I always keep these notes but this vid was so rushed i used them in frame because my Surface pro was not set up. I was using M11 balanced and my notes. Fuck it...roll with the notes :)
@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews I really don't mind the notes being on screen. I'm not surprised with your findings. Coming from the diy audio side, driver size does matter. It was one of the main reasons I was instantly intrigued by these headphones when I read through the specs. Also, the reason you need more on the volume knob with one vs the other is due to the db/mW or sensitivity. That's the main thing that's gonna determine the volume. I'm betting the tin hifi p1 was in the same ballpark for you. Also, side note, I consistently hear China can't make quality products from people (all iPhone users). It seems to me with this latest batch of products we are seeing some of the most competitive offerings yet. Can't wait to see what they think of next.
I sense the excitement over the Phantom.Waiting a bit more for your full review but for me this purchase will be huge.Im trying to get the best out on my new M11 and so far the T2 and the Koss 75 as well as my only Full headphone ,Phillips 9500 are all I have. Nice review. I have the Sendy Aiva and have ordered the Thieaudio Phantom, so was interested in this review. Just a point, the Aiva are real wood, you can remove the cable from one of the cups and see the woodgrain goes all the way through. I wasn't too crazy about the Aivas at first, listening to my test tracks as a lot of them have good clean bass, and they didn't quite have the slam as my other planars (Monoprice 1060, 1060C, LCD2C, Verum 1) but after listening to them with my other music, I really appreciated their detail retrieval, and I quite like the detail in the cups as well as the cable. Looking forward to doing my own cpmparisons when the Phantoms get here. Oh, and you forgot one big advantage the Phantoms have over the Aiva's...they are $300 less.
Yeah, the Sendy is hand lacquered zebra wood, they crafted their own cnc process and sealers to prevent any moisture penetration. Excellent craftsmanship on every part. Somewhere out there is a video too. Also break them in some. Bigger bass on the Phantom is likely the bigger driver moving more air but bigger is more mass so interested in the detail retrieval between them. Time will tell, as will the tracking number if I get one. That's a nice feature too: if you could kindly pass that along. When's it supposed to ship?
Nice one BG/GA, great to see so many affordable planar magnetic headphones nowadays. Fostex, Monolith even Brainwavz famous for their ear pad has got an affordable planar headphone. I'll be getting the Tin HiFi P1's though since it'll be my first ever planar IEM's.
Hi, this is probably one of the most simple direct reviews of the sound signature of Sendy Audio Aiva. Thank you. What are your thoughts on the Chifi rant on how bad the Sendy Audio Aivas are? I am deciding between the Aivas and Apollos. But more so the Apollos, as I have not had a chance to try the Aivas. Appreciate any suggestions
Just chatted with Linsoul, they told me that it will ship with the extra pads and the balanced cable....... unless they don't finish doing the balanced cable on time (they are aiming for Friday) in which case they will send the headphones first and then separately send the balanced cable to everyone who placed an order.
I apologize for the reply to your old video, thank you for your work. The videos are all excellent and I want to buy the Phantom. But it's sold out everywhere, has the Thieaudio Phantom been discontinued? What's a similarly good planar headphone for a similar price? My perception with the Tin HIFI P1 is that it has amazing mid and treble, and it sounds like there's no distortion in the high end - there's more high, and the fidelity of it completely outclasses my 20 year old HD 580 (I still use those daily). Do you agree, that there's probably much less distortion with planars, in the high end? HD580 are rated for < 0.1% (but I suspect ONLY at 1 kHz) which looks techinically better than < 1% on the Phantom. I suspect, again, that that number only looks worse at 1 kHz and realistically is much better in high frequencies. Nobody seems to measure or list distortion at any other frequencies. Do you know why?
That Sendy case looks ridiculous. Evidently it functions well (presumably the point!) Thanks for the heads up about the Phantom. I'm guessing these might be price point winners, at least going by your preference here. (Agree with you on cymbal strikes!)
