Denmark is a great place to learn and to play music. I am a 50+ year old British guy living in Copenhagen. Three years ago I picked up the guitar and was learning from RUclips (Andy Guitar, Mike Bradley, etc). Two years ago a friend told me to try a band type class at a local music school. Now I realise that this music school is in the same building as Søren's Medley Studios, where many famous artists have recorded and been produced by Søren. One of my teacher's is a friend of Søren's and my other teacher plays bass with Mike Tramp! It's a very cozy scene over here and to be only 1 degree of separation from folk like Søren and Mike when just being an old learner thrashing out of tune notes from my guitar is awesome, inspiring and a great privilege. This was a very cool video and the best I have seen from Anderton's.
Another 50+ British guy living in Denmark... I can only agree with everything in this comment. We have everything at hand, no matter where you are in Denmark. I'm near Odense and even have a guitar builder in the small village where I live. I get my repairs done at Hansen which is just a short drive away and we even have another pickup winder than Hansen nearby too. Only criticism I have of Denmark's guitar scene is that there isn't enough love for Roland Jazz Choruses and Yamaha SGs (which OTOH means probably some of Europe's lowest prices on them... so it ain't all bad).
Søren is a true rock hero, for instance he stepped in as a bass player for danish rock band dad. After stig broke his arm and saved the their whole tour.
To the people that don´t know them: The band name is DAD, not ones dad, and the guy who broke his arm was Stig. Some people have problems with capital letters.
Great meeting, Søren sure comes across as a highly professional nice guy. Definitely seems like the path modern day musicians should take note of if they'd like to earn a good living now in the industry. Very enjoyable Captain.
Captain, that's the best meets ever. Loved that song so much I've decided to become Danish. Hil drot og fædreland! Hil hver en danneborger, som virker, hvad han kan! :| Vort gamle Danmark skal bestå, så længe bøgen spejler sin top i bølgen blå :|
This guy has great technique, hits you right in the feels! Hey Lee, have you considered doing a 'capt meets' Pete, Rabea, Dan and Mick etc. Would be cool to hear the back stories of the Andertons team.
Mike is a really nice guy and it's great to see him still doing what he loves. If he's a freak of nature for it than I'm one too. Soren is a sweet guy too and a great player. I'm glad they teamed up. Rock on Boyz!
Danny Peel or maybe Captain and Chappers interviews Mark and Myles at the same time, throw Rabea in there too just because and then they could all jam together
Myles Kennedy plays guitar?!? Man has an amazing voice ill agree on that one, but im searching google for a listen to some of this guitar playing you're talking about!
dude this sounded amazing! well recorded and mixed. You should make live sessions for bands. You know, something like "Andertons TV Live Sessions", I'm pretty sure, since you guys have gotten so big, lots of people would be interested in leaving their most recent works recorded by you.
My favorite episode so far. Soren you sir are a real class act and seem like a really fun guy to be around. Maybe these guys can twist your arm into spending time with them more often. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no mOAH, Lee!
He's the guitarist for Ex Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes and i have that very gain pedal, (Three stage Rocket) and man does that do the business or what!! Would'nt be without it now.. Straight into a clean amp and away you goooooo
Fan-flipping-tastic. So grateful to see interviews with true ROCK players like Soren here and Gilbert. Would be infinitely thrilled to see Doug Aldrich here. Thanks always.
MadDrummer100000 it seems that Danish people are nice people who love a good laugh. Plus their names are really cool,. Soren? Damn that is cool!!! I wonder what is Pete's real name?
Amazing rendition of my favourite Freak of Nature track! :D What an unexpected treat on what was one of the best The Captain Meets videos. Lee always delivers top notch interviews and Søren is one of the most tasteful modern players out there along with guys like Doug Aldrich. Now THAT would be an incredible interview!
Not heard of Mike Tramp before, but the performance the end was great. The mix of the electric guitar sounds and the acoustic is one of the most inspiring things I've heard in ages.
Just found this as a weed my way through Andertons archives... MOST EXCELLENT! I have to say as an aging curmudgeon of sorts, I have found a few new artists that I have really liked on your site, which really is saying something. I have been in a music desert, short just a few songs or bands for what seems like 30 years. Kudos for that.
4:00 "Making a living playing guitar" could be many many things including being a trade show demonstrator, R&D contributor, music teacher, studio player, song writer, music producer, tour technician, etc... many people that probably don't have the "fame" but often contribute just as much to the music industry to make better products for anyone that isn't making a living playing them ;)
My boy is 8. Learning guitar at school. Did a little end of term concert... played Smoke on the Water... I very nearly cried with pride... next year Paul Gilbert and Guthrie Goven... shred. SHRED, DAMN YOU!!!! ;oD
Soren seems like a really cool dude, and a great player. Thanks to this video I checked out his web site (which doesn't appear to have been updated since 2014...) and learned that he has a solo album named "Constant Replay". So, I grabbed a copy, and I think it's a great album! It's classic hard rock (think Glenn Hughes/Gary Moore) with a little more pop influence. Fun!
Well, no, I have not, because until right this second I did not know of their existence. Some cursory research shows that they have several albums - is there one in particular that you recommend? Also, Mike Tramp sounds fantastic! I love "Freak of Nature." Now I need to check out his album too. Edit - some more research has revealed that song to be What I Am, and I like this acoustic version better than the album track I found.
String Fever is pretty solid and also check out the video Headless Chicken if your into D.A.D Mike Tramp always sounded fantastic, from Euro Vision to White Lion to today :)
Great guy, down to earth, and a great player! It's made me look again at those Yamaha guitars.... How about seeing of you can get Pete Thorn on here one day?
Mike Tramp it´s a perfect classic hard rock vocalist. Loved White Lion, was such a great band ! Soren is great, it´s been a while already I don´t see a demo of him, be it Yamaha or TC, nice person, great musician, humble.

