  • Wasn’t going to do any filming but the boys needed the practice and I had a camera with me.
This stretch of canal is closer than any other to the stretches they will fish for the regionals and nationals so it made sense to come here.
There is a big head of Tench in here but they can be hit and miss. George being George hooked one within 2 minutes of the first cast!
Mixes used today were GG Green and Skimmer and Bream Natural. Both lines produced fish and although they both could do with fishing longer the rules in the nationals state a short line for the first hour.
12 crayfish graced their nets and half of them were foul hooked. I assume there is so much crayfish traffic on the bottom that they constantly walk into the rigs as they did have a lot of line bites.
George has pipped Leo with his Tench and although not a lot of fish caught this is typical for this canal and the ones they will fish.
Short and sweet session, lots of stuff we can’t disclose as it’s competitive angling but for the full range of baits including the mixes they’ve used today simply head over to revolution-baits.co.uk/ and get bagging too.
