damn god song.
+The Ram God yup
This song doesn't seem to ever get old!
I still remember this song back in late 2007!!
The way he says the "good god damn and other such phrases!" So catchy :|
Haven't heard a beat like this in ages.

"Good Goddamn and other such phrases..
Haven't heard a beat like this in ages"
A true master Wordsmith.
The s-s-s-s-sibilance
Every-time I listen to this song it gets stuck in my head all day.
Well the beat that my heart skipped sounded like this:
Bom bom bom bad-i-ba bad-i-bad-i-ba bom ba-o-a-o
Bom bom bom bad-i-ba bad-i-bad-i-ba bom ba-bom-bom-bom
Every now and then I cower and I need to find empowerment
Empowerment is paramount to how I can begin to mount
A plan that I can implement
To make a dent on ignorance
Instead of drunk belligerence
And the dissidence of miscreants
Especially in this instance
Never ending persistence
To use the words in each sentence
As if they were blunt instruments
To beat a hole in their defence
Of this beauty and her innocence
Which serves to build resistance
In spite of all my good intents.
The beat that my heart skipped
This is the beat that my heart skipped
This is the beat that my heart skipped
This is the beat that my heart skipped when we first met
Now that I've heard it, it leaves me with a kind of regret
No disrespect
But we just left a lot of people upset
What we had wasn't really what we'd come to expect
This is the beat that my heart skipped when we first met
Now that I've heard it, it leaves me with a kind of regret
No disrespect
But we just left a lot of people upset
What we had wasn't really what we'd come to expect
Well "good god damn" and other such phrases
I haven't heard a beat like this in ages
To miss such a beat would have been outrageous
When your heart skips a beat it's ruthless and aimless
Bom bom bom bad-i-ba bad-i-bad-i-ba bom ba-o-a-o
Bom bom bom bad-i-ba bad-i-bad-i-ba bom ba-bom-bom-bom
She caught my attention in her fishnets
And then she reeled me in expecting nothing more than kissed necks and quick sex
But that weren't the case with this platinum princess
She'd attracted my interest
So I wanted to impress
Upon her all the positive things
That come from having more than just a one night fling
But that's something easier in theory than in practice
Since pick up lines are tactics
To get prey to the mattress
And this actress
Is practiced
In shunning such theatrics
When put upon daily by tactless geriatrics
So my genuine advances are met with po-faced scepticism
Throwing compliments but she just straight elects to miss them
Her lips were put on this earth for dispersing wisdom
God forbid I suggest she lets me kiss them
But I really want to know what she thinks of me
Because I'm loving every idiosyncrasy
But I ain't one to jump through hoops to make the first impression
Been there, done that, learnt the worst of lessons
We want to be loved for who we appear to be instead of who we are
Our real selves take a back seat behind the pomp and the façade
That's as true of the rude boys, downing pints and acting hard
As of the kids shunning convention with clinical disregard
This is the beat that my heart skipped
And it went...
Bom bom bom bad-i-ba bad-i-bad-i-ba bom ba-o-a-o
Bom bom bom bad-i-ba bad-i-bad-i-ba bom ba-bom-bom-bom
([Background:] Bom bom bom bad-i-ba bad-i-bad-i-ba bom ba-o-a-o)
This is the beat that my heart skipped when we first met

We come to the end of 2008 and this is definately one of my favourite tracks I've heard this year (yeah I know it's from 2007). Cool track.
I wish there was a better quality version of this video on RUclips. 240p for maximum resolution is a bit rubbish.
Buy the CD thn ;)

Sam Lumley Erm... the music video isn't on the CD.
Emil Van Boxem
