- Travellers Rest is an amazing management, crafting, building RPG where you get to run a medieval tavern. Think of it like Stardew Valley meets Graveyard Keeper meets... tavern? It is a joy to play, but can be daunting at first, as there are many systems and mechanics to learn. In this complete beginners guide to Travellers Rest, I will explain to you the basics from the ground up by starting a brand new character so you can watch and even play along. I will explain the controls, the UI, the mechanics, how to build, quest, serve your customers, and run a successful tavern. I detail my thought process, sharing tips and tricks along the way but I spoil nothing about the game or the story. I don't force a particular path or tell you to min/max, but rather help by providing the fundamentals so you can enjoy Travellers Rest at your own pace. If you are thinking of buying the game and want to see early gameplay, or have purchased it but would like some pointers on the basics, this is the guide for you!

I started playing with mouse and keyboard, but they game is more fun IMO with a controller haha ;) I think it works great on controller, personally!

In the options menu you can turn auto run on so you don’t have to hold left trigger. You just press it once

Haha, yes! It's a great way to relax--although it can get a little hectic in the tavern! Luckily, you can just bop people with your mop haha

You have a great video and your run on this game is great. This game was great but...your guide won't help new beginners too much NOW because of the new changes. the "serving tray" and the problem with the TAPS bar kegs and AGING kegs and the icons which you can't tell clearly what drink the customers are ordering so you can serve them FAST....is a problem. The game is still fun, but until you have a wait staff who automatically can tell exactly what drink the customer is buying, the new game is a bit of a hassle. You can fall behind real fast and then get negative reviews and dirty tables. The only way I have found to get through that, is to ONLY have 2 big tables and one small one...for a while. And I mean "
a while". I would rather make more money and get more tables. But you cannot keep up with the rowdy crowd and ===to make matters worst...now...NOW....you have to also serve the customers who order drinks from their table while they sit down. So, you have customers at the bar and customers at the tables. And by the way, 2 tables need cleaning and you don't YET have that magic broom......? See what I mean. IF you take 2 extra seconds to figure out what drink the guy at the bar ordered.....you could fall behind.....ITS NOT THE SAME GAME.
Wow--I am going to try the patch soon and see what it's like! I hope they make it smoother! Sounds rough!
1) I still don't understand why they couldn't leave it alone. It worked fine for me, before, on my PC. 2) you and some others, are BETTER at playing than me. If you think its rough, after playing post patch, then that means something. I know "Johnnytrek" played it using the new patch, but I haven't seen his video yet. Perhaps the problems are manageable but it is tougher and less fun for sure. For some players who lack quick finger skills, its not going to be fun. YOU have to be FAST in the new post patch game, seriously.@@DrIncompetent

I'm totally addicted by this Game.
But Sometimes I struggle with the Controller. My Character Always moves to the upper right Corner. It's Not a drift in the Controller, its only a thing in this Game. Do you got problems with using the Controller too?
I haven't had that same issue with the controller--that sounds really odd and frustrating... I am loving this game, too!

Why does copper go down when u sell something, that confuses me
I haven't noticed that! Maybe it's a bug? Or they are giving you enough copper to make a silver and the game animates it strangely... I'm not sure!

Great question! I do not know, unfortunately... I know it's not super cheap, but I got my logitech PC controller for like 20 or 25 USD from amazon and it's a serviceable XBOX controller for much less than the real thing ;)

i love graveyard keeper... but stardew valley being place by roots of pacha... and stardew is just a game for kids

@DrIncompetent travellers rest is the best game of my life... its something like diner dash plus graveyard keeper.. this is so amazing... plus this indie game run about 1 gb.. i woundnt imagine such indie game would do that.. its normally 250 mb to 500 mb.. this is so incredible that someone put the hard work on this game..
