    Great bike accessory. I've had the earlier version for quite a few years, I believe the mount is the only difference. The battery lasts a very long time. It indeed gets noticed.

    Pro tip: the 140db bird chirp mode makes people immediately look up to the sky for birds. 🦅 DO NOT USE

    Great review! Using rechargeable AAA is a plus for me. Half the world thinks it's too loud, another half not strong enough - so it must have the perfect loudness. Build quality seems above average concerning aftermarket bicycle horns, most are cheap breakable plastic and anemic. Thanks!

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Год назад +2

      Glad the review was helpful. AAA batteries is an interesting feature people hate or love. If you swap in some rechargeable AAA batteries you could get the best of both worlds - easy to replace and charge.

  • @zackketz

    I REALLY appreciate that it uses batteries and DOES NOT have a built in battery which means I don't have to throw this away when the battery goes bad.

    • @alexsainsbury2176
      @alexsainsbury2176 Год назад

      Your batteries are going bad because your leaving them at either 100% charge or low charge for too long.
      Lithium batteries like to be stored at 80-90% charge.

    I have one of these they are no where near 140db i doubt they are anywhere near 120db but they are okay, the first time i used the 140 setting it was a shared path blocked by a load of old pensioners but when i sounded the horn they all started looking up at the trees and house roofs, they thought it was some type of bird, the 120 horn sound even on trails no where near roads some people seem to ignore it so i give them a blast with the airzound XL, the 120 and 140 mode of the hornet sound about the same when it comes to loudness so i just use what i call the horn mode, i love the loudness of the airzound XL it is way louder than the hornet but the downside you have to blow the bottle up now and then, not much of a downside and no gas cans or batteries make it cheap to run and when people ignore the hornet this airzound XL makes them jump they cannot ignore that.

    • @TheSweetCyclists
      @TheSweetCyclists  Год назад

      Yes, the 140db mode isn't particularly useful with it's chirpy sound. As far as the 140db claim - it's likely measured fairly close to the speaker and drops off rapidly at further distances where people would actually hear it. It's loud in person but has an unusual tone.

    • @AWriterWandering
      @AWriterWandering Год назад

      Something to keep in mind as a dB measurements are actually based on distance. So it’s entirely possible this thing registered at 120 dB at whatever the distance they’re testing apparatus was. The problem is manufacturers often neglect to disclose what the distance was.

    I feel like a GoPro mount would’ve made more sense than a Garmin one. GoPro mounts offer a lot more mounting options. In fact many Garmin mounts have a GoPro option underneath, so you could potentially mount your Garmin on top and the horn on the bottom.

      @@YoMumzinnit I prefer the use of batteries...just get new ones when they run out. More often than not I forget to charge my lights and ended up having them die in mid-ride. With batteries I could easily get them at any minimarts around town.

    • @arcrides6841
      @arcrides6841 2 года назад

      @@blutinted4739 Who wants to ride around buying batteries from minimarts. F that to hell. But in the case of this horn the batteries last like a year so it's a non issue and in this case it probably is better to not have lithium ion batteries inside. Because with those types of batteries if you cycle them rarely they degrade quickly. They're designed to be used more frequently.

    • @OOTurok
      @OOTurok 2 года назад

      @@arcrides6841
      Lithium ion batteries don't develope memory & degrade, if you don't cycle them regularly.
      What degrades lithium ion batteries is rapid charging & leaving them fully discharged for long periods of time.
