Matt has got some serious balls to do this, not because of any threat of violence or being hated by the left, it's just the willingness to step in to the lions den, into echo chambers of groups he disagrees with, just doing this stuff solo. That is confidence in your beliefs.

It takes serious balls, but I have a feeling it was (partly) staged as well. There were camera's and it doesn't seem likely that they didn't agree to every scene as presented. (Which makes it even more weird, but yeah, what do you expect?)

I think the issue is that he was continuing to film normal episodes of his show throughout the process. The disguise stops working if he wears the disguise while publicly presenting himself as 'Matt Walsh', so it had to be a disguise he could undo when not filming the movie

I love that Matt announces his pronouns on the way out -- which technically makes far more sense than when you introduce yourself (given that 3rd person pronouns in reference to you are mainly used in conversations where you are not present). Not sure if he did that on purpose, but it beautifully highlights the egotism/ oppressiveness of this ideology -- the desire to force your will onto others even when you are not present.

I believe the camera crew probably have some excuse for being there (advertising? maybe they HIRED them with a public ad and Walsh's crew took advantage of that) and Walsh just showed up unscheduled and they didn't connect the two in their minds.

I want to know how he got all those cameras in the room of the first scene with the high quality audio on the main characters. Everyone must have been aware of the cameras and cameramen and asked who brought in the cameras and the purpose of them being there.
If I were to do something like this for a movie, the way I would do it is to have set up the event myself under an alias, rented the venue, hired the speaker, published the advertisements, let everyone who signed up know that it would be filmed (for DEI training or some benign excuse) and got their consent when they signed up. Thus, nobody would have been suspicious of the cameras, particularly if they were already there and set up before Matt arrived as an apparent event crasher.
