I just heard about all the layoffs at Activision. To anyone who was caught up in that, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry that our industry leaves so many of us having to look for a new job every few years. The whole team here is wishing you well. We hope you find new gigs soon. -James Portnow
The real Warframe VS Destiny: Warframe: Look at them, they come to this place when they know they are not pure. Tenno use the keys, but they are mere trespassers. Only I, Vor, know the true power of the Void. I was cut in half, destroyed, but through its Janus Key, the Void called to me. It brought me here and here I was reborn. We cannot blame these creatures, they are being led by a false prophet, an impostor who knows not the secrets of the Void. Behold the Tenno, come to scavenge and desecrate this sacred realm. My brothers, did I not tell of this day? Did I not prophesize this moment? Now, I will stop them. Now I am changed, reborn through the energy of the Janus Key. Forever bound to the Void. Let it be known, if the Tenno want true salvation, they will lay down their arms, and wait for the baptism of my Janus key. It is time. I will teach these trespassers the redemptive power of my Janus key. They will learn its simple truth. The Tenno are lost, and they will resist. But I, Vor, will cleanse this place of their impurity. Destiny 2: Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip of Freehold. My vote goes to warframe because Vor keeps speaking after killing him again
For generations the Dreaming City housed one of the awoken's most closely guarded secrets. She is known as Riven, Riven of a Thousand Voices, the last known Ahamkara. She has been taken, and her death is your calling.

