Hi Robert, a little tricky question, but could you point me in the right direction for a scantool that works with 96-00 Volvo, I have purchased a very modern XTool D8 BT scantool, wonderful, but it cannot correctly identify my Volvo by auto identification or VIN identification, I know the engine and the engine code in it, but it seems to be picking an engine from P2 platform namely B5244T3 not the B5244T, and would cause an anti theft when I choose auto identification, I will keep the scantool for other cars, but for my Volvo I want something solid that will work with it, by the way you are doing an absolutely amazing job and show the utmost love for Volvo's, keep it up.
For 96-1998 You are looking for Vol-Fcr. 1.3.6 (if I remember correctly) is easily available online. The newer, better version 1.7 (if I remember correctly) was not/was not widely cracked and You will find it online easily (but uncracked). BUT, if You find the right person on some forum they might share it. On other note, those new "know-it-all" scan tools are pieces of crap in my opinion. If something is "for everything", then it must not be good for "one thing". For 1999- Volvos You want Vida Dice.
i use a cheap 35$ cad "motopower" scanner for my '00 v70 with the same engine it works fine for the price and reads all the codes but sometimes prevents to car from starting for a bit
Hey Robert your videos are a real life saver since I bought my first volvo (and first car). I'm thinking of manual swapping my aging 4 speed in my 2000 v70xc awd. Is this even possible and if so how hard is it to do and to find a manual transmission that fits? Thanks
Saw the coolant bottle at 5:26, was that what was used to refill after the heater core fix? Autozone universal extended life coolant, a good choice. Hopefully you can do Lemonade with the Peak Global Lifetime soon. She deserves to be fully Globalized.
I enjoyed watching it. I bought that IPD rear hatch kit last year, and it's great/easy to install and a year later with no problems. Robert, I like the look of your OBDII scanner. Which one is it? I'm going to buy one. :>)

@@CalebPulley read my comment. I already answered that question

'96 to '00 Vehicles are P80. The '99+ vehicles need VIDA or a level 2 scan tool to help you get proper codes.

hard to find manual awd transmission set-ups. A few ways to do it.

Great videos
That’s a Volvo dealer VST. Rare as hens teeth, and super expensive.
@@jimmiles33 Yes/Thanks, I know. I was thinking of the one Robert was using in this video. Any ideas?? :>)
I misread your reply. Is Robert using the dealer VST??
Yes.
Creeping up on done - there, anyway
Yes 💪🏾
