I'm curious how many of the instances of poor grammar and malformed words you translated. Stuff like "medical resistance" or "why come Shakespeare was awesome."
"Strong Bad, the good times are over! I swallowed your computer!" *"YOU **_WHAT?!!!"_* "Oh I mean a small bug. I swallowed a small bug." Still one of my favorite jokes in these cartoons.
This was my favorite H*R cartoon back in the day. It helped shape my humor so much! I still use “i am now!”, “and that’s why come”, “hey look, a little guy!”, “oooh boolean operators!”, and “do you need medical resistance” in my lexicon. So great.
I love how there's no context for anything. What mistake did Strong Sad make that lead to him being called Dairy Queen? Why is the King of Town gossiping to Pom Pom about the Poopsmith? Why is Bubs burning evidence? What the heck is the plot of the show Strong Bad is watching? Why does Strong Sad need underwear?
It was so uncanny the vocabulary was also found in idiocracy around the same time period. “Why come you don’t have a tattoo”. Quoting both at the same time always makes me feel alone. I too will laugh one day when my great great grandkids are laughing about my silly f*g talk at Buttf**kers 🥴
One of my all-time favorites. "The good times are definitely over" becomes more and more relevant every passing day. At least with this cartoon in mind, I can laugh about it.
can i just say how much i love the into/outro music to this cartoon? the humming just sounds so pleasant, and it's on-theme with the buzzing sounds bugs make. big fan
OH MY GOD!! IT HAS FINALLY HAPPENED!! THE BRETHREN CHAPS UPLOADED MY FAVORITE TOON (of the longer toons!) OF ALL TIME!!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
“Not associated with Bubs: paranormal investigator“ It’s the littlest details that keep me entertained. As well as everything else about these toons. Thanks for the upload!
Man, all the music in this series kicked ass, from the regular background music and title card music to the full lyrical songs. I was so happy when they released it all on Spotify.
This was one of the first toons I saw when my cousin introduced me to this website in the summer of 2007, needless to say I was instantly hooked on Homestar & Strong Bad & crew right away, & here I am over 15 years later still enjoying their antics.
I'm really happy all the old toons are getting HD updates and uploaded on RUclips. Thank you for keeping this wonderful piece of internet history around.
I still use "A doctor, eh? I think I might be one of those." from time to time. Mostly when I have to revive someone in video games when I didn't actually pick medic.
This will always be my favorite non-sbemail toon they ever made. Every line is just perfection. Also 3:37. I've watched this hundreds of times and I never get tired of it.
God these are still so good. I honestly took for granted just how amazing Homestar Runner was when I was a kid. I hope even in the future kids still watch these and enjoy them because they really do feel kind of timeless
3:37 It's especially funny how Strong Bad doesn't even flinch or hesitate when Homestar shows up. Truly an isosceles fish sandwich. I mean a regular. I mean a classic.
This was one of the first HR toons I ever saw, and it has a special place in my heart for that reason. In addition, I would also freak out if I swallowed a bug. If it happened as a child, I WOULD probably think I was gonna die. Also, "I just thought you should know that all your underwears somehow ended up individually priced and labeled in an online auction." "NOBODY BUY THE BLUE ONES!" is one of my favorite exchanges.
Coming up next, on an all-new episode of Caleb Rentpayer.. "Drat, and the search parameters included Boolean operators and everything! Caleb, did you cut the power so I would be outbid on an auctioned set of vintage, gentlemanly-purpose Bleu Wun Select undergarments?" *"I sure did."*
I was just thinking about Boolean search operators a few days ago, and that led me to remember that little exchange between Strong Bad and Strong Sad. I couldn't remember what 'toon that came from, but here it is! So that was serendipitous.
one of those toons i haven’t revisited in a long while and find every line hilarious on a rewatch. from “the good times are over” to bubs burning evidence and saying “this is just fine” down to strong bad saying “aww now my heads not taped to the tv”. plus every instance of caleb rentpayer on the website cracks me up so that was a fun memory to unlock. wonderful stuff rly makes me remember how effortlessly funny these guys are.
A Homestar classic, and a favorite of mine! So many lines from this cartoon have been burned into my brain. "Sir or madam, are you alright? do you need. Medical. Resistance?" "awww it deliciously didn't work" "paranormal investigator. Normal investigator" "Bubs, are you an unethical quack?" "The most quackinest!" "That was a great skillet nap! Thanks Strong Bad!" Strong Bad, the good times are over! I swallowed your computer" "You WHAT?!?" "Homestar Runner, did you shoot Caleb?" "I sure did"
"Grandma's watching her stories" is a phrase I still use, joining many other Homestar references that are in my lexicon that I don't remember where they came from until I rewatch them.
Homestar screaming "The good times are over!" used to be my text tone. Loved having to explain it to literally everyone who heard it.
who was it that would call you w/ that ringtone? your SO or mother?
I'm realizing now that's it's a crime I've never had some kind of Homestar Runner text tone
I'd set that as my text tone or ring tone for my workplace if they ever decide to call me in or something lol.
"The good times are OVERRR~" 😫
I cracked into a simple computer skiing game [Ski Stunt Simulator] and replaced the crash sound with Homestar going "Oops! You broke it!"
In high school, circa 2009, mybest friend and I had to do a "skit" entirely in Spanish for our language class. This 'toon was our performance
Knowing that has made me very happy.
How do you say “McDorkle” in Spanish?
@@lmj2k lmao, being a proper noun, we kept it. though El McDorkle is a funnier answer