Nah, Ivara Prime parts will only be in relics gotten from sortie level spy missions, at the same rate you get the normal Ivara parts from normal spy missions :P
Another game that had a similar problem? Battleborn. Did so many things differently (and arguably BETTER) than Overwatch, but its marketing didn't do enough to set itself apart, and it flopped. A real shame tbh, as it was really good at its core concept.
ABSOLUTELY! So many were even comparing the two and stating that overwatch was better, despite the games only sharing 1.) ya shoot stuff 2.) you choose characters
I've played both and at some point burned out in both. But I always end up going back to Warframe. Side note: DE has said that they will be reworking the experience for new players.
Saying and doing is another thing. From what i get the devs of warframe dont like sticking to something for long. Add in the fact the whole system would need to be redesign and the beginning reworked (like i tried playing it but the second i had to pull a fucking wiki out i was done) which can take months if not years. Something their attention span cant handle.
@@adamdobry5517 The issues lie with Introducing the player to all of the different systems. For example they ought to have a very robust mod tutorial given that the modding system is one of the best in any game. They also should get some of wiki writers and build in a wiki esque system into the preexisting Codex framework. Plat prices on frames/weapons in the arsenal should be removed and the blueprint is what should come up first when you click on the weapon or frame.
I appreciate you guys finally do a video mentioning warframe, but you make it sound like warframe was this hapless little indie game that only got by through being Destiny but Free and Better, and that really isn't all that fair. You could have mentioned how warframe's narrative or quests were so intimately worked on or how the developers treated their player base with a baseline of respect and clear communication. Warframe benefitted from Destiny's mistakes, but it didn't rise to success exclusively because of that.
I think previous episodes in the past have done this.. it's been so long I can't remember it clearly but I know they've spoken about warframe here before
Let's not pretend that the game makes much sense to newer players though. I mean, dear god, there exist three different stages of Alad V at the same time. DE has a lot of cleanup to do that gets ignored over new projects. *Looks at own room* Guess I'm one to talk...
@@Rehteal Oh hell no, I agree that warframe has its problems and the new player experience is a hot mess, my point was, they talk about tone a whole bunch, but when they get to comparing Destiny to Warframe narrative, the video spends the lions share of it talking about how destiny dropped the ball, but didn't even bring up Warframe's tone, quests, etc.
Might just be me but I personally thought Cayde's personality and sense of humor were a much welcomed breath of silliness in an otherwise serious story. I love the story for Destiny, and I thought they handled Cayde well. He took things seriously, most definitely, but that doesn't mean he didn't know how to have fun. Go back and watch his death and subsequent funeral scene. Made jokes right up til the moment he expired. Took everything in stride. And his friends remembered him, even vowed vengeance for him, for that reason. I just really like Destiny... not saying you don't have a point, cause you do, I just... really love Destiny.
Aruzhel But in warframe, you build no connection to any characters other than memespeak such as ClemClem or cornyOrdis. Warframe is a great game for what it’s worth, but let’s not get out of hand now.
We're all disappointed to see Blizzard abandon the quality standards that got Warcraft Adventures and Starcraft Ghost cut, but one of the more insidious changes may actually be that they no longer letting WoW and other bigger successes be the tentpoles that hold up the projects that are less individually profitable. This particularly hit Heroes of the Storm: The game is literally a greatest hits of all things Blizzard, and clearly designed with immense care and love. HotS introduced fans to every Blizzard franchise out there and apparently had lots of success in pushing Blizzard's other games to them. For the old Blizzard, this would have been a success, much like Google is fine with secondary products not being profitable in their own right. Instead the game got heavily cut out of nowhere since the game wasn't individually converting well (incidentally after a lootbox-centric redesign, where players no longer had a way to purchase the skins they wanted and stopped spending). Personally I also thought the Warcraft movie was amazing and captured the Warcraft feel perfectly. I think old Blizzard might have powered through and seen if the sequels would make the movies successful. With Activision I think there's basically zero chance they'll try anything like that, when the first movie wasn't an outstanding commercial success.
There is no Blizzard. Only Zuul.... I mean Activision. With the amount of downsizing going on at the two, which side of this combo do you think is getting hit the hardest? It is even worse now what Mike Morhaime is gone.
“Remember, dream of not who you are, but who you want to be.” best damn quote ever OK IF ANYONE TYPES A SPOILER FOR THE SECOND DREAM, OR THE WAR WITHIN I WILL END YOU
ugg i saw a comment where someone basicaly said "the warframes are not (insert thing youtuber thought they were) they are (literally the spoiler your not supposed to spoil)" with no spoiler warning or anything
"or that warframe doesn't have problems. I'm looking at you, new player experience" Yaa I know that feeling, I mostly used friend help, wiki and trying put features piece by piece to learn the game mechanics. Atleast the warframe devs are trying and warframe has a lot of different and usually deep mechanics that every player will have their own importsnt features so it's hard to guide people at the start.
I'll have to come back with my Copy-Pastes, but the lack of focus on New Player experience is something we've been screaming at DE since just shortly after "Open Beta". The fundamentals are not that hard, DE just doesn't want to do the work in tooling the "Tutorials" so they can be easily updated as systems get added or changed. The overall look at what needs to be in said tutorials *is not hard*. The biggest hole is an explanation of the Modding system and Enemy resistances. Outside of radical rebuild of the current damage system and formulation, the long standing advice for Weapon modding remains the same as it has for almost 4 years. "Base" damage mods first, Multishot second, Elemental (in combinations that work against enemy weaknesses). The important part of the Modding system is setting up your weapons to kill enemies quickly, and to set up your Warframe to not die. There is also no clear connection between Warframe/Weapon Ranks and Enemy Level (Mod Cap used on damage and survival mods ~= Enemy Level , as rough guide). Everything else beyond that is min-maxing and fiddling with complexities of the system. The second hole is an in-game Farming aid. While you can look up in the Codex where to find Redirection mods, there is no good Hand-holding way to track that. Same goes for solar system level crafting resources which are buried one level down in the Navigation UI. And don't get me started on Fish. This is fundamentally an information organization problem, and I have *never* really liked what has been done by folks DE has hired on as UI/UX leads in this area. After that it's about exposing other systems in a timely and appropriate manner. Not having a stable Tenno Relay at Earth on all Platforms really hurts. The tutorial on Scanning comes well after the Junction requirement to scan objects. Warframe building is 2 planets too far out. And so on. The vast majority of systems new players will touch are now Stable, and have been for years. DE just refuses to do the work of converting what the community has done into in-game tutorials.
Its always a challenge to chose between complexity and accessibility. Right now, the mod system is by FAR the thing that offset the most people. But... without it the game would be rather flat, while mods allow for many serious or goofy experiments to be made with all equipment. But DE have talked recently about a cinematic quest for the game start, the reworking of the auto mod system, and better tutorials overall.
