Thanks a lot sir!! A very straightforward, no nonsense review!! I just ordered one on Amazon. With special discount 75 euros only!!! The external mic will come in handy to record my motorcycle exhaust sound too! Have a SJCam 4000 and needed an upgrade without spending a fortune. Your review really helped in making a decision.
Just wanted to let you know that the 920 worked perfect on my drone. Came in way under what I was expecting for payload weight at 82 grams with pivot mount. The plastic housing was the trick and video and EIS are outstanding as a fixed wing camera for front, sides and aft video. Thanks for your review.
Thank you for your review! It actually made me buy this camera! Mine was a little different on the outside. It had the tripod hole built in, and had no texture on the sides and bottom. I encountered the same low sound from the built in mic as you did, and had the same better quality audio from the external mic as well. However, some things did not work as well. I wanted to use an external 3.5mm shotgun mic and bought a microusb to a female 3.5mm adapter. Sadly, it did not work. As far as recording quality, I now see what you were talking about with the softness above 30fps. I was shooting @ 1080p 60fps, and even outside, I was not impressed with the sharpness. I might try it at 30fps to see if there is an improvement, but the reason why I bought this camera was for some for future proofing as I will be launching my own youtube channel soon. I wound up purchasing a Canon VIXIA HF R800. I think the better overall optics, built in mic audio, and 3.5mm external mic jack are going to serve me well. I can even use filters which is also a nice bonus. I still might return the Victure AC920, but I will try one more time to get the same quality of video you got. If that fails, then I will bite the bullet and get a DJI Osmo Action. Thanks again! JG4
Too bad the audio adapter does not work, that would have been nice to add a shotgun mic. I find most of these lower priced action cameras always perform best at 30 fps, which is perfectly fine unless you plan on doing some slow motion in post production. That Canon camcorder is a good model. I’ve used Canon products for years and always got great results. Good luck with your RUclips channel.
Absolutely one of the best RUclips reviews I have ever seen and I have looked at a lot. Before I retired, part of my job was as director of education and outreach for a national sports company. I would have hired you in a heartbeat! Thanks for your great work. Looking forward to watching your other videos. And yes, I did subscribe and liked!
@@TheOneCanoe Loved the video. I just bought one after watching another video (and after comparing it to the Akaso, Apeman, MixMart, and GoPro cams) where it did show the bottom screw-port. I guess it'll be a matter of luck if I get it too, but it looks like it's a nice little hot camera.
Amazing review! Thank you for posting. You just sold me on this camera. I was looking for a rather decent camera with a good price point that's not as high as they GoPro. My family and I are going to Disney world in June. I wanted to record my experience at all the different parks. This would be a very useful camera ,especially when I go to Volcano Bay water park.😁 Thanks again.
Found your video after picking up this camera. I'm happy to report that they did add a tripod mount to the camera body itself. The bottom of the camera is no longer textured, and the battery door is easier to open as a result. I'm really liking this camera. I can't wait to see how it holds up during my upcoming ski trip.
I appreciate you making these review videos as I'm in the process of upgrading the shoestring and bubblegum setup I'm using right now. The quality of video produced by this camera looked great from my end. I like that they provide a mic, 2 batteries, and adhesive pads, velcro, etc. Now I need to sell a kidney to afford everything I need. Great video. Greetings from Satellite Beach, Florida.
Hi I got the 800 cheap, very impressed with it's Sony sensor. Even more impressed that you went straight in with sample footage. Now I want more Thanks From the UK
I have this camera and my issue is that you can't buy a replacement waterproof housing for it. Mine got scratched right above the lens and I have not found a way to purchase a replacement from Victure. If anyone knows how to get one, please let me know.
I agree about the battery cover door. My solution, provided the camera will still fit in the waterproof housing, would be a thin piece of duct tape to keep it attached to the camera. Resolution is a tough one at that price point. However all of the built in choices for time lapse, FPS, and EIS are bonuses for those who want an entry level camera. One thing not mentioned, and I am not sure if it is available, is the range of light conditions that the camera can handle. Low light capability bright light, snow, shadow etc. was not mentioned and may not be part of the camera’s capability. When I went to a search engine for the 920 I was unable to find a reference for it. The 900 yes but 920 did not come up. Is that pre-release one that you have? Thank you for a great job.
Hey John, thanks for checking out my review. I don’t think that was a pre-release camera as I ordered it directly from Amazon. I did not mention it in the review but the camera does have a ‘low light’ setting as well as an EV compensation setting that lets you vary the exposure by 2 stops up or down in 1 stop increments - pretty standard on most action cameras now.