"boolean operators"... fat lot of good that did me in college. (I suck at programming).
They'd like uhcxxxz,v😄

“It deliciously didn’t work”
It mangulated my vocabulary most fangoriously.
Ob’m know, do you need medical resistance?
I think about the Dairy Queen dialogue approximately once per day
That’s not the King Of Town, that was Santa! Ask Homestar!
When is Bubs NOT destroying evidence? Or do I need to remind you of Rich?
Nah, no need to remind us of Rich. He can stay where he is!
"pom-pom! santa!" kills me every time
"Boolean operators! Blue AND ones" is a quote that has lived rent free in my head for decades
THE GOOD TIMES ARE OVER.
Same here.
"That was a great skillet nap, thanks strongbad", absolutely flawless
That’s still what I call any short nap
Yup!
This cartoon perfectly encapsulates the humor of Homestar Runner.
I guess I’m a newbie here since October 2023
Truly a classic. Most shows can’t pack this many jokes into 22 minutes, let alone five.
God, I had to double check that what I just watched was 5 minutes long. It felt so much more dense!
Let alone pack it full of jokes that are funny.
Cringe af-
Let alone FUNNY jokes
I think Bug in Mouth is easily the definitive Big Toon.
A classic! My brothers and I to this day still refer to any nap as a "skillet nap."

Me too! Only for ones where you really knock out
This was such a classic as a kid. And a contributing factor to my destroyed vocabulary. “And that’s why come Shakespeare was so awesome.”

"No - that stuff's prescription!" Yeah, I'm definitely going to use that to keep people away from _my_ ice cream in the future, lol.
I always find Homestar’s little happy face when Tucksworth asks if he shot Caleb to be utterly adorable
Homestar is honestly too cute

It’s subtle, but “Normal Investigator” might be one of my favorite gags on the show
It's letter perfect, in my opinion.
When needed, I bet Bubs can be just plain couth.
Came down with an almost catastrophically good-times-overing case of Bug In Mouth on a hike recently, so this is excellent timing.
Something nostalgically painful about Homestar's voice beckoning from 200X that "The good times are over."
This cartoon has one of my favorite Bubs scenes of all time. Just... everything he does.

I like that instead of Strong Bad missing the reveal, it became worse than he imagined. I also like he took it at face value at first too.
You know, for a cartoon I completely forgot about, it sure had a lot of lines that I still repeat to this day in it