It was so much easier to travel and understand the universe, and where to go before they fucked up the pc version forcing it to look like the latter consol iteration.
Oh absolutely. I recommend sticking with it through the first few missions because the game is fun to experience when you get a grip on it. But that tutorial is nonexistent and you have no idea what you’ll enjoy playing before you get further in.
Looking at multiple guides IS an requierment (IT IS not but IT feels like because the game kinda tosses you in a world but its much better to grind for hours than pay and wait WEEKS to get your money back(mostly) AND Getting riped off because you pay you get and thats everything but when you grind youre basicly making a Journey to get that one piece of gear or warframe (the playable characters)) Hope you read IT all because People tend to chicken out on few lines, Have a nice week Mr/Mrs reader. :)
Look into Brozime, he's a vet that replays the NPX every year or so, and has clans open to new people and focused on helping them, I believe. Where do you play?
The Warframe community refers to the game as a "wiki game" for a reason. I advise looking up a tutorial. Alternatively, go to the sunreddit and ask (WARNING: The subreddit doesn't always mark spoilers)
Okay but the thing about Cayde telling the story in the bar, Cayde was supposed to be the comedic relief. Just like how ordis is comedic relief a lot of times in Warframe
For me, Warframe is always going to surpass Destiny 2. Why? Because the developers of Warframe are putting so much love into the game they are always putting more content and putting more upgrades in general. Lets be real. Tell me just ONE bad update
Been playing Warframe since it was barely two months old and due to the nature of its success played through a segment no longer available: watching it grow. Levels, weapons, characters, lore, community. Saw it go from barely anything to the expansive thing it is today, it really was a wonder to behold. And oddly enough I got into warfame because I was getting tired of the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, but wanted something _like_ it. And now we have Anthem, trying to get in on that Warframe market. Things have come full circle, hehe.
funny enough, in the beginning warframe also suffered from similar problems to what they talked about Destiny. they just weren't afraid of experimenting and changing until they could find a good sweet spot. also they heard the community and did things they wanted.
@@danilooliveira6580 Yeah I guess it did, but they cleverly made the story a mystery - you suffer from amnesia and are trying to remember. Thus each added quest = new memory. Content and lore added with context. It was like a TV show and the Second Dream quest was a surprisingly good payoff. But like you said they really listened to feedback and changed stuff weekly so that let you know they're working on it. When I joined they had the old mod system that was this weird skill tree, nobody used it. Then they introduced the mod cards shortly after, it was a real change and improvement.
@@danilooliveira6580 So what they seem to be doing much more now that they're finally separating from Activision. I can't wait to see the full lifetime of both. I dread the possibility of an ending for either, as unrealistic as both outcomes seem.
A clear and analytical video on the differences that sort of puzzled me. A welcome change from the thumbnails of clickbait rage I see all over the internet. A most concise explanation EC team.
Honestly, the explanation was "concise" because it really only mentioned one or two of the many factors. It's a lot more complicated than they make it out to be, and they focused exclusively on how Destiny's marketing affected Warframe without mention of how Warframe itself was starting to build a hype snowball of its own with Plains of Eidolon and such. Nothing wrong with that of course; the video wasn't about those other things. A full outline of the differences between the two wasn't the goal.
i was waiting for them to show destiny as a morphed version of the green game mascot, to kinda round off the reference and allude to how the game turned out weird compared to what it started as.
Watching Warframe grow over the years have been an emotional trip. It is an awesome game, 6k hours of Gameplay and I'm still not done. It isn't a perfect game, but the fact that DE is so involved in the development of their game and managed to create a toxicity-free (well, at least 90% free) community helps a lot. Also, Loki Master Race :3
Lokime...I like that they do care n listen to there community...it’s speaks volumes about what the game means to the community...now if they can fix that damn...CHAT MODERATOR FIASCO...we’ll all b 😄
tbh warframe dropped ball with 3 updates but they acknoledged that. Also both games have similar playerbase so no. They kinda tied but still both game still do fine
Warframe never best destiny and never will lmao, Warframe at is very peak couldn’t touch Destiny at its lowest point in terms of player count. Destiny has at least 10 times the playerbase and that’s probably being generous.
Warframe's tone hooked me on it. It has such a well-unified feel and look, and the world it presents is *so strange*. Reminded me of when I was a kid and first picked up WH40k and got lost in the world it gave a glimpse of
Its a little weird. but i see it. its really more about tone and lore. destiny looked like a cool setting where super-powered space heroes used traditional weapons and "space magic" to fight a massive evil alien threat. the setting and lore that looked like destiny was going to do kind of fizzled. the grimories not even being in the game, was boneheaded, and warframe, while its lore is not exactly harland ellison, gives you worldbuilding, enemies and motivations that support the setting. Now the games do not play in a particularly similar way, warframe is a 3rd person game with absurdly fast traversal tools and a fairly robust melee combat system, where destiny is first person, much more constrained in movement, and while melee is a part of the game, is really gun-centric. they finally got swords and such after a while, but given how much the lightsaber is embedded in the public consciousness for space operas, warframe balances melee with ranged combat and superpowers. heck, destiny swords still use ammunition. i get that they do a lot of damage and needed some limits...but swords require AMMO!? So they are mechanically pretty different, just as most fantasy games are going to see comparisons to the witcher and tes series, destiny was one of the biggest after the mass effect series concluded to try and take the space opera crown, so thats where i see it. anthem is going to pop up too...and hoenstly, I think anthem might actually drive warframe's numbers up even further.
As a player of both, I don't see why people try to compare the two so much. Well, other than the early D2 population hemorrhaging into wf, but that was a long ass time ago, and even then they all knew they were two different beasts.
@@Zevox144 They are. I personally never place tps and fps in the same categories ever. Although, I haven't played warframe in a very long time, it might be fps now. Or was it always fps? Shit I can't remember
Well now Anthem is doing the same they're basically saying: "look space ninja looters games are great, but ours is buggy but look over there a much better game but free"
The funny thing is that the F2P POE is focused on different players. POE learning curve is horrible unlike D3. But the Diablo immortal PR fiasco (Activision pushing Blizzard for a new business model) caused POE to surpass its record of connected players simultaneously. P.S. POE is great. Try it if you like old ARPGs.
Honestly, Destiny 2 never bled out its players as much as Waframe has been. Even in its bad states it still had twice as many active players on all platforms and the current state of Warframe plus the new war delay and Duviri Paradox being pushed back yet again is gonna bleed even more players from warframe. They just keep working on new stuff instead of properly fixing the old buggy content they released in revent two years.
My money's on more creative flexibility on what they want to do, but at the cost of Bungie being inexperienced at self-publishing causing them to be thrown in at the deep end.

