This is the first Jose video I have watched, but it will not be the last. Fascinating, instructive, inspiring. I recently started working in oil both in studio and en plein air after using watercolor and acrylic for a long time. I am in love with oil! I lived in Europe a long time and rarely had time to do art, now I wish I had done tons of it because there is nothing like Europe for these idyllic scenes in which to work. Thank you for the inspiration.
Agree with all the other comments. I love the way you build up color and texture to make the buildings & bridge look weathered and real. The water reflections in this one is very well done. Thanks so much for sharing your painting process!!!
Very interesting and inspiring videos Jose.. I used to paint outdoors a lot when I was young, but haven't done it for a long. Your videos are so inspiring that I am planning to start it again. Please make some videos on materials and equipments also. Many thanks. Sharad.
Thank you Grant. I tried to do a search about the bridge. I have not found anything. You can have a better view with this link : www.google.fr/maps/@48.865376,5.163569,3a,75y,21.09h,87.52t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sDBYp5o_-ASmSGPVgtMbNBg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Hello, tell me, what do you use as a diluent for paints?
Hello Oleg, José uses "White Spirit". I think it is a French brand. I found this on wiki :
solvent (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_spirit)
Did you have to scrape or sand off some paint from the old canvas?
Nothing. There was no varnish.
Could you please tell me which village this magnificent painting is in. Merci.
Sorry Raymond, I forgot the name. I will ask José. Were in the department of "Hautes Marnes" or "Meuse"
Thank you, no problem I have discovered it by a bit of google streetview detective work, it is "Les Hauts De Chee"
