The Extus, Oriq Overlord player here! It was cool to play against you again CGB! I chuckled when you mentioned you thought I was playing off-curve to hold up a Lightning Bolt or Swords to Plowshares to respond to the mutate, I just had poor draws, such is Magic. I was hoping I'd make the cut for your video. Good game! 🥳
Why would you concede during lethal combat? Nothing worse than a player doing that rather than relaxing for the 1.5 seconds it takes to finish them off. You don't save time because of the effort to click concede taking up more energy than simply waiting for the incoming strike.
I just played against this deck yesterday and the opponent got Omniscience with I believe less than 10 cards left in his library. Tried to rope me out hoping that I would scoop and then they proceeded to just cast Sea Gate Restoration and killed themselves lmao. Very important to not just auto scoop to this combo depending on where exactly they hit the Omniscience in the deck and what cards they have left in hand.
I suspect it's much more a case of learning to read the card. The opponent likely assumed that that was a cascade-type effect, and didn't realize that the huge stream of cards they just witnessed going by was being exiled.
Awesome deck - watching someone Tasha ult me to have my whole library milled and then Gaia's blessing putting it all back was a 10/10 moment. I've put Cosmic Epiphany into my version which I think is legit!
He surely could have used Mizzix's Mastery to cast the clear the mind from his graveyard, shuffle everything in and then just go nuts! So I don't think he would have lost game 2 if the opponent didn't scoop. Definitely a premature scoop though!
CGB in the game against the Gaea you could have won a turn earlier by playing the plating before combat which would grow the token to a 7/7 then you mutate your commander going to 0 cards in your library but since it’s mutated it comes in able to attack and since the zombie is a 0/0 with seven counters the iluna is a 13/13 or 6/6 with seven counters and then you attack for lethal
I have to say, while I'm enjoying the content and the historic brawl videos, I'm somewhat disappointed that the intros aren't as detailed as the standard videos are. I'm well aware that trying to go through all 100 cards is going to be really time consuming, but I feel like a general gameplan and then perhaps sorting the cards into piles of card advantage, ramp, wincons/combos, interaction (removal/counter spells), etc... would help viewers get a little more in-depth idea of what the deck is trying to do beyond the very big picture intro that CGB is doing now
Unless you're legitimately pressed for time, in which case you shouldn't even be on Arena, there's no reason to scoop. Just play it out and see what happens. Worse case scenario you'll lose which you would have regardless if you chose to scoop. Best case you'll squeeze out an unexpected win. It's about the journey not the destination.
@@r3games1985 it does, and I think that there’s an actual science thing called Omni-science, but that’s different. The word on the card is omniscience (omnishence), meaning “all-knowing”, and usually used in reference to deities/gods/omnipotent beings
Lol played this deck and got omniscience out but was gonna lose bc opponent had urza's sylex out and enough mana. I was like " welp omniscience about to be wiped out" but he ended up surrendering for some odd reason lol
God I hope not. Standard is the most boring format, and really the only boring format (alchemy is objectively worse than standard but at least even that has more variety in the meta than standard). In standard you just face the same 5 decks in every match, all the other formats at least allow people to be creative and you encounter unique decks in every match.
Are the "if you mill out you win the game instead of lose" cards legal in Historical Brawl? They would fit in the deck, though you would risk hitting them with your Commander.
Only WAR Jace and Thoracle, but the issue is more that the deck basically has two modes: control and combo. While both are great if you've shifted to the combo portion of the game, they won't really save you from a scenario where you've exiled an absurd amount of your library because odds are they'll also have been exiled, and when you're in control mode they're exceedingly dead draws.
Omniscience should have had a significant cost reduction and read something like: Your opponents play with their hands revealed to you. You may look at the top card of any players library. Tap: scry 7. The current effect more accurately simulates omnipotence than anything.
Decks like this are super lame. You essentially just win because people don't want to deal with your endless turn. It's like not wanting to sit through life gain triggers. Like playing tegrid and getting rage scoops left and right.
Uh no my friend he’s pronouncing it correctly. Omniscience is like what a god has, they see everything know everything. That is omniscience. It is NOT Omni-science.
13:11 you shuffled with the cultivate after the impulse haha
The second game proves that fear is the mind killer.
fear is the little death that brings total obliteration
Fear is normal but the willingness to overcome it makes the difference
@@irgendsoeintyp1981 sorry we were quoting Dune
@@luka2784 I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
Game 2 is why you always make them have it and don't concede until the last moment. People give up WAY to quickly.

No way that guy really conceded to you having only 1 card in your library lol
The ending of the second game was such a roller-coaster of emotions

The lesson to learn here is to count your opponent's deck before conceding.
I suspect it's much more a case of learning to read the card. The opponent likely assumed that that was a cascade-type effect, and didn't realize that the huge stream of cards they just witnessed going by was being exiled.
I don’t watch TV anymore. Every night before bed, I watch CGB play HB.
Lol " don't bolt me bro" that would make a sweet t-shirt
Really enjoying these historic brawl video, even more so than the standard ones, thanks for the great content !
Illuna is my favorite card ever printed. So glad to see it on this channel
Thank you very much for your marvelous gameplay, master CovertGoBlue.

Id like to see another vid of this same exact deck. Prolly my fav vid from u
i was surprised not to see any snow duals for into the north, but your mana bases are always solid anyhow
Hey CGB I was wondering if you have ever done a wandering emperor historic brawl deck filled with nothing but instant and flash speed cards
MTGRemy on this deck: Wake me up! before you combo...
I just wanna know that it’s not a nonbo
Deck looks wild! Thanks CGB.
Mutation Historic Brawl, it's a task for the one in the best of one, make one CGB!
THE ONE DECK I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR💯😈

Clear the Mind was exiled, not in the graveyard
i didn't realize i was watching a mono black magic video, cool!
Eyy Made a commander deck doing this, real fun and budget friendly :)
Reminded me of MBM a little bit with this one.
I know this is old, but do you think this would be any good in a offline Deck with friends currently?

Vorinclex says round down, so the 1/1 from the plating would disappear and it would stay a 6/6
Oh yeah your right. My bad
Oh boy, here comes the combo ropes
This was a cool one 🤙
I love Illuna, but I do wish it's ability worked more like Cascade. But yeah, this is certainly more exciting
Oh that Gidorah, I wish I had those Godzilla skins
I have a similar list. Has ramp, card draw, and 7 mana damage spells. It seems janky but it's been working for years lol.
Would be nice to see you play with some low-power commanders like kwende
Second game enemy probably thought that a thassa oracle was coming
The only time I pulled this off Omniscience was on the bottom.
lol impulse scoop XD
holy hell you evil genius lmao

Isn't it Omni Science? Or is it Omnishence
Omnishence is the correct way to pronounce it, tho the spelling suggests otherwise (like literally99% of English words lmao😂)