@@liFE-gt6or the bungie name alone is what sold destiny mostly. If DE was more well known, they would have gained even more players. Warframe has much better quality in most cases tbh. Constant updates, new stuff, tons of customization (not crappy shaders), better movement, tons of different modes, all its missing is decent PVP. (I would also say raids, but those are coming back)
Bungie made the best expansion for D2 when they made forsaken, it helped revive part of its player base and it was a really good campaign, I love the endgame and the grind for everything, the people who like D2 are people who enjoy grinding and working together as a fireteam. So I hope Destiny can return to its formal glory eventually.

Because he was not the only comic relief. He was always like they and many dark stories have a character that react to impeding doom with jokes, because it is after all a very human thing to do and it does not really hurt the experience unless it is done in a way no sane person would be able to joke around. But Destiny does not know where and how to place their humor to the point of having most of the cast behave like a comic relief in a situation that was polar opposite to it. And the worse is that the game expects players to take the story seriously while also having their characters forcebreak that very concept at every turn.
@@anthjmauro thank you. If it was just cayde it would've been fine. It's why they killed him in the expansion. They wanted to hunker down on a serious tone for the series going forward.
Okay but, and here me out, *Multiple games can existe within the same genre, especially since destiny and warframe's gameplay is very different (within the confines of them both being shooters)*
True, even more that Warframe is a third person action game instead of D2 first person shooter. While WF has guns or D2 has swords the experience is quite different.
It's not that they can't exist but they are competitors, the players that like one game could probably also play the other. It's a good thing for consumers tho, so developers can push these games to better versions of it

