Inner Suffering and Torment that just goes on and on and on for Trillions and Trillions and Trillions of years is Morally Absurd. After 900 Billion Trillion Years you would not have even scratched the surface of the suffering and torments that were still yet awaiting you. Subjecting a person to such an horrific nightmare is NOT an expression of deep love but rather of the most extreme cruelty.
You can be the best human being doing good all you life, but as long as you don't believe, then eternal fire is awaiting,...yeah that makes alot of sense
I think unlike what traditionalists claim, the Bible is extremely layered and complex on this subject matter. Yes Jesus clearly taught wrong from right and warned of punishment for choosing wrong. Now it definitely is above my pay grade to know anything about where people end up in eternity, but I think there is strong evidence throughout the Bible to suggest that Jesus was using imagery from the time and culture he was in to make a point that people can picture, but was talking about very metaphysical concepts when describing hell. Basically God - and Jesus - is love, and choosing Jesus means choosing love. Rejecting Jesus means choosing hate and evil. And no clear thinking person would choose the latter, if they do something has gone very wrong in their brains, be it nature or nurture. So does that mean that everyone eventually ends up in heaven and no one ends up in hell? I honestly do not know, I can see arguments against this belief. But 1) it would align much better with the idea of an all-loving God and 2) it logistically still makes more sense than the evangelicals 'rules' of who goes to heaven and hell which contradict themselves at every step.
before you get to ethics, hells existence needs to be ascertained 1st, unless its a purely hypothetical question. in that case then according to the bible no its purely abuse. you can rape, murder and do absolutely anything and still get into heaven as long as you ask foregiveness, afaik the ONLY thing that wont be forgiven is a lack of faith. thats horrific morally imo
@@johnfrank7144 yes it is true. People believe things that aren't true all the time. Religion being the prime example. It is indeed self delusion. you can choose to believe whatever you like and you can even convince yourself nonsense is true via several methods. That's why we have creationists and flat earthers etc. Whether it's true or not is irrelevant to belief itself

The “you are going to hell” argument is not ethical for several reasons. Personally I don’t believe in the concept so let’s leave it out. First, who deserves it and why? According to the Bible, sinners which includes everyone but if you repent then you are “saved”. Everyone is judged and condemned before they become into existence and still sinful.
Hell is waiting for sinners who separate themselves from god. We carry and commit sins which continually and perpetually separates sinners from god so hell awaits them. However, if we open up to god and do a little dance for him so we get into heaven. This principle/paradigm overlooks and marginalized everyone despite the sin even though religion itself separates sins into different categories- mortal and the other kind. It’s how a murdered might get into heaven but a shoplifter would get sent to hell.
@@Albertanator So, just by being born, I'm born guilty of a crime deserving of eternal torture? I dunno. Doesn't sound like love to me. I love my kids and there is NOTHING they could do that would make me feel like they deserve to be locked in my basement and tortured for eternity. And god will do this to me for the crime of not loving him enough or not loving him the right way.

When I was a kid, I thought even Satan didn't deserve eternal hellfire. I felt so bad for him. I'm glad I grew out of religion

Hell is a flawed concept.
Infinite torture for finite crimes.
That is the wrong way of looking at it...is the rejection of the Infinite God that causes the infinite penalty.....
