- Florianópolis is a Brazilian city, capital of the state of Santa Catarina, Southern Region of the country. The city is made up of the main island, the island of Santa Catarina, the mainland and some small surrounding islands.
With more than 100 beaches registered, it was previously considered that Florianópolis had 42 beaches, this being one of the municipality's slogans for decades and still often cited. Commissioned by the Institute of Urban Planning of Florianópolis (IPUF), for the first time, a complete survey of the beaches of the capital of Santa Catarina was carried out, in which more than 100 beaches were mapped. As the objective of the work was toponymic, to comply with the municipal law that determined the signage of all beaches, more than a dozen were left out, which were so unknown they did not even have a name.
Florianópolis has a population of 574,200 inhabitants, according to the 2022 demographic census by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
Ingleses Beach
Praia dos Ingleses is located in the neighborhood of Ingleses, north of the island of Santa Catarina, in the municipality of Florianópolis, capital of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.
It is a 4.83 km long beach, open sea, blue and warm waters and few waves, with lots of sand, where sandboarding is even practiced, a sport practiced by people of all ages on the dunes existing on site. Nautical tours are also offered.