I'm a more literal example of this. A few years ago, I got a desktop and decided to try a free sci-fi shooter. I downloaded Destiny 2, which proceeded to crash during its opening cutscene. (My graphics card wasn't very impressive, but still.) Warframe didn't. So now I'm a permanent Warframe player. I could probably get Destiny working now (I've improved the graphics card), but all my investment and knowledge are on Warframe.
Upside of Warframe: Look at all of these awesome Frames that offer soooo many different playstyles and things to work towards at any one time, Prime Frames, Prime and Normal weapons, Clans, events, all sorts of cool stuff always being opened up or brought back all the time. Downside of Warframe: They *really* need to work out a better Reputation system for newer players. I was running up against it a bit when Plains came out, but I was MR 14 so my daily Limit was 14,000 reputation, not terrible. New players get shafted though at MR1 and a 1k limit. Maybe start everyone off at 15K or something, I dunno.
@@extremelydeadlyfryingpan This would be good and all if the plains weren't advertised towards new potential players "look we have open world now, you people like this shit right?"
Sooooo.....I disagree vehemently with your "Cayde 6 is not a serious character" theory. Hard stop. He's funny, yes. He's also integral to the story (see ALL of Foresaken), arguably the most relatable, and superbly well acted. Also, watch some of the lore videos by MyNameisByf.
@@HYBRIDZHQ It's that they had to wait 6 fucking years to do it. Not that they never did it. And then they killed him. I want to see Shaxx quaking as he's reminded of Ikora in her crucible days while she goes postal damn it.
Publishers are consistantly screwing over games and game devs, its sad. Possibly a new video Idea on the harm vs the good that publishers have inacted on AAA gaming in recent years? Sounds interesting and needed with how it's hurting games, especially games that could he amazing, but monetization stratagies and other things decided by publishers that hamper the games fun, for an example. Black ops 4. It was passable if not good but then they released their 5$ for a crappy resolution smiley face reticle that was in black ops 1.... seriously.... it makes me sad :(
The main pro of publishers was... WAS that it reduced risk ok the developer should the game fail. But now as we see jobs being slashed during successful years the main pro has been widdled down to just, "more money for better graphics".
The independent market was not viewed seriously before. Some little thing on the side and not much more. But then kickstarter appeared and one of the proposed games, star citizen, which publishers had refused to invest in like so many ambitious projects back in the day, blew out of proportion and with it the entire independent market was now qualified to not only be a way to make bigger games, but better games free of the release schedules and publisher demands for marketing. And because this market lives and dies on the quality of the game and its community, the devs can properly care and communicate with their playerbase without a big entity barking at their ear because the bananas are not coming fast enough
Somehow Destiny is more confusing for me than Warframe, and I started playing them at the same time And yeah, in Warframe they added content, but in the Destiny they removed content, unforgivable

