Dear Chief Elimination Officer: Before I got the Holey Hiker Backpacking Bidet, I didn't know squat. Out of ignorance, I'd clung to my dead-tree toilet paper habit and wax-on/wax-off wiping ways. Since flushing these bad routines, I've lightened my load and ceased being a touchy-feely bum. Packing out my TP from remote wilderness areas? Not anymore. And...the Holey Hiker Backpacking Bidet doubles as a trail shower for that whole-body fresh feeling. A toast to your innovation, Bottoms Up!
Thanks for your informative videos it was a game changer for me on my 2 month trip as a woman to spray your hoeha after a pee was so nice! And yes I also used it as a shower and to clean a wound from my horse!
So glad to see you posting again! You hands down have the best backpacking bidet on the market in my opinion. Always happy to support you and your business. Keep up the great work!
I bought one of these to try out and I've been using it for the past 3 months. I can highly recommend. It fits snugly enough into the top of a smart water bottle that it doesn't pop out even when I'm squeezing the bottle, yet it's easy to pop out to refill (you use a different angle of pressure to remove it from the bottle). The flow is good. You do have to squeeze the bottle a bit to get enough psi, in my opinion, but that's not a problem. The multiple holes make for a good "cleaning pattern" so to speak, and uses less than a full bottle of water to do the job (though your mileage may vary.) The bidet is lightweight and very easy to add into a poop kit or ditty bag. In fact, I just ordered a few more to add to various kits. Thanks, Paul, for the obvious effort and R&D you've put into this device.
Holey Hiker: just ordered two of your bidets. We have two toilet bidets at the house and I can’t live without them. I have tried multiple travel bidets. The most expensive was $89.00. It worked pretty good until the little magnet kept falling out and then it was gone. The seller never would return my emails so I no longer use theirs. So the jury is out but once I get yours, I will let you know how it goes. I am praying for a huge success. Also love the fact that you are US made. Good to hear. Had a person in the UK demand a refund because they said there were no bottles that could fit :) Tried to explain how not a single person on the other side of the pond had every had a problem but they were pretty persistent! @@PaultheBackpacker That's weird. I've actually found loads of really good bottles that fit perfectly. I'll do a list for you of ready available bottles that I've found and use all the time. I've recently brought a protein like juice drink from my local Asda store ( Walmart owned I think ) , a nice curved shaped bottle that squeezes nicely, your Bidet fits perfectly. Funny really, as I'm going to order a couple more from you for the kids. I will though, give me a couple of weeks, give you a list of loads of bottles.
LOL Love it! We have a seat type bidet at home and LOVE IT. Got to get one for my daughter for her long solo camping trips. I could see dishes as well, shower, good.
Your previous 3D printer model failed last year half way on my A.T. thru hike. It seemed to have delaminated or cracked so it would no longer stay tight in the bottle. I loved it so I was very disappointed, mainly because I had to get a competitor bidet from Amazon that used way too much water. So, I love that you have improved it and great to see it available. Hello to grown-up conversation! Paul, you are doing a great service. However, in my experience, toilet paper is still required. The difference is that a roll can last much longer. And if SHTF happens, one might have to resort to the bidet and a washable hand towel. I came across a competitors product during the Great Covid Toilet paper stampede! Covid got me thinking about alternatives. I discovered a a new world. Purchased a portable bidet which has one flaw, it relies on electricity. The competition is alot like yours and like yours, requires no electricity. Did not think anyone would be interested in "improving" the hand controlled Bidet, but kudos to you. Hope all your products sell.

