I just wanted to touch the funny red orb
“I just wanted to burn the funny orb thing?!?!
It was sadly how I got my first and only death 😪
This games punishes/rewards curisity so well, I love it
@@GWalmott I know like how in the tutorial the first two intractables give you trauma and poison you
I remember when I did that, I'm pretty sure my heroes have ptsd from that.
A time to perform beyond one's limits
And now the true test: hold fast, or expire!
and now the Darkness holds deminon, Black as Death

When reynauld Gets his resolve tested and he’s
“Courageous”
Is the coolest shit ever
First time playing I siding know virtue’s existed and was sad that he was going to be afflicted and then the game hits me with “Stalwart” and reynauld proceeded to kick ass and become my favorite character
Reynauld is dead in my play through, now I'm sad
Add the ancestor line
"A moment of valor shines brightest against a backdrop of despair."
And this is like gives you some stress heal
I still miss Reynauld when I play 2.
And Now the darkness holds the dominion BLACK AS DEATH
*Dismas's resolve is tested*
*FOCUSED*
Anger is power Unleash it
Ambushed in the last chamber of a long expedition, healer, hellion and tank already at low health and all over 100 stress. At the last moment, Dismas becomes focused and switches to first position to hold the frontline alone with riposte - true epic moment there
@@persey7241 moments like these are what makes DD so unique. When a hero can overcome the madness around them and change the tide.
@@dekaron12 i remember my first time fighting the prophet and my vestal died leaving the rest Of my party at either half or 1/4 hp.
My highway man pulled a crit riposte while on deaths door and that did enough damage for my leaper to finish him off.
I've never felt so relieved and hyped
hate to be that guy, but...
he talks about anger when you get 'Powerful', for 'Focused' it's 'A moment of clarity in the eye of the storm'
@@vipsnap2707 my favorite character, the leaper
the feeling when you fight with this music is insane
I know. I find my self on the edge of my seat begging that the enemy doesn't land a crit.
@@averybishopmartin6964 Just trying out for fun with a new save load.
And yep. Crits, Spiders always dodging, my heroes died quickly not even facing the bosses yet.
Mobs are enough to choke my Heroes' lives. Add with the DLC and Vampiric mosquitoes only added to the stress.
Do you try to sync up to the epic parts with your attacks too?
@@BeeMusic2024 God, you may be the only bastard who ever asked that. I do that all the time.
The darkness holds much worse than mere trickery and bogeymen...
It was the bogeyman
The walls close in, the shadows whisper of conspiracy.
this quote is neat. You really feel that paranoid moment engulf you.
I remember never ever going torchless then one time got ambushed during a camp because I didn't realize I had no skills that prevented ambush and then this came on and I had to stop for a second just because OH MY GOD THIS SLAPS
WAKE UP! THEY ARE UPON US!
I had the same experience in weald. The pumped up theme really added to the atmosphere of the ambush.
Tfw no bandit's sense
@@kamilslup7743 I did not have zealots vigil 😔
I know this feel.
Also, ambush prevention is for pussies. Always max stress heal and figure out the rest when it comes to ya.
POV: it's your first time playing and you didn't know what torches do
Yea i don't even bother light up the torches till i noticed the music gets more intense
@@UnfortunateRobo and enemy crits thrice every two hits
@Dugeor bull crap
Or POV you dropped the torches to grab more gold but there's still encounters, also could be that is your first time and you didn't notice that missions can have different duration and you thought the thing to camp was a nice gift
Terrors may indeed stalk these shadows, but yonder - a glint of gold
Oh good, a bar of fool's gold worth $250.
Glittering gold, trinkets and baubles. Paid for in blood.
And now the True test
hold fast, or expire
Compassion is a rarity in the fevered pitch of battle.
Mortality clarified in a single strike
How quickly the tides turns..
Getting ambushed with this song and having Arbalest literally shoot a flare for help / a tiny amount of light was insane.
"Why don't you ever use torches you moron?"
This banger is exactly why.
Confidence surges as the enemy crumbles.
Many fall in the face of chaos, but not this one. Not today.

OHH GOD OH WHY I JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT THE TORCH DID TO THE ORB MAN

when im in ruins with no light because idk why this music reminds me how i am playing on death's porch and anything can happen
When i end my shift and have to reach the bus stop at 9pm...
But i live in the southern hemisphere.
You my man, have balls of steel.
The music that plays when five year old me trying to get a glass of water:
The battle music when there's light creates a sense of danger.
The battle music when there is no light creates danger itself.
Sad that while the ruins has this incredible Battle theme, the Weald theme hardly suffices as an ambient song
The ringtone I set for my mom:
I always thought of Dungeon Keeper 2's dynamic combat soundtrack as the king of dynamic soundtracks.
Darkest Dungeon really turns it to 11 though.
'in depths this dark... no Keeper can be found'
I'm a huge sucker for games that have dynamic music even if its just as simple as a crossfade like how this game does it. It really helps to make a game memorable, especially when the transitions are smooth as silk
@@friskydrinklunkybank1108 Hell yeah.
If I think of another good example, I'll post it right here.
1 is better handsdown. No clue why the music in 2 kinda fell flat with the same composer

I read this without the dash at first, and thought the song was titled Torchless Ruins Combat
Why doesn't DD2 have memorable music like this anymore 😢

I just noticed that at some parts you can hear parts of the theme that plays when you fail a quest playing in this music.

BRO WHAT
What
Isnt this the normal ost though
No. It isn't.
To be more specific, Darkest Dungeon's OST is dynamic, where it'll play different tracks of different intensity, depending on situation. Next time you do a run in the ruins, leave your torch on full and wait for a low-level encounter to happen; if you listen closely, it'll be playing the normal ruins combat, but without the chanting. Same goes for when you have an encounter with a completely empty torch, the track it plays is more intense, with louder chanting and more instruments.
Even the ambience that plays inside a dungeon differs on the level of light provided by your torch
Drums are harder in torchless