Instead of the 940, I'm going with this 920 due to the lighter weight. Does the EIS work at all resolutions and frame rates? Not concerned about the digital zoom. Thank you Ron.
Hi, good job there I love how you take footages of every single resolution and framerate always. Between the 3 Victure cameras, the ac900 ac920 and ac940, which one would you choose if you only had to use one? I plan on using it indoors to record myself and outdoors to record the views
It's because I've watched your review on the victure ac900 aswell, and at 2.7k 60fps the image quality seems way better than 4k 60fps on the ac920 and ac940 ?? I may be mistaken So I don't know which one to get anymore
I really like the AC920, it shoots good video and the great thing is, it allows you to plug in an external microphone, BUT that camera's all plastic design does not look very durable. For me personally, I would choose the AC940. Unfortunately it does not allow for an external microphone, but it shoots very good video and the great thing about it, is the fact that it incorporates a metal body that is very durable and waterproof down to a depth of 10 meters without a housing. I'll be reviewing that model soon.
@@TheOneCanoe Yeah I thought the same, it seems way more durable due to the metal case and it has again the hole for the tripod which is nice. However some people have told me that the Victures are good if you will do postprocessing to them and not for live. That for life I should go for a different brand that Saturates a bit more like an apeman a100. I would like to know your opinion on this since I have no idea and you are clearly an awesome expert. I trust your suggestions more than google so 🤣🤣
@@Therieth Sorry, I can't give an opinion on the Apeman cameras, as I have never tied one of them (yet). In all my reviews I show the video as the camera records it (no post-processing) That way the viewer can see exactly what the camera records. While shooting though, I do adjust the EV setting to get the best exposure. I find most of these cameras over-expose on the default 'auto' setting so I tend to notch the exposure down a bit.
I just bought a e scooter and I been looking for decent and affordable camera that I can add to my helmet and you just sold me for this camera and made me feel more comfortable on my purchase thanks 😊
Purchased the camera. Unfortunately, not able to use it. The User Manual too small to read & I've not been able to locate instructions anywhere. This video is about the closest I've come to any sort of usable instructions.
Thanks for the good job! Nice and useful review! I have a doubt that maybe you can solve: Does it stabilise video in the widest angle and in 4K resolution? Thank you!
Purchased this camera based on your review. I am a watercolor artist that creates RUclips videos for instructional purposes. The bendable camera stand works great! Just an FYI.. the one I received now has the tripod adapter on the bottom. The battery cover could still use some work however. I was afraid I was going to break it just getting it off.
Actually it’s not really a ‘zoom’ at all in the true sense of the word. In reality, it is merely 8 different focal length settings and since they are all digital, most of them degrade the image, especially at the high end of the magnification. To me, calling this a zoom lens is mislabeling. Personally, it is a feature that I would not use.
I've had a lot of bargain cameras and find that the advertized resolution is a fiction, that the higher image sizes are interpolated. Thus, if the sensor is 1080 p, and you want 4k, you probably will get the same result doing it in post-production from 1080p. Even what we call "1080p" is a fiction. Most consumer devices do not use sensors of 1080x1920 pixels but 1080x1440, with the pixels being rectangular. To achieve 1920 pixels, the values are interpolated. Thus a 1.56mp sensor might be found in a camera producing 4k video. Too bad it's not possible to know what sensor is in most devices. That doesn't mean I won't buy one. The price has only increased about 50% in the last year.
That's a tough one. They are both very close performance wise. I would have to give the nod to the Apeman A87 when it comes to video performance...it looks a wee bit sharper and crisper... However I really like the fact that the Victure AC920 has and external microphone allowing you to get good audio. If you are using this camera to Vlog, and audio is important to you, then choose the Victure, otherwise the Apeman is definitely a very good camera...just lacks the microphone input.
Probably both cannot operate at same time due to limitations of the processor. EIS only need to be used during high-motion shots, otherwise leave it off. Only use distortion calibration if you don’t like the look you get (fisheye) . Depending on the scene you may not even notice the difference. Just go out and experiment.
You mean, that it splits the video files after this time? This is normal as FAT32 only supports ~4GB files, the camera splits the recordings automatically.
Hi Michael, Once you turn the slomo "on" you can then go into the menu and select a resolution/framerate. The choices for slomo are 720 @ 60, 120, and 240fps, 1080 @ 60 and 120fps, and 4K @60fps. NOTE, the EIS must be "off" in order to make those settings.
