Love your videos. In particular, I appreciate your approach to lumber milling videos. Too many youtubers many spend way too much time showing sawing. I like the way you do it. And thanks for the trail cam shots. Always good. As to Madrone, I had a large one fall in my backyard (north of Seattle). Let it sit for about 5 years and then got it slabbed up. Stacked and stickered the slabs and then put ratchet straps on the ends of each stack. Four years later the slabs are all pretty straight though there is a fair amount of splitting. I've been resawing it down to 1/2" or so stuff for small boxes and other things. Seems pretty stable once you get past the split parts. For what it's work, it turned a greyish color though with a clear finish it looks pretty good.
Wow, I really like those tines of that adult bull at 1:45 . Always interesting to see how some new tines grow in in specific places. Makes me wish I could see more actually old bulls and their mighty antlers. They look amazing the more tines they grow with age. The nature you showed around the time of the snake was REALLY impressive. Picturesque! Makes me wish I could go there someday with a camera.
Thank you, I can't believe all of the magnificent creatures out during the day. You inspired me to purchase some trail cameras for my property in southwestern Oregon
Found your channel in the last couple weeks. It my new favorite. I've been binge watching and 👍 all I can I'm not working cause of fire season at the moment. It is nice to see your kinda of content being put out for the masses to be informed. As a 4 generation logger you're spot on with what you're saying. Keep it up.
Gorgeous land…..Here in Maine the Moose and whitetail curiously sniff the cams, the coyotes run away scared and the bears tear them down. Swap out my sd cards every few weeks….. footage is always entertaining. Cheers 🥃
Judging by the antler conformation on that big bull elk*, I'm guessing that the Wilson Forest Lands are located in northern CA. A fair percentage of older Roosevelt elk up on Vancouver Island tend to develop such basket crowns on their antlers too. Quite impressive property and wildlife you have there! * If it's not giving too much away, do you mind saying if the elk in your video is a Roosevelt or a Tule?
I dont want to be that guy, but those bull elk are still young men. Yeah, they're big, but I'd bet no older than 7-8 years old. Their racks get much bigger than that. Still good watching, and nothing to mess with. And thats pretty funny. That was some commitment to shenanigans by that cow. Thanks Wilson.
Got myself one of the ones you recommend from Amazon. I have had it a week or so, still learning to use it. I have discovered i have a rat problem at night, with my bird feeder, already!
It makes a subtle click when it starts recording. Not sure if that gets their attention or if it just looks and smells different than what they are used to.
Hello Michael! I've been enjoying your videos for awhile now. I have been looking for 2 years to find some Southern Oregon coastal forest land to retire and build a cabin on. Mostly looking on internet real-estate sites and not having much luck seeing anything in the 10-40 acres range. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Regards, Tim
Thank you Tim. I don’t know any secrets to getting land that the rest of you don’t know. The properties on the coast are old family properties. It still cost me a lot to buy the one of them I was able to so far.
What are the odds the cows have a hankering for something salty? Hard to say, cows are curios, strong and not as afraid of humans as other fur bearing varmints.
Outstanding! You have some healthy looking critters there. I've had bears remove/damage cameras, wood peckers drum on them and a squirrel chew through a case. Never had any issues with cattle except vanity - thousands of pictures of them camping out in front of the cameras... Was it just the tag end of the strap that piqued his/her/thems curiosity?
In WV we have problems with black bears messing with trail cameras and climbing treestands. My buddy has had the seat torn up on his Summit climber and his rail padding.
Cool video. My previous comment got deleted for no reason I can imagine other than I mentioned another channel a little north of this footage. Cows lick stuff, they got big tongues.
@USER........just so you know mountain lions are in mosts states .😮they lie to public like with everything..people beleive authorities...know people see them back in Illinois and all over the east west and south north ....my neighbor here in smokies mountains...had full grown BLACK MOUNTAIN LION..on his camera 8ft long..my other neighbor had 2 black mountain lions that stalked him and his chickens for decades..I've seen them at night..and one brown mountain lion jumped across the road on way down the mountain...and in my yard.i beleive it's what killed my Boston terrier...male...vet said so to....was at 2 am....don't be deceived those cats are everywhere..in usa..
Wish my grandparents were able to set up their family for life with manifest destiny free land grab…unfortunately I had to work for my 40 acres….didnt inherit my wealth
Here is the link to the trail camera:

