- With the new Classified Deadeye, the Gearset has become more powerful despite the nerfs to both the SVD and its out of cover functionality. In this video I want to show you how you should be building DeadEye to get the most out of it and how you can get to the point of killing other players with a single bullet to the body.

Great video bro! I have a five piece dead eye classified because I just can't seem to get the knee pads to drop for me out of the superior caches. I've opened over 60 of those damn things, and have two sets, and some of each of the other two classified gear sets, but can hardly get anything of dead eye to drop. Literally just got the 5th piece. If I can ever get those knee pads I will definitely use reckless for the extra damage. Also, and this has nothing to do with this video, but was super hyped being on console, but I FINALLY found a team for clearsky, and we ran through it in 6 mins which is absolutely record time for me so I was really excited about that lol. I kinda like it. High risk high reward. Gives hope to the solo player. Makes solo dz worth doing. If you play smart you can take down those manhunts teams before you get focused down. In before triggered "get gud" comments, lawlz.

I like that it rewards a tactical player, like you said earlier it punishes you harshly if you mess up and let people get close.

It's outside the box which makes the gear set unique in its own way and rewards u with supernova damage
love the svd.not a big fan of deadeye and or classified deadeye..ran the 5 piece classified and the 4 piece standard and went right back to using the svd with either my high end build with skulls or my newer 5 piece final measure.and run it all crit all day..and dont even really notice the recoil buff at all since i always use steady hands...but even up close a svd with all crit is deadly if you shoot down the sights..and not only that a svd just sounds awesome with a loud vent break on it...great stuff here marco you really broke it all down for the masses and interesting idea using mobile cover..makes sense keep em coming marco..i like your in depth breakdowns and tips and tricks

I have dead eye an I've been killed by dead eye anytime I died by one I can only respect how much work a person put into their build an I'll go work on mine I feel like it doesn't need buff the ppl who have a problem can just build one too but all in all this video is kinda a slap in the face to those ppl who worked so hard to accomplish the one shot

Marco, you need to check the additive effect of CHD - adding 9% CHD on your BP to a 160% CHD build only adds 3.4% extra damage, not 9%. Same for the 6 pc buff, which ranges from 20% to 100%. This adds 7% to 37% extra damage, but not 20% to 100% extra damage. All down to CHD being additive. Thanks.
MarcoStyle Let the gear be. A nerf from Massives end is like making the gear unplayable. Massive aren't quiet right in the head because they seem to only make things worse.
Well i cant get any of these gears beacuse as soon as i enter the darkzone either i get 1 shoted or 4v1nd i cant do anything

Marco- i think this is your best "take" on Deadeye yet. i totally agree that nerfing this set through mechanics is not the way to go. i think that every patch they have changed Deadeye a little bit and now all those little changes have left it in a bad place. they havent looked at the "big picture" once all the small changes add up (and the changes to critical damage too). if i had my way, they would return deadeye back to 1.3 ( remove hipfire tho) and add a crit damage modifier (like you suggested). something like x0.7..... but remove all the in cover, zoom, and scope requirements. it is my hope that someday deadeye can return to the fun, fast paced set it used to be. i think the set will really flourish if massive can figure out a way to give back the original choice between precise zoomed headshots for chunky damage, and quick, ADS bodyshots for more normal dps output (similar to an AR TTK). i think if they can find a balance between the headshot damage and the crit damage, to make the player choose, it would restore skill back to the set and create cool hybrid deadeye builds (that dont focus exclusively on crit damage).

Shooting from distance, optimal range is the most important thing for all my Sniper builds. The greater the distance you are away from your target means they can't shoot back at you, can't throw out seekers or grenades. All my Marksman rifle builds are built for range, the best being 101 metres with x15 scope which is deadly for getting precise headshots.

