Glad you liked it, thanks. I must admit I never knew his playing all that well. My wife is a huge REO fan and I brought her. They blew me away. Very talented, especially Amato.
I like that guitar - it looks like the paint’s worn from playing but then when the camera zooms in you can see it’s random paiseley & fractals - I wonder if it’s by design or if it was painted onto the places where the paint wore off. The guitar looks like a worn & battered pair of sneakers that’s been fully restored by a high-end British cobbler.
That's a great description! I thought it was worn as well. I saw a video where he was going through his rigs he uses in stage and he talked about that Strat. The only strat I think he uses. It is a vintage model but I can't recall the year. Amato is a huge collector.
@@Spagz - Thank you for the link! I was checking out that same video just yesterday. He shows a yellow-colored strat in it, but not the black paisely one - but you’ve got to love the red V with the huge braced tremolo!
its a John Cruz masterbuilt fender custom shop hss strat with a floyd rose, black over pink paisley finish. Imagine a custom shop 57 strat finish in pink paisley, then refinished in black and slightly worn so you start seeing the paisely again
Man.... I really miss Gary Richrath........
He was great, had a really good tone too.
amato the best

It seems insane how fast he can play. I actually thought the video was sped up! But then realized the audio was still normal. lol
What I wouldn't give to play like that! Thanks for watching.
Miss Gary Richrath!
I get it, but Amato is awesome too.

@@justinguitarcia wow thanks for that! Sweet guitar. You know your stuff!
Where was he hiding the pick when he was doing all that tapping? He sure got it back in his fingers in a jiffy.
Yeah crazy right? He really impressed me. Total pro.
You can see the pick in between his pointer and middle finger when he taps. Can see the white outline of it.
@@the.original.K yeah I see it now. Good eyes!
Back on the road again??
Of all the solos I’ve seen him play, I think there was a better .52 second solo.
Ugh. Yea he can play but if you want to be true to the song start by playing a Les Paul. No tapping, no whammy bar etc. RIP Gary One of the greats.
Good player but even with the tapping and whammy can't match Gary Richraths brilliant guitar playing but no one can he was a original
He had more heart in his playing. Amato is more technical I feel.