Blizzard and Activision are one entity. They literally can't be separated any more - the companies that were Blizzard and were Activision aren't joined at the hip, they're fully spliced, and a lot of old talent has left and new talent has joined that has only ever known the combined company. You cannot get back the Blizzard of the 90s.
love how now the roles are kinda reversed, destiny is one of the biggest games in the market rn and warframe s population is steadily declining. (this is coming from someone who plays both)
Ehhhhh. I don't really know. I got dragged into Warframe for a time, but I realized it has a pretty awful gameplay loop. Of the last 100 hours or so I've put in. I've literally just ran the same mission. Cause there is no reason to do anything else. They seem to straight up refuse to add more shotguns. It's like 1 shotgun a year. And none of the new Warframe interest me. So I just log in. Level my shotguns. Forma them. Repeat. Destiny has different gear that all feels good to use that requires you to play all it's content to acquire. Pvp, strikes, raids, the forges, and Gambit. But you don't feel like you are getting fucked by rng. Warframe tho. Thinking for a second you might be interested in trying the new Warframe? Buckle up for a 60 hour ride to get 1 peice of content. After 800 hours in Warframe. Gonna be honest. I don't think it's a very good game. It just is addicting. But that doesn't equate to a good game.
cannonfodder343 People wanted to assume it means a 10 year game because it sounds funnier. I was never confused about it. From the get-go, it was starkly clear to me that they said the game series had a ten year plan for it. Nowhere did they ever imply they would wait until 2024 to make Destiny 2.
Indeed, I left destiny since they ditched every improvement from the first game in order to make a sequel more sellable at a short period of time. But I never though that their "10 years plan" was about D1 only, I always knew it was about multiple sequels, maybe 4, maybe 5 Destiny sequels, not just a single game. People who though that are the same people criticizing and comparing Anthem to Destiny right now without looking at the big picture
I feel like D2 is currently in a good spot with its identity. And by currently, I mean in the past few months. Forsaken was a nice and meaty expansion, and then the annual pass content feels substantive enough given the price. I’ve played MMOs and I just can’t do a subscription payment. It’s too much money, even if the content is great, and I get put in the mindset to get my money’s worth, rather than enjoying the game at my pace. Destiny 2 if they keep up the pace with a $40 large expansion like forsaken and a $35 annual pass to give content between large expansions feels like a great middle ground for me, and I hope they continue to improve that model. That’s essentially $75 a year and that’s much easier to stomach IMO
Careful, we're drifting closer to acknowledging that the titanic, obscene excesses of """"""""""AAA"""""""""" game publishers are not an immutable law of nature, a la 'games just cost more to make now', and instead that they're human decisions undertaken by folks working at big game companies. And thus can, and in many cases, should be changed.
To be fair though, the story is confusing until the quest "Natah". After that, your soul is bond to Warframe because every quest that comes right after will suck you in like the void itself. And trust me. I am talking of experience. Also, I realized the beginning story and bleh is just there to give the system and the story a depth and the it's there for the player to learn to develop himself etc. so it's all well thought through. It has a perfect part of humor and fun but also a very, very heavy story that is gonna blow your mind and pull you with full power through the game. And you won't even get a scratch nor bother because the game experience is amazing! Just try it out, it's the mother of all f2p and really deserves its good name. Even a better if you ask me.
I never really get the criticism of warframes new player experience. Everywhere I hear, that it is so overwhelming an doesn't explain shit. That is exactly why the game hooked me. A year ago I had no idea what I got myselve into and the sight of so many mechanics and systems told me I could have hours of fun trying to understand the systems and even more time to master them. You immediately see that this game can be played for years.
In your perspective, sure, and you not wrong either, but the more common way of looking at it, is that Players tend to get overwhelmed by the shear amount of shit in front them and will typically get quit because of it. That's not to say it's bad to have that much content readily available, but typically peoples' brains tend to shut down if that receive too much information at once, and will opt towards not doing anything in response to it. In Short: Information Paralysis
To an extent, I feel the same, but I feel people have gotten quite used to hand holding and when it's suddenly taken away (even when it's what we've asked for) it could be quite jarring. It could at least do with some explaining, like at least display the tutorial screens before allowing you to interact with modules, then going on with how they have it. Or outright say you can fucking trade plat but not the free stuff.
Same, I was thrilled (in a good way) with how much stuff you gotta learn in the beginning and how much there is to explore. It made me feel the same way I felt about games like Fallout2, Baldur's Gate and other old stuff where you can't wait to jump into the thick of it. I don't know what gamers these days want: a game that holds your hand and tells you "now push this button and hit the enemy on that spot" until you're MR 25? Or pats you on the head for every sneeze, like Candy Crush?
Whooo! This is especially true today. Warframe is still going strong but Destiny...... well let's just say there's now a worry that there may not be a Destiny anymore. EDIT: I can't believe this aged as well as it has. Destiny is basically on its last legs while Warframe continues to thrive and has seen a large influx of new players many of which are coming from Destiny. Destiny just announced that it's story and expansions are basically over while Warframe just launched one of its most beloved expansions to date that has produced so many possibilities going forward. We continue to get new Warframes, weapons, upgrade and customization options, we now have cross save and cross play options, Steel Path is basically a New Game+ mode, Duviri is a rogue like that cleverly ties into the main story in a cool way, and we now have Titanfall style mechs. Warframe just keeps getting better and Destiny keeps wallowing further.
I've played both. Warframe has real-world time gated items. And yes, I know you can learn the market to make platinum to speed that up, but that's why I dropped TF2 - I'm here to play a game, not play a stock market.
People outside warframe: end game of this game is grind to be best Insade: i will grind to bouild my dream house and fasion my warframe so enemy have heart attack when they see how cool it look.
I just heard about all the layoffs at Activision. To anyone who was caught up in that, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry that our industry leaves so many of us having to look for a new job every few years. The whole team here is wishing you well. We hope you find new gigs soon.