I hope they plan to add another handful of guns like they did before, honestly I havent even got any of the new ones they added before but the PP-19. I see them pop up in vendors very rarely and when they are there I either cant afford it or its crap compared to what I already have sadly. Like where's the FN2000? some more pistols would be nice too, also the serbu super shorty shotgun needs to be a sidearm! I love that they added these encrypted caches, just hope they add more stuff you can get cause im sure people have already got everything. Im really digging 1.7 I like the Global Event, and have played quite a bit more than usually when I come back to Division for a while.
People are so quick to cry for nerfs instead of trying to figure out how to beat a good build. This build is amazing and should be left as is. Deadeye is, arguably, the most balanced Gear Set. Leave it alone. (No, I don't have a Deadeye build, I run Predators and Banshee.)

i tried the 6 piece, but went right back to a high end build with skulls and svd or carbon..plus i love the sound of the svd with a loud vent brake on it.your dead on marco.yes the 6 piece is cool..but i can do way more damage quicker with the high end and skulls and all crit build, as i always run with lavoa and svd for just about everything in the division..svd is more than just a sniper rifle, i use it more as an assault rifle like the mdr and shoot down the sights more than scoping.just a personal preference and it took a shit ton of practice and i thought i heard something about them changing the recoil on the svd.but if they did i have not noticed because of steady hands talent.again you are so right about that one.always on point marco and take something away from your videos every time.much appreciated..namaste
Marco, the 9% CHD from your kneepads does not translate to 9% extra damage just because you have 100% CHC... It works out at about 3.5%. Remember the crit multiplier is (1 + CHD) so you need to add all your CHD together before multiplying it by all the other damage modifiers. I did a video on it which goes through it in detail...

an SSr can give you more base damage, higher rof and bullets than a svd. recoil wont be an issue since you have steady hands and the buffs from mobile cover.

Just got the 6 piece deadeye set last night and to be fair none of the classified gear sets are a patch on my tactician turret build although classified lone star set with the hungry hog and show stopper is pretty good. The hungry hog was hitting over 100000 per bullet (7400 firearms)
I played the pts and made a one shot dead eye sniper build I new it needed to be nerf again but it was the big counter when people we're running 1 reclaimer and the rest striker cheese back in the pts so you can drop them In their station and take out a whole team cheesing which I'm pretty sure that cheese is going to come back to life with the next live event so I'm on the fence about that if it's anything like the pts we are going to definitely need strong dead eye builds that's a fact

This makes me feel a little better because I’m still waiting for the sixth piece !! You get 20% every second up to 100% for 10 seconds so you have only 5seconds of 100% extra crit hit ? Weird bonus I think so

I feel like u need to look at the deadeye problem both ways because yes it does demolish players with ease but, it's only because stamina was nerfed to the ground and made everyone not spec into it.Meaning everyone's health is around 160k-200k. They should at least try next pts to restore stamina to its original capabilities and see if deadeye is still a problem. Now I know that having more health is great and all but deadeye would still hit hard. And although that maybe the case, having a bit more health making u surivive the 230k crit could let u react and try to flee or fight. Hopefully this does work and if not than seriously cap crit damage on deadeye build only.

On console the marksman rifle are slow as hell to move the reticle while zoomed in. Seems on PC the mouse gives you a huge advantage.
You're always going to have an advantage in movement w/ PC because you control the movement speed, not a button.

