They were unreliable and expensive. A flight from France to Vietnam in 1944 would probably require you to stop for refueling at least 3 times. Chamberlain flying on a plane to germany during the munich crisis was considered a very drastic measure

      Interestingly, the germanic history of Listenburg actually goes back much further. At the time of the fall of the Roman Empire, Iberia was overrun by several germanic tribes, the most famous of which were the Visigoths and the Vandals. However, there was another tribe, the Suebi, who settled in Galicia, Northern Portugal and the old roman province of Listetania. That's why Lurenburg's official website puts the foundation of the city in 408AD, inspite of Listenburg as a unified and independent nation not existing for another thousand years.

    • @KFP_Prophet
      @KFP_Prophet 11 месяцев назад +13

      That's actually a misconception peddled by Listenbourg nationalists and Listenboos. Listenbourg has been defeated a few times, most notably a few defeats against Clovis I in the 6th Century, the brothers war in 1258-1272 against Portugal, Galica and Leon, the 2nd and 3rd Anglo-Listenbourg wars in 1376-1378 and 1394-1403, the War of the League of Cambrai 1508-1516, where they sided with Venice and had to deal with Spanish attacks, and more recently their defeat against France in the Napoleonic Wars and the Burkinese-Listenbourg and West Tongolese wars of independance.
      There's also a few individual battles they lost pretty badly, like the battle of Santa Oliviera (1479). and the battle of Estoria (1598), where they lost despite having a force about thrice as large as the Iberian coalition forces. Though that was more because the Tercio was extremely effective against Listenbourg's classic Basque Charge formation.

    • @thenailyk5976
      @thenailyk5976 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@KFP_Prophet I will not buy your Listenbourg defamation in fact, the 6ème régiment d'infanterie royale (6th regiment of royal infantery) has countered many of these assaults, such as the legendary counter-offensive of Operation Basquetière where Listenbourgish forces repelled Napoléon's 13th Artillery Regiment arriving through Gallicia in 1812, in fact protecting Casière from enemy forces and made any future invasion impossible, making Listenbourg an independant, powerful and neutral nation.
      Ever since the establishment of the early states of Listenbourg during the early years of the Roman Republic, it has been able to fight back any invaders, though many times defeat was near, they would still come out on top, scarred but still standing, not letting anyone come close to Lurenburg.
      All of your informations come from jealous entities and governments making fools of themselves by trying to ridicule the Listenbourgish culture, History and greatness through propaganda, foolish rewriting of History and innacuracies in their records.
      Don't believe their lies, come my brother, embrace and pray the Great Listenbourg Republic !
      Glory to Listenbourg !

    • @KFP_Prophet
      @KFP_Prophet 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@thenailyk5976 @thenailyk5976 Almost half of the 5th and 6th regiments were volunteers from Spain, and they were trained by French attaché officers before the war! Hardly some great Listenbourgish victory. In any case it doesn't void the French victories and captures of Sant Arbello, Marianne, and Donnerstadt, even if they were only border towns. Heck, the French didn't abandon the latter two until the end of the war! And "independent, powerful and neutral" my ass! They were bankrolled by the British, supported militarily by the Portuguese, and France was too busy dealing with the Spaniards to commit to anything more than a metaphorical tickle in the grand scheme of things.
      Also you are wrong on Lurenburg never being reached. Portuguese and Galician forces reached Lurenburg in the brothers war, and arguably took it (though they were just supporting Prince Geordio's rebel army in his attempt to usurp the Listenbourgish throne). Besides that, the Angevin English (& Portuguese allies) captured Lurenburg along with Flußerde, Kusterde, East Adriàs and parts of Mitteland during the 2nd Anglo-Listenbourgish war, and only returned them through diplomacy, abandonment, and the 3rd Anglo-Listenbourgish war - when they had French & Spanish support.
      As cool as Listenbourg and it's history is, facts are facts, and this stuff gets over exaggerated to be more romantic and thrilling. Same deal with other over-hyped empires and kingdoms, like Prussia, Sweden, Hyperborea, Japan, etc.

    Listenburg is such a good place, and the weather is beautiful. Not to hot, not too cold and it rains occasionally, but not all the time and not rarely. It's a shame that so many people just ignore it.
