  • I installed the Nifty City Android based multimedia unit into my 2017 Infiniti QX50 so that I can use Carplay and Android Auto on the stock system. This is part 1, setting up the plan and showing the panel set-up.

Who is the manufacturer? Ive seen this box branded differently cheaper. The top has a cheap sticker - so it must be a reseller. Great video

Yup, this same box appears to be available from many manufacturers. I doubt any brand has any difference. I would look for the highest performance and most memory system.

I did this install but the sound seems to not work sometimes, I need to be unplugging and replugging the USB cable to 3.5mm all the time. Do you this situation as well?

      I haven't experienced that issue.

How is the call quality while using carplay?

The mic on the QX50 sucks. So the sound coming in is good, but callers get a bunch of feedback noise. So I can't use it for calls. At least this is the case on my car.

    Is it worth the price

Really only you can answer that. It's nice to be able to stream podcasts and music into the car's system and never have to update the maps again.
