"It's the spirit and life that flow from a failure to be humbled and broken and amazed, and satisfied by the grace of Christ. There's all kinds of attitudes, of pride, demandingness, lack of mercy, lack of compassion, unkindness, impatience. And these have their root in a heart that is not stunned by grace. Not broken and humbled by grace, not joyfully filled by grace, and that creates a legal spirit."

Salvation is a work of grace
    However we are commanded
To keep the faith and be zealous of good works
    Faith without works is dead!

That's great. I wouldn't say that's OCD, likely far from it. The doctrine of intercession highlights how Jesus eternally intercedes for those who are in him, before the Father. Let's always fixate on Christ, but know a repeated plea of forgiveness in unnecessary.

+ Romans 10:9-10 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Amen 🙏!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The man in Luke 16:24 cries: ". . .I am tormented in this FLAME."
In Matthew 13:42, Jesus says: "And shall cast them into a FURNACE OF FIRE: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
In Matthew 25:41, Jesus says: "Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting FIRE,. . ."
Revelation 20:15 says, " And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE." And please repent of all of your sins and be baptized by the Holy Spirit before it is too late, you will never know when the time will come 🙏!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen 🙏!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@BangeangRR I’d like to ask a question regarding that. When I end up committing a sin, I pray in my head to God for forgiveness. Is this necessary? If not, what should I do? Should I just acknowledge it and move on, knowing I need to do better next time, or am I doing the biblically correct thing already? I know you’re saved by faith, and that sin is a way of showing you your wrongs and leading you to Christ, but I ask God to forgive me afterwards every time I sin. I’m really not sure if this is right or wrong, so if you have a solid answer from the Bible, that’d be awesome.

Maybe I’m wrong but I think a major problem with the Christian “gospel” (meaning, as presented) is that it focuses on birth (being born) rather than life (living, subsequently to being born). The ground Martin Luther took, that protestants have worked so vigilantly to maintain (by faith alone, by God’s grace, by Christ alone, imputed righteousness, etc.) is usually laser focused on the new birth as a decisive moment of salvation (as in conversion, on a particular day). It is focused on ‘how we enter the Kingdom’-how we arrive on the scene, given power to become the children of God.
(I’ve heard that salvation is used in the bible is used to denote an event and also something ongoing (and also, I think?, something ultimate). My point is, we’ve under-focused badly on what Protestantism means in the context of the ongoing, post-birth life. Most of our life is not the day of our birth!)
What lay Christians, including me, probably need desperately, is more than a gospel that gives us _entrance_ into a new life which is based on faith, God’s Spirit and grace, etc. but a way to live this new life (post-birth forward) that is equally “gospel” and equally Protestant. This means, I suspect, ‘as you received Christ so walk in Him’-a clear application of the gospel to living (not being born) by faith, to walking in (not being born by) the Spirit, to the lack of contribution of human effort and of law keeping (not in the process of birth but) in the process of growing, resting, and productively living (apart from me you can do nothing).
It seems to me there are far fewer clear, concise, condensed statements on the post-birth life than there are on salvation as a one-time entrance into this new life. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel what we need is a statement of great clarity on the post-conversion gospel… possibly we are having trouble locating it because Paul never divided the thing up like that mentally. It seemed ‘obvious? to him that having begun with the Spirit there would not be a switch-over to human effort.
As you received Christ so walk in Him.
To put it more bluntly and less carefully, the problems Pastors diagnose as “slipping into legalism” might be better explained by, “What do I do now?”

I don’t know why Grace of redemption through the sacrifice and keeping of Gods laws as mutually exclusive. None of those scriptures quoted actually says that they are exclusive of each other. Grace is essential of course. But if you love Jesus you will keep Gods law. I could be wrong and my heart is open to that possibility but the explanation in this video falls short.

Salvation is by grace through faith without works, Ephesians 2:8-9, faith in Christ's finished work on the cross, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, if justification comes through the works of the law, then Christ died in vain, in Israel's prophetic program they had to keep the law, show faith by works, otherwise their faith was dead without works, today in the time of grace we are not under the law, but by grace, today faith without Christ is dead, so we need to learn to properly separate the Word of Truth in 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

I've gone from being an atheist to a believer in Jesus. I've come to really believe He is the Lord and aim to follow His teachings and have faith in Him. I want to obey, and ive felt the weight of the conviction of my sins and repented, and I know ive been saved.
But a pastor I've spoken to has refused to baptise me. He agrees and is encouraging of everything I have told him about the Lord leading me to faith. But he took issue with the order of things I said when I was explaining my beliefs. Because ackowledgement and confession of sins came further on in my conversation with the pastor rather than being the very first thing I said, he didnt like the order of my explanation. So on that basis he wont baptise me.
Is that legalism? Am i in the wrong? Am I unworthy to be baptised?

    • @kd8887
      @kd8887 Год назад +2

Heyy friend. You're not in the wrong. You believe right? And have confessed with your mouth right that He is Lord. Friend, then you are saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Rom 10:10
Baptism will not complete your Salvation. Your Salvation is complete once you make that declaration.
After that it's a daily renewal of the spirit of your mind through the Holy Spirit .
"He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit." Titus 3:5
Baptism is something people choose to do publicly to confess theyre belief and repetence, but the water bapstim does not cleanse or give you Salvation. Neither is it wrong or sin if you choose to do so. Christ is our baptism. The water of life. The Holy Spirit. The word.
Just wanted to clarify because Christ is our true baptism, Not the act of a man dipping you in physical water. Otherwise that would take away Gods glory and attribute Salvation to man. It's your faith and confession.
As for you pastor. If you do decide to get baptised i wouldn't go to him considering how he has denied you unrighteously when Christ has accepted you. Anyone who is saved can baptise you, not just pastors. You are not unworthy to be baptised. Your belief and faith and Christ's Salvation over you has made you worthy. So just remember that. Also don't rush yourself. Understand baptism first and once you decide to do it allow God to lead you to someone to do it for you. Stay blessed. Remember you're loved, saved and have grace. I'd also find a different church. That pastor is wild lol . Where in scripture does it say all that.

The idea that legalism flows from a lack of satisfaction in God's grace seems strange to me. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I think it's possible for well-meaning people to be legalistic. It almost seems like saying to somebody, "Okay; you're struggling with thinking you have to earn your salvation, so here's a work you can do in order to fix that problem! Be more happy in God!" It seems counterproductive to talk about this in this way.

Where in the Bible do God state his law is too difficult to keep? The opposite is found throughout scripture. The law being too difficult is a man’s doctrine not God. We must be careful when we add word or take away words from the Bible. The law can not lead you to salvation but the obedience of law can help you determine when you are in sin. Sin can lead you away from salvation. But for the believer, the law of God is not a burden: “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3).

Jesus was quoting from Scripture. There is a promise in Scripture that if you obey the whole law whiteout never breaking it, you will be saved. However, because of original sin, we are born inclined for evil, which makes it impossible for us to fulfill the whole law, we can try it, but we will never make it. When we break one commandment of the Law, we break the whole Law, and it is already impossible to find salvation through it. That why Paul says that the Law is not a means of salvation, but it is a means of showing a man that he is a sinner so that it can guide him to Christ. We we fail to find salvation in the Law, we have to find another way, and that way is the mercy of God through Jesus sacrifice, thats why the Scripture says “justified by faith, we have peace with God” also, “The just shall live by faith” and Christ say, “believe in me and you will be saved”. The Law is a mean to conduct the humble to Christ and to make arrogant fall, those who believe that they can keep it, will never find Christ, because they try to find salvation through works and not through faith. Hope it helped :)
