Thank you for this, I started playing the game around 2-3 months ago during my free time and I never understood why I couldn't border escape most of the time (turns out I'm just not fast enough with my inputs), this seriously helps me a lot
I definitely agree. It's pretty unique in what it allows you to do with defense; bit too bad BE6 is so slow, if it was faster I think it would be a massive game changer... Well, more than it is
though command normal got RB, you can also guess opponent would 6BE to punish, so like the sakuya-youmu MU, sakuya could just 6A and 5A to punish youmu 6BEing blindly
I didn't really want to insert the counterplay because despite being a short it already felt kinda busy as a video. Generally speaking the way you counter BE6 on an average level (not everyone has a melee skill and counting on that as a main solution is bad) is to simply do nothing and recover from the Melee attack you have done or Projectile or whatever they BEed as your recovery is WAY faster than the total amount of frames necessary they need to act (26 at best + the Melee they choose which goes from 7 to 9 more extra frames). The other solution is to also simply throw a second wave of projectiles by going B into C or C into Skill. Its not hard to punish but this makes your pressure worse which is the entire point of using BE6 at the end of the day

Glad to be of service.
I'll try to make more of these guides in the future though I've covered a lot of topics i think?
I have played a bunch of fighting games now but I still think BE is the most interesting guard cancel mechanic in any game I've played

bullet > skill melee or backdash against BE6, or just don't do bullet cancel after command normal, just reset it especially WB
