New to pc and building my first pc, so you overclocked the mobo and the ram if i got it right? I heard the 7800x3d had a sweet spot of 6000hz for ram and not recommended to overclock but assuming ur not o/c the cpu and just the mobo, your good with no issues?
I probably wouldn't go with this board a second time but it does the job well for now. I used PBO on the CPU and overclocked the RAM while narrowing down the timings a good bit. Nothing done to the board which I imagine you're talking about BCLK overclocking which makes the board increase default frequencies.
G'day from Australia again 5strz. just got to say i love your no nonsense content dude. My first ever AMD/Radeon build Ive ordered 7800x3d paired with 7900xtx but my ram is 2X16GB GB Team's 6000mhz cl38 EXPO. i was wondering if u had any issues with the 7200mhz cl34. did u have to lower speeds.. did it run fine.. did it require manual tuning? Also if it helps i am only air-cooled with a Deepcool Assassin IV.. do you think clocking ram up to your speed would cause to much heat? any info or link to another vid with info if u have already explained would be much appreciated my G. peace...
I don’t think I’ve done anything with this newer revision so last August there were AM5 BIOS updates that let you run past 6400MT. You just have to half the memory controller so instead of 1/1 is 1/2 but then you can hit XMP on a 7200C34 kit. I’ve tuned all the sets up to varying degrees but performance versus 6000C38 should see an improvement