The real Warframe VS Destiny:
Warframe:
Look at them, they come to this place when they know they are not pure.

Go back and watch his death and subsequent funeral scene. Made jokes right up til the moment he expired. Took everything in stride. And his friends remembered him, even vowed vengeance for him, for that reason.

@@BrownRicePaddy 😂😂😂 omg this is soo true
Could you talk about the Activision/Blizzard dynamic and what it means for both companies?
+
Pretty sure you can probably sum it up the same way as BioWare and EA. No shared vision or Unity in Purpose.
+

Proof that you don't have to nickel and dime gamers in order to sell copies or make a lot of money. A quality product sells itself.
"or that warframe doesn't have problems. I'm looking at you, new player experience"
Yaa I know that feeling, I mostly used friend help, wiki and trying put features piece by piece to learn the game mechanics.
LionK72 they said that they’re tackling that massive problem and I do hope that it gets much better
Ditto. The early hours of Warframe are rough on your own. Good thing the community is (typically) happy to help and guide.
"we're gonna farm ivara prime blueprints" that aged well
As someone who just recently tried to get into warframe, the line about it's new player experience sucking really rung true to me.

@@danilooliveira6580 When they scrapped that core system...

A most concise explanation EC team.
one of my favorites consistently for that reason.
The people who made warframe knew what they wanted for years they had passion and no one telling them how to make a lottery machine
Even though it was only on screen for less than a second and drawn in a silly style, that Junji ito reference still creeped me out a bit...

Junji Ito references are inherently unsettling. I have never seen one that left me cold - because they just keep popping up where I least expect them.
Watching Warframe grow over the years have been an emotional trip. It is an awesome game, 6k hours of Gameplay and I'm still not done. The moment I saw that I went "no no no no no no no no"
That like button it is like it was made just for me
Honestly as a player of war-frame- I didnt even know Destiny was supposed to be its direct competitor.

Exactly, came to the comment section expecting such a comment. I must say I was right
Honestly, Destiny 2 never bled out its players as much as Waframe has been.

