Sometimes the Kingdom Hearts Community can take an unconfirmed theory and run with it. In todays video we take a closer look at Eraqus, Brain, Ephemer, and all the rest of the Dandelions to see how much we REALLY know about Eraqus' "Grandfather"

Many of us expect Xehanort to pull off some crazy "4D Chess Move" in the next saga, but don't forget that Eraqus was the better "Chess Player"
Eraqus was a cheater
At the end of Dark Road, Eraqus said that Xehanort was better than him despite him playing longer
Watch them bring young Xehanort back due to the Master of Masters twisting him, and him planning for it, so the young Xehanort we met was already a split from what we knew based off the eye color change. New Xehanort will be an ally. That’s my call

I admit…I’m grateful for the red herring of the player and Xehanort that we all thought was they’re the same person…it certainly was interesting
Possible Eraqus is also descended from both Ephemer and Brain as well. Ephemer would likely have become middle aged or older by the time Brain pops up in Scala and could very well have had kids or grandkids that were around the same age as Brain was at the time.
Could actually be funny if we get a scene with Ephemer, now a wizened master trying to play matchmaker and set up his old friend with his kid/grandkid.

Yeah, i think we can throw punnett squares and hair color genetics out the window in games like KH, where people have such unique hair and eye colors. I mean, its not entirely useless, but its definitely not good enough evidence in itself. Basically, It can help support a case, but dont make it the foundation.
That being said, my bet is still on brain, but you did make some good argument, and it does sound like the kind of twist Nomura loves too pull, he really loves to subvert expectation sometimes.
Honesty, 2 of my favorite series are KH and the Kiseki series, and they're both massive, long running series with interconnected and interwoven stories. Kh started in 2002, and Kiseki started in 2004, although i didn't get into either game until like 2015 with KH, and 2017 with Kiseki. Part of me really wants to see where it all leads, but part of me knows that a lot of the magic is in the journey, which includes theories and speculation.
What about the master defender key blade. Didn't brain say to emphemer "this was meant for you"
I remember there was a scene in Wonderland in Dark Road where Xehanort and Eraqus repeating something Brain says in Union Cross. Brain starts the sentence talking to the gang, and we flash forward to Xehanort/Eraqus finishing his thought. KH usually links scenes together like that for a particular purpose, and I think that's establishing that Brain is related to one of them. We know Xehanort can read people's hearts and sees their memories, so either he's the one related to Brain or he's just seeing a memory of Brain through Eraqus, which I assume would mean they have a connection aka they're from the same bloodline.
So I guess we're still at a 50/50 of who's related to Brain: Xehanort or Eraqus haha.
Oh wait the "Xehanort is descended from Ephemer" line at the end of Dark Road exists...
Then yeah thematically it's more compelling that Xehanort's related to Ephemer and Eraqus' related to Brain. Mostly because the former don't see eye to eye, and the latter being really good friends.
Yeah, Xehanorts lineage is no question - the question now is - did Brain fall in love with one of Ephemers Descendants in Scala?
But yeah, this is why i said several times in the video that I'm still in the Brain -> Eraqus camp
I think the reason Xehanort sees that scene is because Xehanort peered into Bragi's heart accidently and if Luxu possessed Brain using Darkness, then they can sense that scene by detecting the Darkness in Luxu/Brain/Bragi. It is the Presence of the Ancient Darkness of Luxu that contains the Memory complexes of the people They have been . Xehanort and Eraqus can sense Them indirectly.
Guess that would make Xehanort Eraqus's distant causin, cus "supposedly" in Dark Road when old man "Player Character" was taking care of "Toddler Nort", old man player character said that, Xehanort was related to a "Dear Friend" of his and who was Player Character's bestest friend?...It was "Ephemer".
Awesome Video :) So If Eraqus Ancestor Is Ephemer Then It Means That Eraqus And Xehanort Are Brothers? :) Since It's Confirmed In Dark Road From The Player That Xehanort's Great-Great Grandfather Is Ephemer, Wouldn't Both Eraqus And Xehanort Know Who's In Their Family Blood-Line And If They Had Siblings Or Not. :) Always Thinking That Riku Is In The Same Family Blood Line As Xehanort And Sora Is In The Same Blood Line As Eraqus Of Their Body Language, Personality, And Appearance. :)
It’ll be interesting to see if Nomura brings Sora and Riku into those lineages. I think Sora is related to Ephemer due to his strong heart and connection to light. He also being the child of destiny. I think Riku simply was a good keyblade wielding candidate from his youth and Terra bequeathed him. So in a way Riku is part of Eraqus legacy or family tree

Damn Landi. Mad respect for making this to explain that- yeah it is really thin evidence to suggest they are related when our first impression only really formed this from Brain summoning Master Defender. When Master Defender was really only given to Brain when it was supposed to go to Ephemer. I feel like you heard me when I pointed that out. It’s valued and appreciated.
To be fair about the Player-Xehanort Reincarnation Theory, they directly showed Player having visions of the future, where he sees NOT JUST OldGuyPlayer taking care of Xehanort, but also WELL BEYOND him dying and Xehanort becoming friends with Eraqus in Scala ad Caelum. So that was more of a rugpull/oversight than people just reading into it too far.
I believe they even patched that scene after the game went Offline Reading Mode Only to make it seem less like that, which would be an admission from the team that they were giving the wrong idea.
I fault Noone for jumping to conclusions on thay particular plot thread, however if they pulled a move like that on us once, whose to say they wont do it again?