It's almost like the critters know the camera is watching and don't like it🤣
In the cow's defense it wasn't being destructive, it just wanted the camera mooooved.
Definitely had a beef with Mr. Wilson. Well, you started it!
Udder nonsense
You guys are milking this aren’t ya?
Now you guys are just making me want to hear “Don’t Fear the Reaper” so that there’s some cowbells playing in the background. 😂
You guys are as bad as me with the puns. 😂 I thought I was the king of making puns but now my reputation is at steak.
That's a giant bull elk! Great video as usual.
Fantastic camera shots of animals here. Love your work Mr Wilson
The wildlife footage is unbelievable. Thank you, I now want to buy your suggested cameras. Amazing how many animals are out during the day.
You are fortunate to be living in the midst of all of that beautiful wildlife. Good for you. Thanks for sharing the bounty.
Beautiful to finally see open country on this channel!
Beautiful country!
obviously bessie had some kind of beef with the camera.
Little bit of everything out your way. Beautiful man!

that's some mighty big feelers on the one elk.

A couple of nice bucks on your property! Nice Elk also!

That’s Sasquatch slobber for sure
1:44 that dude is FULL grown! What beautiful country you have there!

Thank you and welcome to the channel. I am shut down for fire season too inland. Here at the coast I can keep going.

Thanks for replying to my question !
Just happen to find your video. Nice job
It was interesting to see the range of temperatures in your video. Mid 50's up to 97. Quite a range.
The 97 was from some unusually hot days we had for a few days on the coast. 50s here at night are typical in the summer.
I really enjoyed this video! Keep them coming!

A couple of those toothy critters could be a problem. What do you do for protection when you don't have your chain daw making noise.
Why do you need protection, from what an elk, deer, or possum? You don't need a gun everywhere you go.
Attacks around here by any of these animals are so rare, protection would be more likely needed in urban areas where two legged animals are.

Thanks, a great chance to view some amazing wild life. :)
That black bear after the bull elk..smelled your human presence. He made a quick turn
Apparently trail cameras are tasty.
What is it that those deer notice that camera ? Maybe they hear it turn on......very nice camera shots !
It makes a subtle click when it starts recording. Not sure if that gets their attention or if it just looks and smells different than what they are used to.
Good show thanks
Fun video, thanks for sharing.

Yep I had the end of the strap hanging loose. It appears that’s all it was after.
Pretty cool …you captured a lot of activity. Nice 👍
That cow got busted …😂
Little behind on videos. I’m here.

I didn’t delete any, just now getting to the comments on this one. I don’t mind mention of other channels. Yeah big tongues and slobbery.
@@WilsonForestLands Not saying you did, I figured it was a moderator. Great footage.
Some nice bucks roaming around👌🏼👌🏼🤘🏼
I was wondering iam from the east. Would it make. Sense to cut alot of the small trees to save on water for your huge trees. Love your vdo
what is the make and model of the cameras that you use. i own a nice bit of land and would like to put up a camera or two.
Assark PH960W I have a link to it in the description.
That was fun! Thanks.
Very nice video..
whoa, great quality video, but thats your normal.
Ok so it looked like a cow, but since you couldn't see a brand we can't be sure. Therefore we can take this as proof that "Bigfoot" is real !!!!
Good looking Elk
We get deer nosing our cameras quite frequently
Is there any kind of critter you don't have? Very nice!
We don’t have moose or grizzlies.
Great fun!

Bears like the smell of the lithium batteries thats why they chew on them.
Beef are after the salt from your sweaty hands that you are leaving on camera strap. Wash strap & camera & put on gloves.
🐻 tube 😁.
😁 thanks.
Bears knock done my trail camera couple of times every year, in my Colorado forest.
Your trees can see all
The meat and hunters😊😊
Did you catch the culprit? That's Vandalism.
No, I still don’t know which black cow it was. A lot of them look the same from that angle.
@@WilsonForestLands So one steak might have plastic in it.
All my comments contain Humor, take it with a grain of salt.
It certainly appears that your family have been good stewards of the land.
Definitely bigfoot
Wish my grandparents were able to set up their family for life with manifest destiny free land grab…unfortunately I had to work for my 40 acres….didnt inherit my wealth
In order to keep this one I will have to work to buy it. Just like I worked to buy the rest of my property.
Good show thanks