So how did you feel now? With new war release and the subsequent release post new war?
This video got recommended to me just now, all I can say is W for Warframe and L for Destiny 2
Hopefully the Bungie/Activision split yields positive results
My money's on more creative flexibility on what they want to do, but at the cost of Bungie being inexperienced at self-publishing causing them to be thrown in at the deep end.
Nahhhhhhhh. Bungie couldn't meet the content deadlines THEY set. THEY had to renegotiate twice. THEY came to Activision with Eververse.

Go on reddit and search up videos of early " destiny developer insight" or "destiny ride along "videos on destiny. This is a perfect example of bungie's true intentions in 2011/2012
The talked about ALL expansions being free.
The reason why dlc became payed was because of the main story writer leaving bungie due to activision wanting to cut content and various other things.
Once he left. Bungie had to rehash the WHOLE story, this is proven by us seeing the prince uldren in ingame cutscenes.
When he left activision cut up all content into dlc.
Some fun facts:
Taken king was originally the sequel to destiny
Rise of iron was never as post to be a thing, it was made to delay destiny 2 a year.
Destiny 2 was forced to come out in 2017, if a destiny hame didnt come out that year activision would take a majority of bungie's stock.
Bungie was forced ( technicaly yes and no ) to make loot boxes be a vanity focus in d2, activision made a monthly income deadline bungie had to reach.
The only logical choice was lootboxes.

Cayde 6 was a bad example. Him being a comic relief never shattered the whole tone of the story/lore
Yea he's always been a comic relief
Yep. The problem was when the narrative team made everyone a comic relief character, and the story fell on its face as a result.

Who are you talking to and what led you to believe that that wasnt the case?
It's not that they can't exist but they are competitors, the players that like one game could probably also play the other. It's a good thing for consumers tho, so developers can push these games to better versions of it
@@poohlyash1638 Because everybody on the internet seem to keep arguing about which is better when it's like trying to compare the ride of a bicycle and a Lamborghini.
they can, but its not convenient. that fact is that destiny and warframe are games that do the same thing. they might play a bit differently but not so different that it is worth playing both at the same time. they are similar enough to be direct competitors. trying to attract the same crowd that doesn't need both. their gameplay is simply to similar
I'm a more literal example of this. A few years ago, I got a desktop and decided to try a free sci-fi shooter.
I downloaded Destiny 2, which proceeded to crash during its opening cutscene. (My graphics card wasn't very impressive, but still.)
Warframe didn't.
Nah you can go up in mastery quite fast. Also an MR6 doesnt really need t5 plains items for the content their doing generally.

Destiny 1 was never meant to last 10 years. The destiny FRANCHISE was.
You say that now, but at the time they tossed that catchphrase around, nobody knew what they meant.
cannonfodder343 People wanted to assume it means a 10 year game because it sounds funnier. I was never confused about it. From the get-go, it was starkly clear to me that they said the game series had a ten year plan for it. Nowhere did they ever imply they would wait until 2024 to make Destiny 2.
that was not what they sold it as. everyone back then thought it meant destiny 1 would be like WOW
It was clearly stated that Destiny would be a 10 year plan in Year 1 just like the Halo series. Y'all can go back on the videos
Well, it’s good to know a huge steps been taken since witch queen. It’s nice to see all those improvements
It all comes tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling doooown
Just so you know, warframe is barely an mmo and 100% free to play... subscriptions don't even exist
@@sleepyostrichthing3599 Why not both? INFINITE CONTENT DROUGHTS!
More like p2w, you actually gotta earn your weapons in destiny while becoming proficient enough to use it in the pvp
Warframe players: *belligerent and numerous* we are everywhere, and we will welcome you with open arms
Not in the state its in now tho
2:35 Loved the Futurama reference. 😄
I've played both. Warframe has real-world time gated items. And yes, I know you can learn the market to make platinum to speed that up, but that's why I dropped TF2 - I'm here to play a game, not play a stock market.