Love the dead eye gear set, its a high risk, high reward gear set, it may do a carp ton of damage but theres always a down side to this, they're going to have low health making easily 1 shotable with a good sniper build or shot gun build, but either way the gear set it awesome.
I like deadeye i think there are several things that are really powerful in this game and deadeye is in a good place
I think Deadeye is in a good place right now because yes you can do a lot of damage if you tac advance booster shot and have a tac pulse but you have to play it very smart or you are going to die very easily. If you dont have a team with a healer you can expect to die twice as often
I've actually been rolling away weapon talents that are situational to keep full-time ones. I rolled Brutal from Competent on my M4 because 4 piece Striker, 124% headshot damage, and One is None stacks up quickly.
What about a ginal measures build for pve guide? Vould you do it? I'm curious to see your approach on this build for beating the hardest content on the game. Think as a player playing with randoms only, so without the buff the coordination of players gives. As always congrats on your analysis, totally agree with you even if I gave up on pvp on this game.
The role of the sniper continues to confuse game developers in pvp games. Snipers are force multipliers, using specially trained tactics to conduct stealth recon, deplete enemy morale, and protecting their fellow soldiers, as well as, SOMETIMES killing specific targets from LONG RANGE.
There role is NOT to run to a street corner, mow down the enemy, then run to another corner and do the same. If the Deadeye build is to have such a huge bonus as the 100% crit damage, then the proc requirement should be staying in the same cover position for a minimal amount of time, such as 3 seconds. Once it is proc'd you can use the crit bonus to kill one player, but then to get the bonus again, you must move to another position and wait for it to proc again before getting the bonus, and so forth.. At least this would require the "going through the motions" of setting up a sniper position and it paying off. Snipers also do not generally have the support of healers or medics, so perhaps if the above idea didn't work, at least make it so wearing deadeye meant you didn't receive groups heals while in the DZ or last stand while wearing at least a 4 piece deadeye. Something has to change, they nerf one op build, only to buff another into mega-op status.
JR N and with that deadeye would be useless in pve. All these nerfs for pvp is killing the pve content. Leave it alone.
I haven't been able to do a legendary alone since the seekers went to heck... There shouldn't be nerfing on pve, maybe I'm just a casual player, but the pve seems to be pretty hard already.
They aren't "snipers" in the game... "Designated Marksmen" is what they are. Infantrymen with more precise weapons. The weapons referred to as DMRs, or Designated Marksman Rifles. People just say sniper to sound cool.

Would the 6 piece classified set and 4x 2% pulse crit dmg performance gear mods make sense? I just got 6pc classified set last night and haven.t tried that out yet. That would put my crit damage at +186%. The six piece bonus does seems to be broken for me though as I have yet to see it activate once.

I meant to say my weapon stat perks are inactive. That's the part where I have trouble of making them active. I sometimes have trouble of meeting the requirements.
Could u maybe post the relevant stats on the sheet for this build that u have? Firearms, Crit Hit Damage, Armor Damage etc. I tried to do it myself to the best I had cant surpass the 100k Mark on Rogues.
you can re calibrate 2 attributes on classified gear instead of the normal 1

Great video. Still can't wait for some PVE sets. I don't PvP. And DeadEye is definitely not a PvE set for sure.
I have 3 pieces of Classified Lone Star so far. Hopefully can get the other 3 pieces before Tuesday. I think that would be a fun new build besides my Striker/Specialized/Nimble PvE shredding machine build.
Edit: I also have a god rolled Ninja Backpack but have really no idea what to do with it besides 3 tactician, 2 FC. But I hate skill power builds. Might try it out anyway, haven't had a skill power build since 1.3.
Hello. Great vid Marco. I tried dead eye (on pc) with regular gear set to use on pve content. Idk if I did it all wrong but I got much more dmg with 3 deadeye/4 sentry and headshot focus.

Before we start nerfing anything or suggesting a nerf or reevaluating let all of the classified gear sets come out. I'm sure each gear set will have their OP aspects.
Patience we just got the damn set. The other thing is Marco when you call for a nerf the devs basically do it so please be considerate of other people's play style before you suggest a nerf.

I know your comment is old, but they are nerfing yet another skill build with reclaimers. Massive wants a cover shooter where all we use are guns and no skill builds. Tacs classified looks abit underwelming, when preds gets its buff from stam, basically killing all skill kills.

