10:34 The long length of your drain tube will eventually cause it to break off due to vibration. Cutting it back as short as you can & running a longer hose will virtually eliminate that possibility.

Thanks, I did actually end up shortening it up a few weeks after I posted this video. When I did it I wanted to make sure I had enough bc its easier to cut short than remove and add. Thanks though!

I went with a vintage air set up for ac on mine. Can see where your drivers side alternator would be a problem as the compressor goes there. All in all nice job. Have a 6500 optimizer and a banks set up on mine. Not a power house just a little more pep.

I'm thinking about trading my 2008 Chevy 2500 for a m1009. I've always loved the K5 and figured why not get 20mpg with the diesel. I'm going to look at it this Saturday.

its a great truck, great off road but, gutless and should need bigger axles if you go any bigger than 33s

Check out my other channel. I'm going to look at the m1009 this sunday and will have a video of it shortly after. Its Second Chance Garage , the logo is a red circle with a 2C in it. There r a couple other channels with the same name.

thanks for the video. i have an 84 k20 with around 70k stock miles. i usually will get up to 70mph on highways. a couple long steep hills 60-65 on a good day. There is a shorter steeper highway that I can barely keep it at 50. Really thinking about adding a turbo and ac. problem with this truck is that there is a million things that i can do to upgrade it

Dude, I'm in the exact same boat as you...I have the Nostalgic Air A/C setup and am trying to turbo it. Mine's still a 24v setup however so I do need both alternators (I like the extra juice on the starter). I just got a 6.5 manifold, and a used GM-4 turbo. Unfortunately I didn't think about the vacuum wastegate being on the front of those so we'll have to see how it fits with the A/C compressor there. Need to figure something out like what you have with the spring set up. How's that working for you now that you've had it for a few months?

I have an 83 6.2L stock fuel setting with a Banks set up.
Im wondering how much to adjust.

Im using an ebay China GM8 turbo and I installed the oil cooler feed like from the junction box in the driver side oil cooler line. the return is at the mechanical fuel pump plate

Your exhaust was done by a hack. Get your money back and put the exhaust inside your frame rails with proper supports.
