Despite the loss, I think we can all agree the silver lining is the return of Final Whistle and the our excitement to hear Mark recap each and every game this season!

One bright part of this match is hearing your podcast Mr. Griffiths!

It wouldn't be Wrexham if the road wasn't a bit bumpy. I really enjoying hearing your analysis of the game. I understand that all live game commentary is behind a paywall in the EFL. When that's not in the budget, I'll always enjoy Final Whistle. Thanks Mark

Thank you for your hard work and commitment Mr Griffiths. Can I just check that as a listener you have to pay to hear you commentating on match days now? Not complaining just checking!

We definitely didn't look sharp , perhaps through lack of challenge pre season and would have benefited from a game or 2 more against pressing teams . However tbf we did start slow last season and our midfield especially struggled away to Chesterfield where we were run ragged, but we soon kicked on after that game and I'm sure we will this season. Was really happy yesterday to see Bickerstaff cause problems and he will be a player for us, glad to also see Ollie back to his old self and looking dangerous.

Looks like L2 won't be a walk in the park for the newly promoted. Notts had a bad day too, we see. What's going on, if anything, between Parky and Ollie? Why wouldn't he start with Mulls out? The reality check, an expression used by the gaffer and others in the aftermath, is obviously what we need. The celebrations are over, yesterday's news. Time to get to work, Reds.

I wasn’t able to figure out how to play the ifollow video, and even using another device listen to your broadcast as I was able to do last year. Starting one would immediately stop the other. I suspect that I would need to spend another $178 for a separate ifollow subscription. Im very disappointed. 😢. Very sad international Texas fan here.

The desktop site was down. I don't think their servers could handle all the traffic.
I was able to play via the EFL iFollow app on my android. And then I was also able to stream on Wrexham's actual official website (through their iFollow link that they provide).
So really, the only method that wasn't working was the EFL site/iFollow site. Hope this helps.

I have not yet tried using a VPN service -- such as Atlas VPN. Apparently, you can give your computer another address, as if it was in the UK. I know UK fans can sign up for just an audio package, but I haven't yet seen how much it costs; but it has to be a lot cheaper . I am also in TX and also sad to miss hearing Mark , Bill, and Chey call out the match

I think it should be noted that Boyle and Tunnicliffe were both hurt, and I heard someone say that Parky said he had no other choice but to play TOC in the back. If that’s true, that makes sense and perhaps that would have strengthened the defense. Also wonder if Hayden and McClean joining in would add more speed on defense as well as explosiveness on offense.

Great video and comments cause that was a bumpy start to the Leauge 3 goals is something to cheer about defending is a our issue, attacking is play is good but recovery is horrible.

Olly has got to start, as does Hayden. Both bring physicality that’s needed at this level. Love hosannah on the left. Can’t wait to see what James McClean is about. We need that hard nose, direct and aggressive play. My non man of the match is OConnor should have not been starting on that backline. Don’t think we will see that again. It was not his best game. He doesn’t have the quickness needed to deal with this level of play. He needs to focus on his old days in league 1. Backline of OConnel, Hayden and Tozer. Bickerstaff should start next to Palmer. He’s an exciting kid. Also, need to figure out a way to get Davies more game time. Barnett is was our best player. That kid has mad skills on the right. Oh and Notts got totally prison showered. Talk about being bullied off the pitch. Their “pretty football” doesn’t mean shit at this level when you’re getting owned like they did. Sutton had their with them. Positives: we dominated possessions, had shooting advantage on attack and held our own as the game wore on. I’ll take our performance over Notts.

It is interesting to hear that the players appear to lack pre-season matches, particulaly from Phil Parkinson. Will the trip to the US, albeit necessary on one level to let the large following there have an opportunity to see the team play, be seen as a mistake?

Probably not in the long run, it got them extra funding which can be used in the next transfer window to buy better players.

I love these podcasts… apart from the incessant promotion of James Jones who is nowhere near good enough to push for promotion from this league. Oh, and Dalby who, although young and shows promise, is nowhere near good enough to start ahead of Palmer who is proven in the league. I do agree with avoiding negativity which was done well here but I’m afraid it’s time to move Jones on and bring in a proper midfield general (time for Young to move on as well). I still can’t believe we didn’t bag MJ while he was up for grabs. He totally bossed midfield yesterday. Hit the post and played a major part in 2 goals. Wrexham played around the outside of him and over his head all game because they couldn’t play in the centre at all. He was always available and his slick, quick passes had us beaten. The lack of quality in the middle and a poor decision to play Tozer and O’Connell together was the main reason for getting stuffed like that (let’s be fair, it was a hammering). You have to have a general in the centre midfield and a centre back with some pace. Let’s face it, Tozer isn’t quick and O’Connell couldn’t turn around a roundabout. Both read the game well but only one of the two should start. If the aim is promotion then something has to be added to midfield and another quality striker. McClean is a fantastic signing btw. We need a bit if ‘orrible’ and he can play a bit too. I was talking ti some Bolton fans who are made up we signed him because he wouldn’t be playing against them for Wigan this season. On that subject, I’m at the Wigan game and if we throw it by using it as a late pre-season friendly after me travelling over 100 miles there will be no mercy shown.

Wrexham struggled in America too. I watched the Philly game in person and was not impressed at all. The reality check is Wrexham is not as good as they think they are and needs a lot of work to catch up. They need Mullin desperately.

This is a very well researched video, even talking about Dons’ formations in pre season and our dreadful season last year. Hard luck, we have a good starting 11 but I think Wrexham will still be in a playoff hunt, good luck!