RetroNerdLife If they just want a "realistic" cover to cover shooter, then they might as well take away Heavy Stamina builds that are tank and require no intelligence to play and just require you to dance around soaking bullets.
What Massive needs to do is, make it so that the Sets function differently when against other players instead of changing set completely or nerfing it to the point it is completely useless
This game is meant to be a rpg style game where stats, gear, and the talents chosen affect your performance, but of course that got.thrown out the window when a.bunvh of CoD kiddies couldn't grasp the idea of strategy.
Massive fan dude. However past three or four weeks my Deadeye seems to have been softened. Hits are it registering and if they do some are only 40k.
I have a near identical build to yours and have changed nothing. I've went from one shotting to having to four shot some players - this has been happening since before 1.8 dropped.

Anyone having weird sensitivity issues with the C79 scope (3.4x) on marksman rifles? I have to crank the DPI on my mouse to a bazilion to make the zoomed in motions feel decent...
Tudor Luca thought it was just me. I play on Xbox and all scopes feel slow or lag. No matter what I do to in game settings

Historian Actually does more dmg vs SVD if youre spec'd all into FA. Just saying Marco...
Historian does about 70k dmg with extra dmg, but does less overall dmg.

Well, I guess we all knew this was coming.
Now imagine that deadeye build with the Historian. Sure its not as op as the newly nerfed accuracy of the SVD but that exotic effect on it. Sounds like fun. lol I mean 80K damage bonus if you have a flat 10K Firarms. By the looks of it Marco you were hitting 79ish K hits with the SVD. I honestly don't see a downside to using the Historian in this regard. Then again the speed of combat maybe the issue.

Surprise!!! Like any and nearly all Snipers should be. Thing is, does it matter? Just take your time and be precise. Marco said so himself at 0:50 seconds. Deadeye is all about the damage. In any event it was also stated that your basically squishy and if you get caught out your more than likely going to be dead. So just take your time, place your shots. If you think about it 2 shots, your done. Move onto the next guy. I mean body shots are easy if your playing as Marco describes you should play as a Deadeye player. Besides... If they get close just spam point blank. Sure they will be all up in your scope but all the more hits you'll get, not to mention you have all that time before they actually DO reach your position.
And yes I assume by what you mentioned Silver that you think me a simpleton for saying I don't see a downside to the Historian. I know well how BS the SVD is and I know well as to why Deadeye was initially nerfed because of it. That beside the point however. If it is all about the damage... like I said I really don't see the downside. If people can't compensate for the FACT that the Historian pulls to the right on every shot and correct that issue as it happens well then I guess I'll just keep doing more damage and you guys can keep your SVD's lol. But when you guys randomly die to some punk with a Historian and little over 10K firearms from only 2 shots, well I'll be sure to give yall a salute from me. Assuming its not a PvP match where I need to kill more of ya:P
The exotic talent isnt a critei
I know the "Historian" Talent doesn't crit, and never said it did. My point is that the normal damage you deal with the Historian is the same as the SVD. 10K Firearms, slap on that deadeye set, boom svd is critting for 68ish K damage. The Historian is also a sniper rifle just like the SVD. Damage is the same. Hence Historian is also critting for 68K damage. Still following me CultofNep? Good. As a recap we just discovered that both guns will do exactly the same amount of damage assuming the gear is exactly the same and the they both crit with the deadeye. NOW we take into consideration the Talent on Historian. History Repeats or W/E the hell its called now. With 10K Firearms, that's 70K damage.
((NON-CRIT) Since the TALENT doesn't crit))
Now to wrap it up every time you hit an enemy with the Historian : Initial hit 68K damage (using deadeye) + 70K damage from History Repeats. 138K damage in one shot.
SVD 68K in one shot. Sure the crosshair bloom is stupid AF, just take your time and your fine.
On the other hand even if your not running deadeye a 10K firearms, a History Repeats will always deal 70K damage every time as long as you land the hit. Only reason why I suggest the use of Deadeye is the plan and simple fact that I am a lazy PoS and a larger target is easier to hit. Considering I just need to hit them, doesnt matter where.