Just saw Soren with Glenn Hughes and Soren was FANTASTIC and, yes, he channeled his inner Blackmore and delivered amazing Strat tone.
this is is probably the most effortlessly cool guy I've ever seen
He's just like that. Very cool, super friendly and one heck of a guitar player (and producer).
@@martinhelgren that is an understatement. :-)
all Scandinavians are like this!
So nice to see a real pro who is completely practical with his rig.
Søren is a true rock hero, for instance he stepped in as a bass player for danish rock band dad. After stig broke his arm and saved the their whole tour.
To the people that don´t know them: The band name is DAD, not ones dad, and the guy who broke his arm was Stig. Some people have problems with
capital letters.
Kim Hansen For those who don't know who DAD, it's Disneyland After Dark but to avoid a lawsuit from Walt Disney and change its name to D-A-D
Stepping in for Stig does, however, mean only having to play on 2 strings....
Which is much easier. I know since I play both bass and guitar - but not in the same band !? @@whssy
Great meeting, Søren sure comes across as a highly professional nice guy. Definitely seems like the path modern day musicians should take note of if they'd like to earn a good living now in the industry. Very enjoyable Captain.
I just want to take this opportunity to give this man Søren, my Danish compatriot a standing ovation 🇩🇰👏🏻😎
Captain, that's the best meets ever. Loved that song so much I've decided to become Danish.
Hil drot og fædreland!

Fedt nok
This guy has great technique, hits you right in the feels! Hey Lee, have you considered doing a 'capt meets' Pete, Rabea, Dan and Mick etc. Would be cool to hear the back stories of the Andertons team.
By far the most entertaining interview you've done Lee. This guy knows his shit and is very entertaining.
Søren is probably one of Yamaha's coolest guitar endorsers.
Greetings from a fellow Dane.
Mike is a really nice guy and it's great to see him still doing what he loves. If he's a freak of nature for it than I'm one too. Soren is a sweet guy too and a great player. I'm glad they teamed up. Rock on Boyz!
I just love this dude, great player, and really one of the coolest.
I love his personality (his kind and humorous demeanor) and his straightforward advice! Thank you for interviewing him @ Andertons!
The Captain Meets Mark Tremonti and Chappers Meets Myles Kennedy would be awesome!!!
Matthew Elliott I would kill for a Myles Kennedy video
Honestly I'd say the other way around.
Danny Peel I like Myles' playing more
Danny Peel or maybe Captain and Chappers interviews Mark and Myles at the same time, throw Rabea in there too just because and then they could all jam together
Myles Kennedy plays guitar?!? Man has an amazing voice ill agree on that one, but im searching google for a listen to some of this guitar playing you're talking about!