Is the left handed one actually different from the right handed one or is that just a joke? I'm a mixture of left & right handed. Not sure which one I would need if they are actually different.
Not to be crude, by with my luck I'd end up shooting that little thing right at my own rear end. It would dislodge while trying to use it and I'd topple over forward. I have a shower head that you screw onto a bottle that I use as an outdoor shower. I screw it onto an oversized dish soap bottle. It gives enough water to have a fairly thorough shower.
Just learning about the concept in hiking but since I came back from Asia I always wanted to install a "jet" in my toilets. Just make so much more sense... However I guess you carry more soap hiking right?
Pardon the potentially ignorant question; but why use an internal friction o-ring fit versus just a screw on device with otherwise the same design and holes? Anyone and everyone I go out with all use the Smart Water bottles, as do I, and most other bottles all use the same threads it seems. I imagine I’m missing a thought process here, so if that was somewhere in the video and I missed it then apologies.
Thread size changes. Local vs international, expensive vs cheap water bottle, etc Edit: you are totally correct for most cases. There is an industry standard for thread sizes...for a normal sized water bottle there is probably 3 different sizes. 2 have threads of the same distance apart and the other has same distance but fewer threads. Don't quote me on that :) I started with a screw on. Bigger, heavier. I originally started this with an ultralight Backpacker mindset so trying to go as light as possible and small was my biggest challenge. Plus, it's easier to just pop in and out rather than screw it on an off :)
Interesting product, you could pair it with a small funnel....boil some water, let it cool to the right temp and funnel it into a smart bottle. A mini hot shower that's backpackable. I can see the usefulness of a bidet while on trail, but dude those things TICKLE🤣
I was fascinated that there's no separate screw-on retaining ring. How strong is the O-ring holding it in place? Will it pop off if you squeeze too hard?
With a regular bottle it stays. You have to remember that at the angle you are holding it you just can't squeeze that hard. And even if you held it in front of you with two hands the pressure is relieved by the water coming out.
I’m trying to figure out how you would make one of these for the fire service, to prevent the black soot ring from when you really gotta go in the house you just put out. 😂
You should talk to the people over at Garage Grown Gear and see about selling your bidet on their site. They have a huge audience of backpackers and campers that purchase gear from their site.
I need to retire first before expanding :) right now I can't imagine adding another item to my to-do list! But I have talked to him, and do agree that it would be a great fit.
@PaultheBackpacker I just put in my order for 4 bidets! I haven't used a bidet before, but might give it a try. I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis, so I always have toilet paper for those days that just are a little more than expected.
I know there are definitely people who use two bottles, but one bottle is fine. Even in the most incredible case where you're just holding it totally wrong, squirting totally wrong and everything is splashing back in the weirdest of circumstances, you can't get sick from yourself. You'd already be sick :)
@Dingeman-noname if you order the Cnoc, it comes with an extra oring that is on all the other so you could change orings to fit whatever bottle you ate bringing. Feel free to get any and in the notes when ordering just put you're the guy from RUclips and I'll make sure both orings get in the package! Or, you could do the 2 for $22 and get one with Cnoc oring on and one with standard oring@@Dingeman-noname
@@PaultheBackpacker Thanks. Is the diameter and so from the plastic part the same? So is only the o-ring different? So can I order a Cnoc with two rings or order a standard one with two ringes and then use one or the other on both bottles? So is it only the o-ring what differs?
If you think about it, most people don't dry in their crack after a shower. I get this Question a lot and so I have always tried to use the bidet and then keep track of how long it takes before I feel dry. it happens so quickly that I actually never remember to look at my watch and just go on with the hike :)
I have the “Tushy” bidet on every toilet in my house… now if I have to go anywhere without it, and the thought of dry toilet paper… seems barbarous 😂 - and now I can backpack clean, this is amazing, I’d now rather poop in the woods than use a toilet with no bidet.
I'm trying to figure out how to do a video showing how you don't get back splash :) I guess you could if you held it very close and held it low, but it's far enough away and at the angle you're squirting everything's going down not back up
Look halfway down into each description and there is a link for international shipping. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll send you one directly.
@@PaultheBackpacker I live in Finland, that's outside of US you know, and I would like to buy one. But that was not so easy... I did not find state "international shipping". What to do? Continue with paper?
This def has room for xpanding its reach and function! Bicycle bottles are thicker so use your pump somehow to pump it full of pressure! No more squeezing ! Just a thought!
@@StonemanRocks I envision a screw on top for the bottle into which the bidet would be inserted. The "snap on" bottle tops of old could/should be ignored in this venture! Putting a Presta/Schrader valve in the adaptor might work but a gasket/o-ring would probably be needed at the adaptor/bottle junction.
Nope. Everything drips straight down. The spray goes right in your crack which prevents the side splash. Kind of like spraying into a mug vs spraying a flat plate.
You don't ship these abroad as I saw. Maybe you will in the future, maybe you could go with an international retailer like Garage Grown Gear. From my personal experience they have superior shipping rates and I could justify the shipping by buying another more expensive item from them at the same time. Food for thought for the future. Meanwhile best of luck in your endeavor.

Thanks They all seem to be the same one is that correct? if not whats the difference please? sorry if its obvious but the product in each picture looks the same.
The only time it would ever pop out, and I know this is going to sound silly, is if you put it in wet into a bottle that's slightly too big. So for example a super cheap crumbly Dollar Store water bottle. If you put it in wet and squeeze really hard it could pop out. One thing is that when you hold it behind your back, the positioning of your arm doesn't allow you to exert maximum pressure. But in testing I've tried many times to pop it out! And I would have to say that there's a really good chance that my hands are bigger than most of the population :-) I have been in a situation where I've had to put it into one of those cheap water bottles and I just make sure I don't try to crush it as hard as I can and just go slow! The reality is is that if I ever thought it was going to pop out or had testing results in which it popped out I would never sell it.
@@PaultheBackpacker Thanks Paul for the quick & thorough response. I'm impressed with the product design & learning how to switch to bedet use. Much appreciated!
Romans used a sponge on a stick and container of salt water. They sponge painters on a stick at any Dollar store or art supplies. Salt is easier to carry. Water is available.. Use your old US Aluminum Canteen Cup or old steel pot. The sponge wipes. The salt makes you a tough guy. But only loan your coffee cup to your you get brother. The big secret. Or go on walking 200 meters upstream and washing your ecoli butt in the stream. * Water filters at least screen out the farticles. Have a coffee on me!
It would be useful for long distance bicycle tourists too... Going days at a time with no shower, with your butt on a bicycle saddle, can be pretty unpleasant! Ask me how I know... Hint, it has to do with riding over 8,600 miles on such trips. 😉

