  • My review/thoughts/meditations/musings on Taito's 1982 arcade game, Pirate Pete, as provided by Hamster as part of their Arcade Archives line. Re-uploaded due to a copyright claim on the original vid. Took the opportunity to tighten the edit.

I love Arcade Archives and found Pirate Pete to be a cool way to see some old school arcade gaming. I have never been able to get past loop 2 though lol.

I love Hamster's Arcade Archives line. As you say, it's a brilliant way of experiencing early arcade games. It's how I came across Pirate Pete. I got to the start of loop 4 after shall we say a little while. Loop 1 is not too bad difficulty-wise, and lures you into a false sense of security that maybe the game won't be that difficult 😂

This looks like a re-skin of Jungle Hunt, aka Jungle King.

I didn't know this game. Very interesting. It´s of the old school.

I didn't know about this game either to be honest. Only saw it on the Switch as part of the Arcade Archives line. Has those mid-80s blocky arcade graphics I love so much. Well worth playing.
