Well done! Bites been SUPER tough for those hali in the bay this season. Better one than none. Was there a couple weeks ago with my buddy Henry and he managed to get a 29 incher and one other bite. Super tough fishing though. Make sure to go around high tide cuz that’ll definitely maximize your chances. Good video once again
Nice bro, try not to net those shakers with a conventional net at all, once their tail is split and damaged they develop tail rot and are doomed to die. They make rubber catch and realease if you need to net a small one.
The fish at 9:50 certainly died. You can see blood pouring from the gills and its tail fins are all split from the net. Throwing them back doesn't help either. Show some respect for the fishery by taking care of the small ones. Use a rubber net for landing AND releasing them.
Nice vid. Keep it up. Don't forget keeper size is minimum 22", you were saying 21" in this vid. And can't use more than 2 rods at a time on a pier in the sf bay.
Good job on the video bad job at using a net on small fish and then throwing them off the pier those fish aren't going to make it and their tails are going to be split by your net.get a rubberized net
What I find interesting is how amateurs can now make even fishing off a grimy disgusting pier into a cinematic movie with todays cameras and editing software.
Hay would u be down to meet me at the alameda rock wall on the 5th for my birthday im gonna be out there all day and ill have bait covered . and im gonna be 16 this year
OK so you won’t believe this but the fifth is actually Joe’s birthday so unfortunately we won’t be in town for that day but I would definitely like to fish with you sometime!!

Thanks man we will buy one!
Right on bro, as outdoorsman it’s our responsibility to teach each other!👍
Try having your hook about 6-8 inches above the weight. It's the sweet spot for halibut bite. I noticed that hooks too hight do not produce as well
Make sure to check the regulations for halibut it’s 22 inches for a legal halibut.
also, in the bay 1 rod per person
@@benh5774 shut up I bought 2 rod license why would I use 1 idiot🎃
@@rickflare1240 cause u a 🤡🤡
@@benh5774 you don’t know shit about fishing you can have a extra rod on the pier so if I got 2 poles ima cast a 3rd 🤡

@@JZFishing can we use two hooks on a pole in the bay?

If you don't mind me asking but where do you get your rod holders from?
You gonna upload the one u caught earlier today?
Yessir!
hey man enjoy the video! im from san francisco and ive been wanting to start fishing. any tips on where the best places are?
I would try paradise pier or fort baker pier!
I’m a subscriber. Let’s go fishing
Hows halibut out there in october? Maybe thinking about taking a trip out there on the boat..
You can still catch them in October but it’s a better idea to target them more towards July
Is there any smaller fish out there? I dont have correct gear for halibut but i mean like rockfish, surfperch, jacksmelt, etc.
Yep lots of surf perch rockfish and smelt!
Bro I use a super light setup for halibut trust me u can catch em with watever u have
I subscribed. I fish in Texas. Come catch here some flounder. Smaller but good eating
That’s awesome thanks for subscribing
Dude the legal size for halibut in California is 22inches. You better be careful taking illegal sized fish. Check it out.
Excuse me, but I think the way they are dropping fish below the measure is wrong. The fish gets hurt if they throw it off the pier.
New sub, I'll be in SF for about a week. What fish is in season now? Where should I go? Love the channel BTW
I would try either rainbow trout fishing at bon tempe reservoir or stingray fishing at Loch Lommond yacht habor in San Rafael
Ok that's fine
But yeah we should definitely meet the next time i go to Frisco
For sure

Ayyy thanks man!
New subscribers bro keep the good work might visit that spot out there, try spot out here by crocket and Benicia park
We will have to check it out, thanks!
How much weight do you need out there ?
We bring a range of 2-7 ounces
Lol bro keeper halibut is 22 inches!!
Good to know!
Lol

Thanks guys!
Great video. Do you know if they will allow you to access the pier after hours?
Not really sure I didn’t even see any hours I think it’s open 24 hours a day
@@JZFishing awesome. I'll be there sometime this weekend for rock 🦀 maybe leopard shark.
@@Boxerdogg02 good luck tell me what you catch!
Nice video
How long is your net pole?
Thanks
Thanks man I believe it was 10 feet it wasn’t mine.
nice... are those 2x4's there already or did you put them there?
They were actually already there when I got there
Okay to launch a kayak here? Or somewhere nearby?
There is a launch across the bay at Fort Baker that is free!
Good video today. Have you tried Pier 14 next to the SF Ferry Building? I've seen videos of halibut being caught there also.
We’ve yet to try but we will soon

Totally!
How about picking up a lil "TRASH" while you're waiting for a bite🤔
They as big as a rug❗ 😬
Thanks for tail rotting every fish you net and throw back. You can't use that type of net my friend.
