I'm a bit of an obsessive prince fan, and this song has always been special. Prince's version always trumped Sinead's as it was from his heart. But Chris Cornell close to made this his own. Beautiful. Such a loss, both of them. Agree with you 100% when he died a beautiful voice and soul was lost, both of them Every word he sings absolute raspy syrup.
God needed one just like him!!! When you go to the garden you always pick the prettiest flowers!!! Miss you brother, the world is a little darker since you left us.
As a widow, this song breaks me. It describes my life now to a tee. I do find it strange everyone who has done it, Sinead, Chris and Prince basically all died by their own hands with 2 suicides and one by fentanyl use, all dying decades too early. It makes such a sad, haunting song so much more sad and haunting.
So many of the artists I loved, and influenced my taste in music, my playing and writing, failed attempts in different vocal techniques have went way to soon. But I’m grateful for all they gave in that sliver of time. Life without music would be a mistake.
One way to help remember the Bass/cello thing is that the violin bass is also called the "stand up bass" and is the height of an average man, nearly 6 feet tall. Cellos are about 4 feet, Viola is just under 3 feet and the Violin is even slightly smaller.
Chris Cornell has been one of my favorite vocalists to emulate. I sing in many styles, but his voice is just so beautiful one moment, and a chainsaw the next. In the words of one of the A&R guys who "discovered" Soundgarden, "Total fucking Godhead".
It is still very difficult to wrap my head around the fact that such a beautiful and talented man could and did take his own life. Clinical depression is a hideous disorder.
His cover of Guns 'n' Roses' "Patience" is on a whole different level as well. He's one of those people that had that ability to take a song to a whole new level. He did a cover of "One." By Metallica. And U-2. At the same time. The music from one, and the lyrics from the other. It was amazing.
First time visitor. Haven't heard a bunch of Sinead's music but her vocals on this song was jaw dropping THOUGH the line " All the flowers that you planted Mama in the backyard" always threw me UNTIL 💡 I heard this version and it finally made sense and confirmed when finding out it was written by PRINCE. Mama still refers to the exlover. No one has ever mentioned that or ask why is she bringing up her Mama's flowers 🌼🌹🌺??? Great Channel Guys!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
I wish you two would do yourselves a favor and listen to another Chris Cornell song. My fave version of it is "When Im Down," live at the Troubadour. Enjoy and i hope that you and your other subs all have a wonderful holidays.
There was gonna be The Pretty Reckless bond song for No Time To Die but Billie Eilish was popular at the time. You should check out The Pretty Reckless "25" unplugged. The bond song that should've been.
Why did so many ppl put in the comments that “ Nothing Compares 2 U” was written by Prince & that Chris Cornell did the song in the Bond film Casino Royale when Dave said those very things in the friggin’ video?!?! Wtf am I missing???
0:30 ROFL, to quote the band Sum-41, "It's all about the he said, she said bullshit. I think you better quit talking that shit, or I'mma leave you with a fat lip." 5:00 Well, it was written by Prince...I don't know if it's down to the song writing, the performance, or the person singing...it's just dang good all-around...
You 2 need to, watch/listen to C.C. do a cover of, the Beatles song," imagine" C.C., did this on the, Howard Stern show. This one really shows his vocal range. It's and excellent listen
Hope to see some reactions to some of Chris bands, especially Audioslave... and hopefully u react to his cover of Billie Jean, but u gotta do the right cover, it's way better than MJs imo... if u need the link to the video i can get it for u
I still get a bit weepy when I listen to Cornell's rendition of this. One of the greatest voices in rock, ever.
R.I.P. Chris

Chris Cornell live performance of When I'm down Troubadour 2010
Chris Cornell has been one of my favorite vocalists to emulate. I sing in many styles, but his voice is just so beautiful one moment, and a chainsaw the next. In the words of one of the A&R guys who "discovered" Soundgarden, "Total fucking Godhead".

It's amazing to me that he can sing like that while sitting down with his legs crossed, wow.
Chris was Chester from linkin parks god father and is believed to be the main reason for his end as well

T-Pain and Snoop Dogg just came out with a BANGER of a song called That's How We Ballin. Really a legendary duo in T Pain and Snoop Dogg.
Check out his acoustic show live in Sweden.
Correct on the Bond theme song. He did You Know My Name for Casino Royale, Daniel Craig’s first movie
Damnit... I Love Chris. The man was amazing. He is in my top three Staylist. ["or in Africa" was a fantastic aside]
Just to clear something about this song by Price. He wrote this song for his mother when she passed away.
I wish you two would do yourselves a favor and listen to another Chris Cornell song. My fave version of it is "When Im Down," live at the Troubadour. Enjoy and i hope that you and your other subs all have a wonderful holidays.
Chris was truly gifted! He is missed!
This song was written by Prince
There was gonna be The Pretty Reckless bond song for No Time To Die but Billie Eilish was popular at the time. You should check out The Pretty Reckless "25" unplugged. The bond song that should've been.
I think this is the best verison!!
He doesn’t look like he’s trying, the power is dio-like.
Long live Chris Cornell.
"You Know My Name" from Casino Royale. Daniel Craig's first turn as Bond.
Why did so many ppl put in the comments that “ Nothing Compares 2 U” was written by Prince & that Chris Cornell did the song in the Bond film Casino Royale when Dave said those very things in the friggin’ video?!?! Wtf am I missing???
From the first Daniel Craig....Casino Royale "You Know My Name"
He also had Temple of the Dog
The Bond intro was Casino Royale
0:30 ROFL, to quote the band Sum-41, "It's all about the he said, she said bullshit. I think you better quit talking that shit, or I'mma leave you with a fat lip."
5:00 Well, it was written by Prince...I don't know if it's down to the song writing, the performance, or the person singing...it's just dang good all-around...

The thing about grieving is we're all jealous we wish we had more. I'm not sure if that's wrong or right.
Check out Chris Cornell 's version of Billy Jean by Michael Jackson
It's equally as good as this imo
Chris did a song for Casino Royale starring Daniel Craig.
Prince wrote it and Chris perfected it!
You've got to listen to his Billie Jean acoustic as well!!!!!!!!
New immortal disfigurement slaps hard
You 2 need to, watch/listen to C.C. do a cover of, the Beatles song," imagine"
C.C., did this on the, Howard Stern show.

Try Marxman, ship ahoy, featuring Sinead O’Connor - 2 Dublin lads, 2 Bristol lads. Old but gold.
Check out Soundgarden Rusty Cage next!
Check out his cover of Michael Jackson's song Billie Jean. It will blow your mind
Prince wrote this song.
Sinead sang from a female perspective and Chris from a male perspective
But it was written by Prince if you know he was
It was Casino Royale
Another great cover from him is Billie Jean
Prince, Sinead, Chris…….How is it that they are all on the other side of the rest of us?………What does that mean for where we are, now?
Prince - Chris Cornell - Sinead O'Connor ... all gone. 😢
Do his version of Billie Jean, the Michael Jackson song. It's awesome
Casino Royale
Casino royale with Daniel Craig Chris did,
Prince then senead then chris
It was one the worst days of my life when I heard Chris Cornell killed himself. I still hate myself. I know I don't make any sense
IF he had just stayed quiet about the music industries pedos....
Didn’t Prince write this song?
He performed the Bond song, “You know my name“
Hey Dave your mums pimp called, he wants her bush back.
