This is the best tutorial on Slayer I've seen so far. I didn't know about how much velocity changes the sound. Looks like I've been using it wrong. Thank you so much for this tutorial! All of your tutorials are easy to follow and very helpful, and have often saved me when I'm stumped on something.
Because of this video I was able to make some shredding riffs. Depending on some notes I would run through hardcore for mixing to beef up the distortion and sound more metal. Thank you for this tutorial!
You never fail to amaze me, I’ve been watching for years and only seen all your diverse Hip-hop,Trap,Rap,Drill,Pop beats which already is insane amount of diversity… you can do Metal and rock all on FL… you deserve more credit my friend from one artist to another, you got a Serious Skill set
Growing up to rock and metal. And subsequently being a guitar player within those genres. I must say, your knowledge on our music is pretty good on the live playing, nuances of drumming and guitar playing. ( No hate for hip hop as i do take inspiration from different samples and such from them ) Came here looking for drum programming tutorials so i can have some drums on my songs. This was waaaaaaay more helpful then i could ever ask for. And i could add some funky stuff to my songs now as well. Heck, thanks alot, mate :D
dude u saved me a bunch im working a lil stop motion series and for a gutarist for the music was gonna cost me a arm and a leg but u sacved me a tone of money thank you
Proves FL Slayer isn't bad like people say, you just have to know how to use it like you do! I love your descriptive commentary of what you're doing by adding nuance to the sound, We can learn so much from this, thankyou
You could try assigning different mixer tracks for two instances of the same guitar plug-in and use an amp plug-in for each track. The stereo effect is pretty impressive.
This is kinda cute that you did that game :D Appreciated. Feels very weird to me, coming from metal and initially learning from this channel to do some Beats and what not also helped me greatly improove everything related to fl studio which I still have to use even for my Metal recordings. Suddenly I see a rock related video was kind of funny :D
If you have to use Slayer, you could randomize some parameters with automation. After that, record it. Change up the automation a little bit, and record it again. Pan one recording hard left, and the other hard right, and Ta-da! It sounds a little less cringe worthy.
hey i love youre tutorials i was wandering if you are able to make a bachata tutirial yo have a lot of latino followers bachata is a ganra of the dominican rep but thanks for all the grate work you do
i've watched this three times over, i know its an older video but no matter what i seem to do (i've tried doing exactly everything you did) i've also tried tweaking all sorts of effects, when i attempt the pitch bends i'm getting this disgusting clunk sound and i don't know whats causing it? its frustrating because i've been looking to do something like this for a long time
One thing that might help even more is to slightly put some notes off beat to humanize things. At least VERY slightly. Drums probably need it less, but you can make the guitar relatively sloppy sometimes.
Cool tutorial but damn that crash is PUMPING I’d say much less compression with longer attack and then do a parallel track with that harsher attack and a high ratio
I'm starting to think people don't even need these tutorials they just wanna figure out the genre you can't do.
I mean.. heavy metal rock isnt a genre but two very different ones.
LOL, so true. I am waiting for downtempo, polka dubsteb on the flute tutorial :D
“heavy metal rock” 😂😂😂😂😂. Amateurs
HahahHhaa
Metal comes under the general genre of rock, but yeah you are right really aha
I realize this is 4 years old, but MORE like this, MORE genre bending. Metal, doom, EBM, ambient, folk, tribal, pop, etc... thank you for what you do.
now its 6
i just bought FL studio for exactly this

slayer has the opportunity to sound so much better if you set it to a clean signal and run it thru guitar rig
I have done it, its so cool
Tom Fisher - i wish i knew how to do that.

Could you explain it, please?
@@user-cs3gl3pk4p put slayer on clean then set it to a channel in the mixer then add guitar rig on the mixer.

1. Wide stereo of Guitar,
2. Add bass, 3. Set one drum per track. It'll catch the quality vibe 👑 then master it

slayer is perfect if your trying to recreate Hugo's third strike theme.
Wish I had watched this video before creating my song Radioactive Termites. Perhaps at some point I will revise it. ^_^