"?Por que no los dos?" Why not both? How do we know Brain didn't marry one of Ephemer's great great great great grandaughters as his wife, making Eraqus descended from them...both?
While this is a interesting speculation, I would like to counter with Xehanort already being a child from Ephemer bloodline as it was revealed at the end of Dark Road. Which makes it weird to reveal Eraqus as another child from Ephemer. Plus I like the implication that even if Ephemer and Brain never got to reunite. Atleast their own children did and befriend one and other.
Correct me if I am wrong, but Blue Robed Player only tells Xehanort that his "Great-Great Grandfather was a Keyblade Wielder"
If i was a betting man, I would pick Ephemer.
But in the absense of other evidence its pretty thin. Also consider he said "Wielder" not "Master"

It’s after a montage of teen Xehanort with his friends at Scala. It shows Ephemer walking up to Player on the ground after the Keyblade war and Player saying “coursing your veins is the blood of Ephemer, a dear friend of mine.”
Perfect, thats a down right confirmation.
Ill add to this what many in the comments are saying - "Why not both?" that its possible Brain (now in the future) will fall in love with one of Ephemers Descendants in Scala, essentially making both Eraqus AND Xehanort descendants of Ephemer.

That’s definitely a possibility, but it just seems a bit too late to make them related/brothers. As I don’t know where that could be mentioned or even play a significant part? If this was before KH3 or while Dark Road was still going on. Then I could be more open to the idea as those two entries did have their main focus being on Xehanort and Eraqus at times.
Yup, this is why even in the video I made sure to say I am still in the camp of Brain -> Eraqus, but there are just a few things surrounding the scenario that cast me into doubt.
I hope we'll get REAL answers soon. And let 2024 be THE Kingdom Hearts YEAR
what happen if it is both? like we know brain got there after ephemer already establish everything so he is either old or dead,what happen if brain got one of his descendants pregant? pretty fucked up but still
It would be funny if the twist was both Eraqus and Xehanort were descendants of Ephemer, and Brain just has no established lineage.

Maybe there are two bloodlines that split from emphamer one descendent was Xehanorts mother and the other was either the missing grandfather or father led to Eraqus.
I still think it's brain because if he was related to Ephemer wouldn't that just make him his great great great great great grandfather
Theoretically, problem is we dont have a definitive measure of time between Epehemer's Scala -> Eraqus in BBS

Honestly it seems likely that Brain married a decadent of Ephemer. I don't see why it can't be both. It would make Eraqus' bloodline very blueblood. That said I kind of want to see exactly what ML is going to be using the idea of bloodlines for before I decide on any theory about it.
I am not sure how important blood ties are actually going to end up being.
I honestly do like the idea of Lea, Isa, and Ienzo all having ties with Scala/ML. Ienzo has already been mentioned to have parents that are no longer around which hints that his parents might be something important. I am not sure about the older members of the Radiant Garden Lab needing ties. Maybe Braig but for the older characters I don't really feel the need to make them more important in such a way. Though I also really like the idea of Lea being just a common dude, he is honestly the best fit for the common dude of all the characters(even though most people say that Sora is the one that fits I have never been able to see it). Then again Remus also fits the common dude feel in much the same way that Lea does so them being related in any way does fit, as does them just being an echo of each other.(Lea and Remus are both other brother figures as well)
That said learning Terra and Aqua's blood ties are likely going to be the most interesting.
I would love to see the collector from the owl house to show up in kingdom hearts, you could argue he would be to op but they could just have their siblings weaken them. Also it would be cool for data sora, data heartless sora, and all the different bug types from recoded to return.

I can draw a parallel to Wreck it Ralph on this too. So last time I mentioned Ava has a lot of supposed evidence to be his ancestor. The sly Fox line among other things. But Ephemer and Ava were kinda close, no? I know it kinda implies things about Skuld at the end, but then again Skuld is constantly compared to Ava.
Anyway here’s the Wreck it Ralph parallel. Fix-it Felix and his golden hammer represent Master Defender and Ephemer (Mjolnir) Felix gets a crush on Calhoun and falls in love with her- and it’s mutual. He falls in love with her “High Definition” graphics. Aka the fact that she has movie cutscenes. Calhoun is Ava. She gives the exact same speech to Hero’s Duty as Ava gives to the Dandelions. So, what if Ephemer and Ava actually hooked up?

Doubt it lol 😂 I don't think Luxu is the type to have kids let alone getting a girl. and remember, he was so casual about when eraqas died hin BBS he practically didn't care

@@Saliha189Yeah but maybe I overthink this but in Dark Road, Bragi, who ended up being Luxu, was rather close to Eraqus. When Eraqus wasn't with Xehanort, he was with Bragi. And considering that Bragi was Luxu and there's a weird thing between Brain, who's rumored to be linked to Eraqus, and Luxu, I think it's not a coincidence.

I don't think Eraqus and Xahanort are related to Ephemer or Brain I think Eraqus and Xahanort are brothers how else are we going to get the union leaders to fight against the foretellers
Something similar to this way of thought, I have wondered how "important" bloodline is going to be for 4. Keyblade wielders/masters might put an emphasis on it but what has that accomplished? Such as in the end of 3 you use the keyblades "true power" and fail. Sora changes the timeline and uses his connections to save the day. Sora Donald and Goofy do not seem to relate to any bloodline.
Well... Ephemer has the keyblade of Eraqus, I was never a believer that brain was a descendant of Ephemer after this scene...

how can we have been deceived. nothing has been said of who Eraqus's descendents are? ALL we know is that Eraqus is descended from Bluebloods/royalty
Oh its not KH that fooled us, it would be US that fooled ourselves.
However the comversation among the fanbase be it RUclips, Reddit, Twitter, Twitch is that Brain is Eraqus' ancestor - and for good reason - just made this video to say we "COULD" be wrong