Soren is bang on. Moved my wah. Noise gone. Cheers!
Good Martin! I'm glad I could help...
Really enjoyed this. Great to see and hear a artist truely passionate for his craft.
This guy is immensely charming, this was a fun video.
His board is so simple yet so smart and tasteful 👍🏼
The Captain Meets Michael Landau.. that would be a dream!!!!
My favorite episode so far. Soren you sir are a real class act and seem like a really fun guy to be around. Maybe these guys can twist your arm into spending time with them more often. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no mOAH, Lee!
I hope the Captain invites Satchel and the other guys from Steel Panther. That would be fun!!
yeees
Captain Meets series is fast becoming my favourite part of Anderton's channel.. nice work Lee.
So cool. Love Søren Andersens guitar playing!!
Great guest once again. Thanks for bring us such nice and talented guests. Best Regards.
Oh cool! I didn't know people knew Søren Andersen outside of Denmark. He's a cool dude.
He's great in the studio too... fantastic producer/Mixer etc
everything I see from Soren is real class, great tones and great playing..
So frustrating that you can only like something once... Awesome player and a great bloke too. Top draw interview, thanks Captain.
That Yamaha is sweet !!!
That Les Paul you have is sweet!!!
Thx :)
Since The Captain seems to like meeting Danish musicians, we want "The Captain Meets Ida Nielsen" (bassist, Prince).
Soren's solo album (Constant Replay) is so underrated, check it out!
Brilliant. Really enjoyed that.
Jeg tog på Paletten i Viborg for at opleve Mike Tramp, hvor jeg opdagede guitarist Søren Andersen - wow, hvor er han en skøn guitarmand!
wow he's got such a similar personality/expression to pete! haha all danes are the same?
It is Pete with a Wig and tatts.
I thought the same thing, mate.
He even looks like Pete.
MadDrummer100000 it seems that Danish people are nice people who love a good laugh.
Plus their names are really cool,. Soren? Damn that is cool!!!
I wonder what is Pete's real name?
Wadsmitter , that name is so cool.
i know right! at some moments his facial expression looks a lot like pete's
Amazing rendition of my favourite Freak of Nature track! :D
What an unexpected treat on what was one of the best The Captain Meets videos. Lee always delivers top notch interviews and Søren is one of the most tasteful modern players out there along with guys like Doug Aldrich. Now THAT would be an incredible interview!
The Captain meets a great guitarist.Soren you Rock amigo.
This guy is cool...makes Chapman look very 'bedroom Guitarist'...This guy makes me want me to rush out and buy a new guitar and pedals
We get it u want to fit in and its trending to dog on rob now
The song at the end (Mike and Soren) was awesome. Solid stuff from Mike but controlled electric from Soren. Absolutely loved it.
I really his approach towards the use of his effects!! Thanks Andertons and Sorren!
very awesome! Soren is an amazing musician, and seems like a very cool, down-to-earth guy as well. Thanks for this great episode!
Not heard of Mike Tramp before, but the performance the end was great. The mix of the electric guitar sounds and the acoustic is one of the most inspiring things I've heard in ages.
Mike Tramp was in White Lion, a popular band in the late '80s.
Wow!!! That's a great tune by great players. Gotta know more...

Søren always has excellent tone.
This was great Lee, this chap reminds me of Phil X a little, but only in the way he actively seeks a tone!. Another great vid thanks.
Those two guys are amazing together. New fan.
The Supro 1305 Drive is a damned solid overdrive pedal as well. One of the best sounding/most true sounding overdrive pedals, I've ever heard.
Søren Andersen always sends tingles down my spine - thanks for this :-)
Great chapter! The singer at the end is SO good! 👏👏👏
My boy is 8. Learning guitar at school. Did a little end of term concert... played Smoke on the Water... I very nearly cried with pride... next year Paul Gilbert and Guthrie Goven... shred. SHRED, DAMN YOU!!!! ;oD
I worship my Boss CS2 compressor. It's nice to see that Soren also uses it. The CS3 is just another pedal, the CS2 is something special.
Really enjoyed that 'Captain Meets'!! What a cool guy!

I love Soren, such a great guitarist
his sound is just awesome
awesome, would love to see a video with Soren Anderson, Phil X, and Andy Timmons playing together that would be absolute perfection
Also like to second the comment below about how well recorded and mixed this was. Really pro job. Well done.
Andertons and Anderson, perfect team.
21:50 that sound, love it
A friend sent me the link to this since I just got both a RevStar 502 and a 720b. Now I need a 620 😁. Awesome!
loved the interview. like ever
I clicked on this video EXPECTING TO SEE him using a THR100 amp... although I'm disappointed... I'm not disappointed. Great interview!
Great player. Mike's voice sounds awesome too!
Sweet track at the end ! .... in places, reminded me of TOTO's - Bottom Of Your Soul ?
Loved his tones since th3 early 2000s.
Lee: Guns n' Roses are coming to England this summer. Would love to see a Captain meets Richard Fortus! Or even Slash if you can make that happen!
Yes yes yes yes yes

Mike Tramp it´s a perfect classic hard rock vocalist.
Loved White Lion, was such a great band !
Soren is great, it´s been a while already I don´t see a demo of him, be it Yamaha or TC, nice person, great musician, humble.
"The Captain Meets Mark Knopfler". Please ...
This I would love to see (and hear).
I guess Mark have some better to do...
That would so good and i'd be camping outside Andertons for that. He's the reason I learned to play!
Yeah, also "The Captain Meets Hendrix" please ...
Way too expensive.
I was just browsing some Sg's in thomann while playing this video... Those first notes of the guy blew me away... wow...
Amazing tones from this guy!
Holy shit that vibe sounds ASTOUNDING!!!!

The song at 44:00 speaks louder than all the words before that. Fantastic !!!
something about Danish and guitar playing ;)
Mike & Soren at the end...wow!!!