Question a lot and so I have always tried to use the bidet and then keep track of how long it takes before I feel dry. it happens so quickly that I actually never remember to look at my watch and just go on with the hike :)
@@PaultheBackpacker good point! Excited to give this thing a “shot”. Thanks!
"unless you have someone else in the room with you, which is just weird" hahaha
I have the “Tushy” bidet on every toilet in my house… now if I have to go anywhere without it, and the thought of dry toilet paper… seems barbarous 😂 - and now I can backpack clean, this is amazing, I’d now rather poop in the woods than use a toilet with no bidet.
congrats!
How do you deal with splash that will inevitably get on your drinking container?
I'm trying to figure out how to do a video showing how you don't get back splash :) I guess you could if you held it very close and held it low, but it's far enough away and at the angle you're squirting everything's going down not back up
Wish you shipped to Canada. Super simple but fantastic idea -- also great for van lifers. :)

It would be handy if there were an adapter that would allow the use of this on bicycle water bottles...
Just trying to figure out how to get this into production was enough for me! I'll leave the adapter up to you :-)
This def has room for xpanding its reach and function!
When you spray your backside doesn’t the spray splash on your lower leg and also on your underwear and pants or shorts that are around your ankles?

Is that what happened to the shuttle?
...har forsøgt at bestille 3. stk af dine Holey Hiker Bidet. Men kunne ikke gennemføre handel idet jeg bor i Danmark - håber du måske kan henvise til forhandler der leverer til Danmark/EU zone. På forhånd tak Martin
I got 3 for me. Butt, i remember when my dog needed a tumor removed from his rectum. This would have been great to clean his surgical wound after he pooped! As it was, i used baby whipes. It about killed me to care for him, but he's doing great a year on. My vet said so many people won't care for the wounds and bring the dog back in 2 weeks for euthanasia. I will tell him about your product. Maybe it will save some pooches lives 😊.
Glad to hear you dog is doing great. That would be a great use. I have had to get iodine into goat wounds in the past and think it would be a great use for it after reading your story.
Do you ship to Canada?I tried to order but could not.Happy trails.

I am disabled and a portable bidet is so useful. yours would be very discrete and handy. Will you be doing international sales please?

Thanks They all seem to be the same one is that correct? if not whats the difference please? sorry if its obvious but the product in each picture looks the same.
Yes, all the same!
Any issues with it popping off the bottle during use?
Hi! Do you ship internationally? Greetings from Finland
Yes we do, tinyurl.com/Holeyhiker
Romans used a sponge on a stick and container of salt water. They sponge painters on a stick at any Dollar store or art supplies. Salt is easier to carry. Water is available.. Use your old US Aluminum Canteen Cup or old steel pot. The sponge wipes. The salt makes you a tough guy. But only loan your coffee cup to your you get brother.
The big secret.
Or go on walking 200 meters upstream and washing your ecoli butt in the stream.
* Water filters at least screen out the farticles.
Have a coffee on me!
It's not April 1st is it?
I'm good, you'd never know if I was pulling an April's fool joke.
Amazing tool for cleaning thanks. I

It sucks you don't ship to Canada
I do, think I have to increase the size of the link for international shipping :) I'll paste it here bit.ly/44Elng5
Ingenious

The bidets? The bidets no, the shirts yes :)
Do u ship to Malaysia ?
Sorry I was never notified of this comment and missed it! Here are the directions bit.ly/44Elng5
Far out. Going to pick one up.
It would be useful for long distance bicycle tourists too... Going days at a time with no shower, with your butt on a bicycle saddle, can be pretty unpleasant! Ask me how I know... Hint, it has to do with riding over 8,600 miles on such trips. 😉

Glad to see you again! When will you be in sharktank :) 😉
Can you imagine their faces when I ask for a volunteer to do a demo :)
@@PaultheBackpacker But seriously: I buy these as part of a “travel” kit and add them to my “go” kit/bag. The pandemic taught us not to underestimate this “luxury”……

How do I order one of these?

I just back pack with a pressure washer. Course it takes an extremely long hose 😂
Excellent for hemeroids

Got a couple, 👍
Or, just carry baby wipes 😉
No, bidet is easier; especially in back country camping.
@@everettstevenson6110 no shot. You still have to wipe and dry up after using it. Nothing is easier than baby wipes. And baby wipes make you feel much cleaner than water does.
Will you ship to Canada? We poop too! 😉

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣website is hysterical.
It confuses many people :) "how is the left-handed bidet different from the right-handed version?"
A bota wine bag works better.
Plastic makes it possible! Good ol US plastic!
I was going to track down the source of oil, but let's just assume it's local oil too :-)
I think its an innovative product by the way just wondering how you dry off after using it! Im ignorant in the bidet world! Closest Ive come is installing a few in my tile career! But as for using one no!
You don't need to. Think about it, when you get out of the shower you don't purposely dry inside your crack :-)
Dude wipes, dude.
Literally just poke a hole in the side of a water bottle lol
Isnt this portable bidet, for LGBTQ and women haha.
You should sponsor Cheap Charlie, aka Shannon Medlock, aka Billy Blue on his AT expedition.
