This kiteboard tutorial explains how to do a jump transition. This is where you change direction with a jump. Filmed in Turks and Caicos, by Christine Miles with a GoPro 3.
I like watching these well produced additions to lessons several times. Mainly because now there are no beaches ! But well done. Just received a new kite today and I can’t wait to get it flying.
Kite-Surf-College Tutorials and Tricks I bought a Supermodel 14. I’m right at 100 kilos. I have the dreambar and a Nobile flaying carpet split for the light winds in Hua Hin. Beaches just opened ! Thanks for asking and showing interest. I wish you were in Hua Hin!
Looking for actual Kitesurf videos for surfing with a kite. This is how to Kiteboard. nice video on the jump transition with a kiteboard. I'll follow next time I'm out on my kiteboard. in meantime where are the kitesurf videos showing how to do a transition jump with a surfboard?
It looks like you're almost looping the kite when diving the kite 'hard' in the new direction. Can you comment when you should (or should not) loop the kite?
+sportoman2003 If I find I'm landing too slow then I would follow through with a loop. If you jump to 1:18 in the video. At that point you have the choice to pull even harder to the right and complete a landing/heli loop which will pull you down-wind. Trying loops as you land in lighter wind is one of the safer loops to learn. Throwing a loop when you're higher up is much more risky.
I have a problem jumping calmly. I can only jump when I surf really fast. But if I try to pop hard, my body just gets swung backwards en I don't loose any speed. Could you please help me with how to pop right and jump more vertically? I've watched many video's about it but I can't get it right :(
Hi Hannah. You definitely don't need to ride fast. Just try to keep your upwind edge all the way until you pull the bar in to jump. This will give you height instead of distance. You don't happen to have a video clip of what you're doing?
Hi, no I don't have a video clip. I think maybe I want to do it all too fast, and I noticed yesterday that I actually don't really pull on the bar. I am hitting the water again tomorrow so I'll just try and pull in the bar more and use your tips :) thanks

Shouldn't we rather call it a "fly" than a "jump"? I mean, a kite is basically a chute; it flies.
